Original Coupon Deal

Looks to be the same design as the T'EYES, so you can buy the fascia for your relevant vehicle, install this Android unit, and if you feel like upgrading later to a fancy 2k, 6G + 128GB T'EYES unit, it's only a <$100 loss. (No guarantees, YMMV, DYOR)

    "1024*600" yet "High Definition 1080P"

  • Grabbed one of the 4G+64G 2 DIN ones for a punt

    • where? i only see 2GB+64GB.

Is 2GB enough for google maps navigation these days?

And can these use bluetooth audio out to the existing car amp/radio? (easier than hard wiring)

edit: these are quite thick, so would really need to replace the old 2-DIN unit. So how am I going to hook up the steering wheel controls to this? Sounding less like a good idea.

You need to pick up an additional adapter specific to your car that converts the canbus to the headunit, then steering wheel controls will work.

There are wires you can connect your existing amp and sub to if you have, otherwise it's plug and play for normal speakers and Bluetooth is built into the headunit already

        • I'm not even sure my old Hyundai uses CAN BUS. Seems to be proprietary, so may need active conversion.

Will stick to using a mounted Android tablet with bluetooth.

      • I just went to the seller's store. I did grab the last one (for a 4G+64G 9", after discount was $136) but there were 2 listings each for the 10" 4G+64G and 9" 4G+64G.

2GB will struggle to run maps and pretty much any other app.

Honestly these are only good for bluetooth and radio, running apps on them is a PITA.
The $200+ ones with 4gb ram and semi decent processors are usable though.

  • Does this support 360 cameras?

      that's a lot of cameras
      .

    • +1

I think it just supports 1 camera.

  • I have had a similar one in my car from 4 years ago, Android 8 - 8 Core 1GB RAM, I only use it for Bluetooh functionality now, Android Auto lags way too much.

Any one know if the plug in USB or Wireless for Android Auto lags on this one?

Where can you buy the fasica from?

  • +1

I am so confused with all of these, I want a 4gb one that would suit my 2011 Mazda 3.. but I get confused with all the mounting/fascia stuff. Do they all match? is double din and 2 din the same? Anyone lend me some knowledge.

  • I've got a Kia Sportage with an upgraded factory sound system that included a sub with its own amp. Head unit is malfunctioning and I'd like Android Auto so looking to upgrade. Found this:
    https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/126106880362?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mk…
but compared to this deal it looks like a complete take. Am tempted.

  • TEYE's facia was so poor I couldn't progress with the install. Dimensions were out by a few mm here and a few mm there. The facia was ill fitting and not fit for purpose. Wouldn't recommend TEYE's for fascias.

If you are planning to use Android Auto or Car Play only as I do, don't buy an android one, buy one with linux operating system with wireless connection.

Had a couple of different Android units in the past few years and tried different ways of wireless connectivity but with no real success. Bought one of the ATOTO linux ones and couldn't be happier.

The model I bought was the older model of this one: https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B0BBRDM6GM/ref=emc_b_5_t
