  What benefit does this provide over a Broadlink RM4 Mini S? Other than telling you to change a filter on a date, which I'm sure a calendar could do.

      Cool, works with Daikin? How do you connect these things up? Via supplied handheld remote?

  Yeah, with the remote and the Smart life app. It's worked with the Gree AC, don't see why it won't work with Daikin. It learns from the remote.

    Does it know the current state of the air con? Many cheap IR blasters don’t which limits their functionality for automations.

      Yes it does, including being able to change temperature, etc via the app and can be set via Google Home
