Water Rower Club Exercise Machine Free Delivery $1555 (Normally $1799 on eBay)

20

This is one of the better rowing exercise machines around (better be at that price). The other is the Concept 2 (an air resistance type). The Water Rower uses a tub of water to provide resistance which means they're quieter than the air type. Pretty outrageous how much they cost here (when they're the usual $1800) considering they're around $1100 in the US. You can hook up a heart rate monitor and even race or exercise on a computer against other users or your previous times.

Just in the last few day Just Fitness have dropped their ebay price to $1599 down from $1799 (I got it by Offer at $1555) to try to teach a competitior a lesson (so I was told) - so that price won't last. The Free Delivery doesn't apply to outback areas. I'm sure you could wangle the deal direct with Just Fitness at 1300 212 222

ABN 73 106 575 017

Some accessories and info available at Waterrower, but it's worth asking Just Fitness what they can include with your deal (I got the Starter Kit for $180).

If you want to get the Netathlon software ($200) get it direct from the producer for US$149.95

So all up you can save $314 by spending nearly $1885 - that's the OzBargain way :-)

    No ABN ?

    It might sink…

  • They must have one. They have quite a few stores. I'm a customer, not from Just Fitness.

    • They must have one.

It needs to be listed in your post if you link to ebay…

    • can any one comment on the noise level is is very much reduced or non existent? and I don't see any pluses so is this not value for money still at this rate or better equivalent items around?

      • I saw one mention that a cat was quite happy sleeping while it was being used. Others that watching TV is no problem. Although the computer 'virtual reality', or simulation isn't as advanced as I would have thought they could get, it's still something others don't have.

  • Can these be stored vertically when not in use .. or will water go everywhere?

    • Yes they can. Have a look at the water rower site. It's a lot of money to spend, but it does look ok.

This model is $1999 on the water rower site. Functionally all the models but the A1 are the same, just diferent materials (different timbers and metals). The Club is second cheapest of the better type. The A1 models are cheaper and less computer bizzo. Might just as well get a cheaper copy. I'm thinking the computer bizzo will help with motivation. At this price you don't want it to be a 'use a couple of times then prop up in the corner' kinda thing.

For that money couldn't you join a yacht club? you know, social and all? the scenery might be better too

i don't think there's much rowing done in a yacht club?

      (unless maybe the mast breaks…)

    • Yes for some. In my case I'm in Tassie (brrr) and 30 mins from the closest club. Also I'm not a club joiner type (that's code for miserable git).

  • If you're near a club you might have a 5-10 minute drive each way and fart abou tin boats for 30-40 mins. You're looking at an hour just to get in 20-30 mins exercise. Cleaning up, changing clothes. With these you can just pop on and do a 5-10 minute session.

I think you're missing the point about the 'social' aspect of it…

      • Yes true it's a different thing - or added thing - or something you have to suffer through depending on your point of view :-)

This is Ozbargain…. we don't go outside… might miss a bargain!

  • Forgot - you can hire them if you just want to try it.

    • A+ for consistent effort

  • Horses for courses but I would prefer the Concept 2. This one would be a bit quieter.

  • I exercise in a heartrate zone. I found it much harder to get in the zone and stay there, using a Water Rower, than I do with an exercise bike, bike or running. Was that caused by my primitive technique or is that usual with rowing machines?

  • I found a water rower I tried had less resistance than I could get with a Concept 2.

    • Thanks - That was my other though - how adjustable is the resistance.

      • You might find it useful to google 'concept 2 vs water rower'.
