    That's actually an insane price

  • +1

Great price, I paid 199 a month or so ago

  • +3

    Net weight of 28kg.

    • -2

And? Can you not lift 28kg?

      • -2

And my steel version is 14.5kg. I carry mine in my car all the time.

        • +4

          And it's rated to 2000kg?

        • my steel version is 14.5kg

Here you go 8.8Kg even lighter.

          https://www.totaltools.com.au/93581-kincrome-1350kg-hydrauli…

        • Is this the one you have? ToolPro Low Profile Trolley Jack 1600kg

If you're happy with what you have, there's no point in looking elsewhere but from an objective point of view there is a reason why the 3000kg version is the OzB favourite, and not the 1600kg version.

          • @brosk1s: What is the reason?

            • +3

@Zylix: I started with that 1600kg ToolPro jack years ago, beats a scissor jack but not comparable to larger jacks. 3000kg equivalents (and this 2000kg aluminium/steel one to an extent) are usually much better at:

              • Lifting and lowering (dual pumps, longer handles for more leverage, much quicker lifts and better control while lowering)
              • Maximum lift height (approx 13cm more lift height with the 3t vs 1.6t toolpro jack which makes a difference even on a sedan)
              • Stability while jacking (wheels on heavier duty jacks are spaced much further apart and the front wheels are usually bigger which helps it roll if your floor is not 100% smooth)
              • Grip/weight distribution (the saddles on heavier duty jacks are in the 110mm range while the 1.6t jack has a 45mm saddle)

Not the largest list in the world but the functions of a trolley jack are pretty basic to begin with

          • -3

@brosk1s: I was interested to see what the aluminium one weighs. Unsure why it would weigh so much when it proclaims to have aluminium and enticing one to check it out for the light weight properties of aluminium. Carrying an extra 14kg in the boot has an impact on fuel economy.

            • +9

@Logical: Trolley jacks are not designed to be kept in the car, they are a garage tool.

              • +2

@magic8ballgag: My car came with no jack. A standard jack won't fit either. I require a low profile. What else do you suggest?

                • +4

@Logical: Get a jack that originally came in your car, or just get a small portable jack. You don't need anything fancy to change a tyre on a stardard car.

                • @Logical: Use this trick

                • +1

                  @Logical:

My car came with no jack. A standard jack won't fit either. I require a low profile. What else do you suggest?

Huh ? If your car doesn't come with a jack, then it doesn't come with a spare tyre either.

So why are you carrying around a jack in the boot ?

        • +1

Is it 2T rated and does it have the same range as this?

        • link please

      • -2

I only can if I have a jack to do it for me. Should I buy 2?

    • Must admit it doesn't feel like 28Kg to me - even fully boxed up. More like 16/20kg to be honest. A similar looking model on eBay is quoted as 18kg.

I've no way of actually measuring it accurately but what I can say is that it's certainly massively lighter than my 2500kg all steel jack.

      • All steel ones are usually around the 40-45kg mark for those capacities, so it's a decent weight saving

  • +1

I got this using my points. Good jack

    • +1

Did it come with a free watch 😃?

      • +2

No, but the jack was "free".

    • Happy for you but no need to share such personal commentary. What you do in the privacy of your own home, is up to you.

  • +3

Yeah, I'd avoid click and collect. There seems to be a model of data phishing with these guys. Stock level was there one minute gone the next, last special, then miraculously after they claimed to have no stock, all the stores had stock again.
Keep your data, go to the store. No idea about this jack, though. Still getting over the last runaround via online purchase.
Looking fwd to seeing how many ppl sign up only to miss out and get the 'no stock' email

  • +1

    Damn that is cheap
Also paid 200 a month ago

  • How low, low profile is this? Will it go under a sedan with factory sports suspension for example?

    • You could just park 1 of your wheels over a paving or anything that will hold the car while you slide the jack under, if you are worried about clearance.

    • Height lowered is 100mm which you won't run into any problems unless you have any modifications.

    • does on BMW series 3.

    • Keep in mind where you will be jacking the car up. Side or the front/rear subframe. If you are like me and lazy and Jack the whole front/rear it is actually more important how long the lowered section of the Jack is. My light weight aluminium one can’t make it under the bumper to get to the subframe because its low section is literally the first 20cm of the Jack.

    • +2

It's low but not that low. I have a 86 and Mini Cooper and it won't be low enough to get under the centre of the front subframe. I use some low profile ramps first before jacking up

      • Is this with stock height on the 86?

        • Nah it's lowered but even stock height I doubt it would fit. The whole body of the jack needs to be able to fit underneath to reach subframe

        • Just ordered one to try with my stock height 86, will update you. Right now I use a stanley one from bunnings, which has a lowered height of 85mm. But I put a wooden plank ontop of that

  • This really looks like the Arcan Trolley Jack I got from Costco years ago, just without the rubber padding on the contact point.
Good price if it's the same one.

    • +1

yeah, only the sides are aluminium, hence the weight, I have a 1600kg i keep in the car and the Costo on in the garage, looking the details this looks like my costco one, insane price if you need a 2T jack with aluminium sides. Supercheap one is $329 rrp at the moment so even if they did 50% off this is still cheaper.

    • Yeah trolley jacks are often a universal design when it comes to the cheaper stuff.

  • is this any good for a Tesla y?

    • +7

Perfect for swapping out the battery pack.

  • -3

this one is very heavy and only has a minimum height of 100mm, for same $ the 1600kg ToolPRO branded one has a minimum of 85mm and is much lighter

    • +8

Except that is single piston (harder and more effort to pump), doesn't go as high as this one (375mm vs 465mm) and is rated for less - this is better deal IMO

      • Yup the additional top end height is useful for medium suvs etc

      • The lifting height is what you are looking for.

