Its not the Reps fault but anti-histamines are disgustingly overpriced in Australia.

I buy mine from the US, and I can see no reason why it is not a more sensible option.

I guess for those that choose to by here, or more to the point can't buy from the US it's a deal for them.

    • Where do you buy yours from Natt?

        Try http://www.iherb.com/Boericke-Tafel-Allergy-Relief-Allergiem…

        a more natural alternative.

Use LIW132 to get a discout if you've never shopped at iherb before.
        $6 shipping to oz

        • Actually looking for them to keep a few spare boxes around due to an allergy to bees. Not sure I want to chance random alternative medicines in this regard.

I thought you were after something for hayfever. These are marketed in the US, it's not random medication! When i say alternative, i mean it's natural, so better for your body compare to chemicals they load up in drugs.

Not sure what kind of Symptoms is assciated with bee allergy. But the following does mention "For the temporary relief of hay fever and pollen allergic symptoms…"

      • I buy generic loratadine (in the last case it was the "Kirkland" brand).

And I just bought it straight from ebay from a seller with decent feedback.

Can't remember the exact price but it was under $20 for 300 tablets (10mg each).

There is nothing wrong with a US product, its just the generic without the significant markup.

Same in the UK as well.

We get stung so badly in Australia for some medications.

Its the same with "Ponstan" $8 here on a good day, but when I grab the equivalent in malaysia its $1 (and yes its a reliable chain chemist there)

Oh and its branded as well

    • everything is overpriced in Australia

  • Or walk into chemist warehouse and get 75 for $40 and not have to worry about a cheque.

  • Or buy generic Loratadine (same thing) for much less anywhere

  • Buying lotatadine off ebay… Hmm is that even safe/legal?

  • Legal:

    Safe - well that depends

The US/UK has pretty strong legislation, the only issue is do you trust the entity you are buying from to give you what they say they will?

Which is the decision thats up to you

I am risk-adverse but am happy with my decision.

Perhaps we should be asking why its so much more in OZ?

Oh and if you are really worried, look for a UK pharmacy on-line that sells to Australia (they seem to be more used to dealing with worldwide).

You can check they are registered then etc too.

  • Seems like a decent deal, once cash back is taken into consideration. But cashbacks are so tedious.

  • I bought mine from a pharmacy when I went to Indonesia. Very cheap!
I don't remember the price but I think for $2, you can get 5-8 tablets or maybe more.
    Brand name is Claritin. :)
