We just satyed there and it was amazing. Highly recommend.

    • +2

Have they renovated the rooms? because tbe last time we stayed there a couple of years ago, they were very outdated.

      • +2

Yes i believe most rooms are know updated. We stayed in the Park wing with a pool view. Modern room. Awesome view out to the pool and the river skyline. All the restaurants were great, some just normal sort of pub food, and highly recommend the buffet dinner over the weekend. We had 2 double beds and the room was nicely cleaned everyday compared to an apartment stay. The BEST is being able to go straight into Seaworld and the staff.

      • +1

they are working their way around the room renovations yes - we stayed there last month and our room was renovated and good. I think we had the deluxe double room though… its a bit more expensive on that deal and with this description on the site "Escape to this newly renovated room with warm coastal furnishings, a gorgeous ensuite with refreshing pastel hues and a private balcony where you can soak up the Gold Coast sun"

last year the room we got wasn't renovated and in need of it, but some were being renovated then. So I don't know if still partial or all rooms done but its big so would take a while (over 400 rooms)

    • +2

In contrast to the rest of the comments below, I'd like to hear more about this opinion

    • +1

Yep, we literally just stayed in the garden wing. Modern neat rooms, we did upgrade to the one with queen beds. The park was fun for the whole fam and food and drink options were tops.

    • +1

We stayed in 2021 and it was not very nice. There was blood and mould on the quilt and sheets.
      Yuk.

      • Did you claim a refund because of it?

        • Nope we just asked for replacement sheets. It took a whole day to get replacements and we were only staying 3 nights so just live and learn I guess.

  • +1

    What's the usual price?

    • +2

Not sure about the normal RRP. 3-day pass to the village parks is $179 X 4, so five nights accommodation at 4.5 star SeaWorld resort and the other inclusions seems like a good deal. On their page it says value is up to $2,290 and a 48% discount, no guarantee how accurate that is.

    • +4

      Did a quick search on bookings.com and it's a saving of ~$550.

  • +30

Combine this bargain with this promo in 2 days https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/805828 and you will save another 15% from your total cost.

    • Nice! Wish I'd known about that

    • how does it work…. is it you load gift credit on because I don't think they allow you to split payment if using celebration gift card as a cc

      • Use the celebration gift card and buy luxury escapes gift card online. Then you use that gift card to pay for your order. Hope that helps!

        • any maximum cards per checkout?

        • +2

Gosh. We're in zipping a zip file territory here.

      • You need to swap the giftcard to luxescape GCs and then use it

        • any maximum cards per checkout?

          • +1

@Poor Ass: Nope. You load the credit to your Luxury Escapes account, which you can then use at checkout.
No limit to how much you load onto your account.

            • @loveyou3000: Thank you

              • @Poor Ass: No worries. If you get stuck using the cards online, just call Luxury Escapes and they can easily add them to your account.
If you convert the celebration gift cards to LE cards first, then should just be able to quote the voucher number to them to add to your account.

                • @loveyou3000: Hey, just to confirm how does converting to LE GC's work? Cheers.

                  • +4

                    @Cheepcheep88: You have 2 options.

                    1. Go to https://exchangecelebration.com.au and exchange for an LE giftcard. (preferred method).
                      OR
                    2. Purchase an LE giftcard directly from the LE website, using the celebration giftcard details in the credit card field at checkout.

Once you have converted all your giftcards to LE giftcard, use them to purchase your package. If it wont let you use multiple giftcards at checkout, then give LE a call and note that you have several giftcards that want to add to your account, and they'll combine it for you.

    • You can possibly further stack with discounted Luxury escapes gift cards from Costco

Stayed there 2 years ago, rooms were horribly run down, mini bar didn't work A/C was almost useless, beds felt like they were 20 years old, the spongebob water park thing was only half working too, hopefully better now.

    • +9

Same. Stayed there a couple years ago and it was okay if you were keen to be the parks all day, but think of this like a decent motel as opposed to a premium hotel.

    • +1

highly second this, and they are close to no where but sea world. so unless you enjoy 100% hotel room dinning and don't want to go anywhere else than seaworld (yes, other theme parks are also miles away).

      • +3

We stayed at Sheraton a couple of years ago, which is one bus stop away, $10 Uber into town one way. Only highlight was the fish and chips place across the road.

        • +3

          Peter's!

    • +1

      Sounds like a luxury escape!

    • Same, wouldn't recommend at this price point.
Wet n Wild only had about HALF it's rides operational…..weren't many patrons there and they were obviously saving on staff wages.
      Won't be returning.

  • The accommodation doesn't have very good reviews (7.9 on booking.com, I usually look for like 8.7+) but given the price I'd give it a go if I didn't have a trip there booked already.

    • +1

It's only good value if you were going to buy the theme park tickets anyway.

  • +16

    Use code PRESTIGECITI10 for 10% off :D

    • +1

      Wow it works

      • Did it work without a Citibank card?

        • +1

          Yep

          • @Chicken Kyiv: No it doesn't, when you go to the checkout screen it won't apply unless you have a Citi cc

            • @Dr Cheapo: Can you pay part giftcard and part Citi cc using the discounted code?