    • +5

As a mechanic I don’t think any Jack rated under 2000kg is even worth considering, don’t get something that just matches the requirement, get something that exceeds it.

  • Wow! Very tempting. I actually sold a trolley jack because I don't use it often, and also it can't reach the front jack point (can push it in further but no room to pump the handle).

I bought a pair of ramps for oil change, last time I used the trolley jack was to rotate tyres.

Thinking to get this one, probably can re-sold for similar price after awhile if it doesn't get used often.

    • lol! I do and have done the same, even bought great ramps on super special to do one oil change!, got a couple of more to do. getting tired of local good guy mechanic charging me $220 - $260 for an oil change (Service). I buy fully synth oil and a good filter for $50 - $60, got the Ramps for $88, so yEAH great!

      • Which ramps would you guys recommend? I'm looking at grabbing a set as well but not sure what is reputable

        • +1

I got 2 for the price of one ($84) Special a few months back.
Can’t believe how expensive crappy old rusted secondhand ones are on gumtree/ market place!

          https://www.supercheapauto.com.au/p/toolpro-toolpro-car-ramp…

        • +2

The Repco one has got good reviews, but not everyone likes plastic, at least it doesn't rust, though best to keep in the shade.

          https://www.repco.com.au/tools-equipment/garage-tools-equipm…

Sparesbox sometimes list it on eBay, paid $90 delivered.

          • @browser: I’ve got a set of the tool pro ramps that have lived in the weather for 5 years and although some small bits of rust have developed on scratched edges, they have held up great, for an at home hobbyist I don’t expect they’d ever need to replace them due to rust.

          • @browser: just bought. thanks

  • +7

Buy one before they jack the price back up

  • Its spelt Total Fools.

Good luck with any warranty issues. These guys are a joke.

  • +4

I paired mine with this - works well

    https://amzn.asia/d/8fyo7ab

    • Agreed. I also tend to have a few 50/75mm thick sleeper cut-offs around for spreading the load and/or extra height. It really p…s me off when I see damaged floors or sills

  • Will this lift a modern Subaru Forester enough to put jack stands under?

Is it low enough to go under a stock VF Commodore SS Redline?

    Need one that does both.

    • +1

Yes, for height on the Forester, I used it for my 2017 Tiguan and it worked well.

No idea about the Commodore, but it drops to 100mm so more than likely yes.

    • +1

100mm is the minimum, which is also the legal ride height limit in most states. If your car is not lowered then this will suit fine.

    • +1

I have the 1600kg ToolPro trolley jack which has been mentioned earlier and this has a min height of 85mm and I've used it on VF Redline, so the 100mm min height of this jack from Total Tools should fit, as from memory the jacking points and hoist points on the VF are 130-140mm off the ground.

      • Thanks so much.

  • +1

Intrested but thinking going with 1.7t jack and stands.

    https://sydneytools.com.au/product/daytona-dlp1700-t42001ca-…

    • +1

Depends what you're lifting - max height may be an issue on some vehicles. But that's a great deal if it meets your height requirements.

      Height Lowered: 89mm
      Height Raised: 359mm

  • Hoping to get some guidance here, the height on the specification page says 180mm, is that the highest part and the entry part is the lowered height of 100mm? I checked and my car is about 170mm where the jack points are. Will this still fit? Thanks in advance!

    • It’s the pad that would be the lowered height.

Just depends how far in you need to get the Jack to reach the Jack point.

      • Thanks, the jack points are just by the side skirt of the car, so not deep in at all. So this might work, but also considered the deal from Sydney tools with 2 jack stands but with lower Height Raised.

    • +1

Your car at the jack points will fit most common jacks except for bottle jacks. The jack in this deal will fit.

      • Thanks all got one from Mitcham, VIC. There was 5 when I got there close to closing and within 10 mins there is 1 left!

  • Still 4 left at the Penrith store as of 10 mins ago - they'd only sold 2 before I bought one.

I've got the low profile SCA one but it doesn't go high enough really along with a 2.5T all-steel SCA one from years ago which weighs way more than this one - this new one will be a happy medium.

  • +2

This is actually a pretty good price… but remember how not to jack up a car: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t2pddWSh520 :P

  • +2

Just a heads up - these are not as low profile as you might hope - I have one and it could not get under a Honda Jazz with a factory lip and height, whereas a mate's low profile easily could.

    • hmmm reckon it could fit under a BMW z4 e85?

    • That's surprisingly low for a stock lip, is it a model with sports trim? Skirts, sports springs and etc?

      • The issue is that you have to be able to pump the handle once you've put the jack under the front. Depending on how far in the central jacking point is, this can eliminate a huge number of jacks !

      • Yeah, but all factory stuff including stock ride height. I had to jack it up using a smaller jack first, then get this under it!

A mate bought one similar to this: https://www.supercheapauto.com.au/p/toolpro-toolpro-low-prof… - it was no issue. Note how it stays flatter for longer vs the TTI one which tapers upwards immediately; this makes all the difference!

    • What is your mate's low profile jack?

      • See above, not exact model but something similar which is much flatter through the profile.

  • Raised Height 460mm, is that considered a good height?

  • I am fairly certain this is the same as the Arcan aluminium jack from Costco. Extremely light and I would consider it a low profile.

Great for track days due to it's weight!

  • back to $290

  • Seems to be off the website now

  • Nice. Just received notification my click and collect is ready for pickup. Expected a cancellation email from previous experience.

  • Wow 290 to 129. Seems like a pricing error. Was this deal honoured?
