Maybe 2-3 minutes but ideally you wait about 10 mins for the machine to warmup.
But don't buy a machine like this if you're not prepared to pay attention to detail, if speed is your priority then you need a couple of extra gadgets like an external electric grinder and a few accessories on top which will cost all up another few hundred dollars at least. Then you need to do your own research and watch a few YouTube vids to get up to speed about how to make coffee. Then you need fresh coffee beans.
So to make it worth it you definitely need to be a daily coffee drinker and have at least a few minutes in your morning schedule spare.
Had mine for 4 years now and hasnt missed a trick
I was reading around that some of the BES920 had issues with the group head seal deteriorating quickly. It appears the newer production has got this issue sorted. Do you know anything about this? Is the stock being sold now made in 2023?
My BDB I just got from this deal has serial 2327 so seems to be made Jun-Jul this year!

Trust me - group head seal is the smallest issue you are going to have. :)
If you are not overfilling the basket and wiping the edge $10 seal will last you few years. The biggest issue is o-rings leaks and that was improved in the most recent variant.
Ended up buying the dual boiler with breville smart grinder from Jb yesterday - Price match harvey norman $1000 and used ultimate gift cards 10% off from coles (https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/806932) worked out to be $1148 for both.
You did well! Enjoy
Does anybody know whether they are producing new ones of these (with the boiler connection improvements) in black still?

10-15 minutes to warm up, but you can put it on a timer. Then allow for 4-5 minutes to make a double shot latte once it's warmed up, assuming a reasonable automatic grinder. Shave a minute off for espresso only.