            • @Dr Cheapo: Worked for me, paid with Virgin Money CC. Both are owned by NAB though.

    • Oh I just saw this in the description too!

    • Stacks with gift cards?

      • Should stack fine as one will be gift card (credit) and one is promo code

  • +1

my experience with this place horrible. electricity went out all night with no air con. left early and they refunded my money. would not stay there for free. if you have low expectations and a tight budget then give it a go.

    • Sold! (jk)

    • +15

you got a refund and free entry to theme parks… bargain

  • +1

Is this any good for young couples without kids?

    • +3

Not unless you don't minds kid running around and everything catered towards kids.

    • +1

Couldn't think of any place worse.

    • Just been there 2 weeks ago. I would ask for a room away from the Pool and it would be great as sometimes the pool has kids out early. I would recommend if you like seaworld and movie world etc also.

  • +3

This is a good deal because the tickets for theme park entry are very expensive, though it would be awkward staying with 3 or 4 family members in a standard double room. There are plenty of 1 or 2 bedroom apartments on the good coast, would be nice is Sea World offered that.

Keep in mind Sea World is a bit isolated, so I'd recommend renting a car or having a car if you're going to stay there.

    • When I called two months ago, a staff member told me they have a deal with a local bus that shuttles people to WB Movie world and other popular locations. Not sure if this is year around.

    • Its about 3-5 ks into surfers paradise

  • this deal definitely will impress those that don't live in south east Qld… but for us locals it's pretty average

    • Share a better deal? Theme parks are why people stay there. It is in high end of the GC.

      • can't compare it's different when you are local

I was saying it's good for people not around there

  • i think this is good off peak, but holiday premium kills it if needing to travel during School hols.

    • Seems to be ok in Jan 2025 if you get in early

      • based on the comments, more like before the go bankrupt.

  • -4

What sea worlds? The one in Queensland?

    • Sigh yes. If you click the link it tells you where it is..

    • +3

The one in Orlando. Let us know how you go.

  • +1

Great deal but place is noisy. You can hear kids running up and down the corridor and also you can hear the neighbours

    • +1

Yes, paper thin walls. Stayed there last year and it sounded like a rugby team next door.

      • +8

Not the Wallabies though, assume they'd all be pretty quiet ATM

  • +1

Sounds to me like you pay for the perks, not a luxurious hotel. I'm shocked that anyone is surprised.

  • Does it include helicopter ride?

    • +1

      too soon

but if serious, no…. that's usually just on the day

  • -6

No thanks. Watch Blackfish. These parks are not ethical for intelligent ocean creatures.

    • +2

With risking the threat of unsolicited innuendo did you see Free Willey?

    • +2

Just out of curiosity, are you vegan?

      • +3

Yes, I am. Even if you're not, I would suggest looking up the intelligence of animals like orcas and dolphins, and think about how a life in captivity is not what these creatures should be enduring. Obviously my personal beliefs extend beyond these animals in particular, but there are plenty of non-vegan people who also consider ocean parks like Sea World cruel.

        • +2

My favourite Orca is Peter Dutton.

        • +1

I also think they said that the dolphins were rescued and nursed back to health. The show was very nice.

    • +2

The Australian Seaworld is different to the American one ie, it's not the same company. The Australian one doesn't have any orcas. I have seen dolphins, seals and I think sting rays. They also had a very cool jelly fish exhibition recently.

  • Fine for 1 night or so. 5 would be pushing it depending on the room location.

The pool area is absolute madness at times, usual deal of larger groups dominating the place near the bar so its not exactly a relaxed atmosphere but on par with any other large resort.

One benefit is you can get early entry to the park, and prime seats at the dolphin show before the masses.

    • You have unlimited entry to the theame parks…I think the point is that you should spend all day there.

  • +2

Are there any advantages to the premium and premium view rooms in regards to better chance of a good nights sleep?

  • +2

I wish there was an option for bigger rooms (to suit family of 5)

    • I tried with 5 ppl and it didn't change the price. How 5 ppl are going to sleep on 2 beds is a mystery though 😂

      • +1

It on a rollaway. "Extra Guest Policy: A fifth guest (3+) may stay for a surcharge of A$65 per night, sleeping on a rollaway, with unlimited theme park entry only. Payable directly to the resort."

  • Offftt - inflation's hit Sea World specials. Used to be under $1000

  • Is unlimited entry for 5 days or a whole year

    • 6 days actually because you can go to a park the day you checkout

      • +3

Tip: you can grab your theme park entry passes on the morning of your first days stay - no need to wait for 3pm check in.

        • Ya I know I'm local been many times

          That's 6 days still

  • Hotels really should include breakfast for this price

    • It does?

      • This deal doesn't include it.

  • +2

Does anybody know if the buffet breakfast is included in the package or is free only for kids with paying adults? The sentence "Free buffet breakfast and kids' menu dinner for children (13 and under) with paying adult" is a bit confusing. Thanks!

    • +2

It is free only with a paying adult. 2 paying adult = 2 kids free. I have not found info on how much the breakfast costs though.

    • +1

free buffet breakfast for all, and free kids dinner with paying adult

ensure you go breakie as early as you can, like before 7:15am otherwise, longggg queue
