Decent price for the 2022 model.
Stack the 1/2 price catalogue price at JB with 5% further of perks coupon.
Plenty of GCs to discount it further.

shit i was actually considering this until I read the slim part its like 4cm deep and 4cm high must be pretty bad drivers?
Drivers are going to be the size of a 50c coin. They're going to sound fantastic /s
Ive got the white version, S801B, and really like it. Pairs nicely with the samsung frame tv
Q-symphony is such a charm
SB/sound system: Yamaha
SSD: Samsung
I was waiting for you, somehow I feel my soundbar deals aren't complete without your Yamaha comments
Can anyone confirm if this has Chromecast? Some earlier reviews seem to say it only does Airplay 2, Spotify Connect and SmartThings, but then Samsung website says Chromecast
Is it a true bargain for a sound bar?
55-60% off RRP is considered a good bargain
Do you think they will match the price for the white?
That's a hard one as it's a different model number and not just SKU. You could try
@sunnycwhite is $499 now
Might be a slight price error? The promo email said half price $999 down to $499 (before the 5%), the white version is also $999. Seems like a good deal made even better :)
Yeah I noticed that in the catalogue too. This one is coded at 899 instead of 999
thanks ordered
Excellent price, good find @abs898
showing $499 for me, $474 after 5% off, I just joined perks and used my code..
It's still $424 for me?
weird, now it's 425
Not worth the money, doesn’t get very loud and looses audio quality quickly.
Every review I’ve found has been very positive. What are you comparing it to, and what do you mean by it loses audio quality quickly?
Someone above pointed out that the casing on the bar is incredibly slim. So the drivers will be the size of coins.
There's just no way that you can get loud, full-range sound out of tiny drivers without serious compromises (probably distortion). It's possible to get great sound out of tiny drivers for applications like headphones, where they they are right next to your ears so don't need to push much air.
Have I heard these? No. I've tested and built enough speakers at home to not expect magic out of tiny, tiny little drivers sitting on the other side of a room.
Can anyone confirm that this comes with a Mini-HDMI cable/adapter in the box? Some reviews say yes, and others say no…
Based on the unbox video on youtube.
No Mini-HDMI cable/adapter in the box.
I ended up picking it up, and it does in fact have a Micro HDMI to HDMI cable (not Mini HDMI as I incorrectly assumed).
With GC discounts, I can bring this down to $380, that seems like a no brainer at that price point?
You will just need to see how it compares to Q700B/C and Q800B, they were around this range recently.
I set up the S800B this morning, but had to return it because my LG C9 OLED can't send Dolby Atmos via ARC, only eARC… Apparently the CX onwards can send Atmos through regular ARC by compressing it to a Dolby Digital Plus stream.
I tried connecting it with my Thenaudio SHARC, but that has to be connected to a non-ARC input on the soundbar; but the S800B only has the one HDMI/ARC input.
Happy to swap my white for someone’s black in VIC.
Just bought it and feel black would suit my setup more..
certainly slim
