  • Very interesting deal if huge tv is needed

  • Good timing, just need upgrade the TV.

  • Previois deal for TCL P745 was like $1197

Unless you want to pay monthly not a deal

    • Cancellation fee is $766 so it is a deal if you value fetch tv

      • +3

It has gone up to $800 now, but otherwise it’s still an excellent deal on TV and Fetch for $800

        • +1

          Correct

You also can redeem 6 months of Kayo Basic or Binge Standard included when you buy a 55" or above TV which is worth another $80

        • So you port, immediately cancel, and only have to pay $800, and maybe a months worth of the plan?

          • @GetFitWithCameron: Interested to know this too

          • @GetFitWithCameron: I have foreseen it would a long queue if only pay $800 cancellation fee… can we confirm this?

          • +1

@GetFitWithCameron: I believe so, I've read the terms and it appears to be a $800 + $99 all in cost.

Not game on trying it first…

Am in the market for an 85" tv though

I think the $1400 is better value as you can stack other sales / discounts onto it.

    • Agree, unless you're coincidentally in need of an 85" TV, I would rather get a $1400 GC.

      • What do people usually do with that amount of JBHifi GC?

        • +1

If it was me, I’d put that towards a laptop, TV or Phone if I was looking to make a single big purchase.

Otherwise could use it over a period of time to pick up games and the like.

Some people have luck using gift cards to buy Apple gift cards, in which case it could pay for Apple Store purchases or have it go towards streaming service subscriptions and the like.

The TV is worth $1785. Not bad, not amazing.

Why does the link take me to an Apple Pencil lmao.

    • +7

LOL it's a bait and switch.
"Sorry, by TV we actually mean an Apple Pencil.

    Trap Trap

  • Good deal to sign up and cancel for less than 45 minutes work.

    • And get new tv bundle for just pay cancellation fee?

  • No deal

  • Not likely you'll get a tv for $899, you still have to repay the voucher at a pro-rated amount apparently, in addition to the fee.

    Not worth risking imo.

This was posted from a previous deal:

…Voucher Repayment Fee is for the standard $800 voucher. The repayment amount is set out in the Service Terms(telstra.com.au) under 6.3.

    (a) Month 1: You will need to repay 23/24 of the Voucher you received;
    (b) Month 12: You will need to repay 11/24 of the Voucher you received; and
    (c) Month 23: You will need to repay 1/24 of the Voucher you received.

    • Have you got a link for this? Didn’t know it worked that way.

    • Voucher Repayment Fee is for the standard $800 voucher.

You are missing out on the most important part in the clause:

      Maximum Voucher Repayment Fee: $800

Regardless if there’s a promo, you’re only liable up to the $800 and nothing more, as you are signing up to the non-promo $99 plan

I have only tested it when I previously signed up to the S23 deals and only paid $766.67 for the ETC (before they raised the price to $800)

I ended up picking this deal today simply I was in need of a new TV. Got all these included
    - TCL 85" P745
    - Fetch Mini 4K
    - TCL S522W 2.1 Channel 200W Soundbar with Wireless Sub
    - Free delivery
Overall happy with my purchase (even the previous deal was way better, but well…)

    • It looks like aa really great deal! Are you planning to cancel this plan? And if you don’t mind, what does the critical information summary you signed say about the maximum voucher repayment?

      • I don't plan on cancelling this plan, even tho it is expensive. The JB rep showed me the maximum cancellation fee of $800. So if I cancel tomorrow it will be $899 in total (they charged $99 on the spot when you signed up)

        • Thanks for the info. Greatly appreciated! Might do the same tomorrow. Did you ask for the soundbar or did they bundle it together?

          • @Seiferc: They got some other program when you buy a tv and soundbar, the whole thing downs 15%. Somehow the total amound of gift cards for this option can cover the sound bar as well. That's what happened to me. I ended up with a spare $98 gift card left as well. No idea how does that work tho
