  • Thinking of upgrading kids old iPads. Cannot even update them anymore. This a good deal? Just mainly YouTube kids and kids games. Or overkill?
Do the screen crack easily? Should’ve done Google search but ask here :)

Overkill. The included pen might be good for drawing/writing. Do kids write anymore? Corning® Gorilla® Glass 3.

      • Just the oldest one. But she got iPad 9th gen. (School one). Think I hold off for another deal. Christmas coming up.

        • I just grabbed a 9th gen ipad cellular at my local Cash converters for 279 in near new condition. This seemed low to me, but they also had another at 299 witb a case. Maybe try your luck.

      • kids don't write anymore, it's too hard apparently and takes too much effort

    • Probably a little overkill.

The Lenovo Tab M10 Plus Gen 3 goes on sale for around $250 every few months and that would be a better bang for buck for what you listed as uses.

      • Thanks for the feedback. Almost got in the car to jb/Officeworks. Officeworks $397 and in stock. M10 $297 just concerned about 4gb ram on it.
        Decisions. :)

Wife got one of these a month ago, very pleased.

    • Thinking of upgrading kids old iPads. Cannot even update them anymore.

You can't update them anymore, so you're thinking of going to an Android device?

      • Yeah, always been an Apple. But since got my Samsung tablet consider to go android. Know I lose all the apps but meh. Older now and need different apps. Even consider to upgrade my old iphone 11 to android next time. (Got a spare 11 for subs and apps)

        • I purely meant that if you care about being able to update the device, Android has a poor record in terms of OS updates.

      • There's always an Apple fan boi popping up on every Android post.

        • You should check literally any post surrounding an Apple device, dude.

Literally the Apple v Android support window is diametrically opposite, so my question is completely valid.

          • @ThithLord: Android doesn't have a poor update record. There's no doubt that Apple is better, but that doesn't justify three or four times the price.

            • @Wardaddy:

Android doesn't have a poor update record.

Riiiight, that's why an Android device loses half it's value as soon as the box is opened, compared to an Apple device retaining it's value for a very long time. It's because they're so close to parity on support! Sure.

  • I paid $339 1 week ago.

    • Where?

      • Was on ebay for $359, Bing Lee and then $20 voucher ontop.

Well played, that was a VERY short lived deal.

G99? Meh. Has good power efficiency but worse than 855/865 https://www.socpk.com/cpucurve/

  • +2

    Overpriced.

Other than the extra 2gb ram (and this with worse cpu) it has nothing over the Lenovo Tab M10 Plus Gen 3 for ~$250.

$375 from eBay mobile city for eBay plus members…

i saw this deal when looking for tablets myself and then stumbled accross that
atm you can get the Lenovo pad clear post about for $395 after tax using code OT14 isn't that one better then this one. im pretty sure if you set AliExpress to usd currency you can get it cheaper as well, as long as ofc you have low conversion fees on your card

I've owned a lot of Lenovo tablets, bought them for the parents, the kids had a few I'll never buy another one.

Basically after a year or two zero updates, whatever android version is on there is often what you're stuck with and the modding community for them is generally not strong enough to have good quality alternative ROMs.

The build quality of the M10 series is also pretty shoddy, I had to open two of them up to repair connectors and it's not great.

I upgraded everybody to Samsung Tabs and haven't looked back.

    • the problem is Samsung wants thousands for theres hopefully theres a deal on a tablet like there was the z fold

totally agree, i have 5,6.. similar experience as yours

The duet Chromebooks are a great alternative. Updates for years and years on chrome OS and the have support for majority of android apps, I have my keyboard permanently detached and use it as a tablet.

      • I bought my daughter one for School during COVID and it's fine but there have been issues running certain Android apps on it.

    Still can’t beat Lenovo Xiaoxin Pad Pro 2022 (11.2" 2.5K OLED, 6GB/128GB, Widevine L1)

    • +2

Waiting for another deal of xiaoxin pro

Can you use one of these as a second monitor for a surface pro laptop?

  • Got display port output via USB?

    • Why wouldn't you cast?

  • Is the deal still on? Looks like no longer $399

    • i guess it's finished.

      • I went to the store and still valid for this price plus 10% frenzy off.

I found yoga tab 11 instead. I think better than this model.

        Same price btw
