Good price and probably a good move for anyone in the market for a pair of 5"s. I've always found that KRKs aren't particularly honest as reference monitors (and they're very bass heavy) so just do a bit of research on how coloured they are before you dive in.
I think they fixed it with the G4. Looks like these are just the G3 with a new name.
How do these compare to the JBL LSR305 MKIIs?
As reference monitors, the JBLs kill them. These are much better for most people who just want to listen to music but pretend they're using reference monitors :-)
The JBLs top out at 20 kHz compared to 34.5 kHz on the KRKs, so if you want to use them for production or mixing with high frequency content the JBLs may not be the right choice. JBLs do have a slightly wider low frequency extension (43 Hz vs 46 Hz).
LOL, OK then…
This guy knows his speaker
fyi, anything above 20 khz is inaudible anyway… in-fact, the upper limit in average adults is closer to 15-17 khz. #fact

It's commonly believed, but false, that people can't perceive higher frequencies as part of sound :)
@gzalyu: haha! I think you should read that article rather than just 'headlining'… You can believe what you like… What I posted was #fact… What you've posted is a 'study' of possible perceived audio of a hypothetical model.. 🙄
Well, if you think these are the same as the good KRKs, then … good for you, I guess. But try to keep that disinformation to yourself.
Got a pair of the 7”, which are also on a decent price at $219 each :) (compared to Mannys selling a pair on sale right now for $449)
Damn cheap
