Hi everyone
My close friend and wife are planning to look to buy in rowville Victoria
I heard there are some crime or termite issues there

Anyone have experience there or recommend an area close to there?

    Tell them that Ballarat has the lowest rate of termites committing crime anywhere in Victoria.

    There are termites everywhere. You need to do a pre-purchase inspection to make sure there are not existing termites.

    On crime, there are published statistics on this, but overall, Rowville will likely look pretty boring in terms of crime statistics. It'll mostly be middle-aged families. If your view is that Rowville has high crime, I honestly don't think there would be many areas in metro Melbourne that would be significantly better.

    Get a double brick house with bars on the windows. You'll be safe from crime and termites.

    Remember that the public transport in Rowville is horrible. They’ve been promising a train station since I was a kid!

    Termites are everywhere.

    Pest and Building inspection are useless, unless there are clearly eating the house away, they give the same generic warnings about termites.

    Try not to leave any firewood or timber outside around the house.

    Crime doesn't look any worse than the more expensive parts of Melbourne. House break ins are everywhere in Melbourne, rarely do break in into houses in the suburbs they live in.

    Rowville is about as statistically safe as Brighton and Glen Waverley, and all 3 are statistically safer than Toorak.

    I got robbed by some termites in Point Cook so maybe stay away from there

    Next suburb over from Rowville is better. Crime & termites haven’t moved there yet
