This smart doorbell was previously popular on Amazon and now it's even cheaper from Reolink's AliExpress store that ships from their AU warehouse. Plus this listing has both the PoE (Power over Ethernet) and the WiFi version available depending on your needs.

The doorbell has a 5MP camera with 2K resolution, 180° FOV, person/motion detection, two-way audio, IR LEDs for night vision, chime (AU plug) with 10 tunes available, supports recorded voice messages, LAN Port (PoE version) and 2.4/5GHz WiFi support (WiFi version). You can use the Reolink app to access, playback and talk.

One of the big features this has compared to others (i.e. Ring) is that there's no monthly fees for using the cloud storage. Like other Reolink cameras it supports microSD cards, NVRs (Reolink, Blue Iris, Synology etc), RTSP streaming, FTP, Home Assistant, Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa.

AU$ based on current Mastercard rate at time of posting.

Not on this kind of deal with the special link.

AliExpress are hopeless when things go missing in the post…

Protip: Don't confirm delivery of items you haven't received. Otherwise you'll be in a world of pain.

        Protip: Don't confirm delivery

They deliberately put the 'Confirm' button right next to the 'Track' button. LOL

  • what s the water rating ? nothing mentioned in the specs…

    Edit : found it
Rely on It, Rain or Shine, With its water-resistant design, the video doorbell can handle harsh weather conditions and performs well no matter rain or shine.

  • Nearly as good as the $62/$70 USD deal a couple weeks back (due to AliExpress coupons at the time)

    • +2

Disappointing no one bothered to share that as a deal.

      • Yeh - i tried, but still don’t have my P’s yet!

        • +1

You've been a member for so long. Unusual you can't post.

          • @Clear: It's a Aliepxress specific rule I think - L platers can't do AliExpress deals. (And by member - that should really be lurker ;-))

            • @FrontBottom: Oh that makes sense. To prevent sockpuppets and stuff.

  • This is a great doorbell. And the physical chime is great in a pinch too if you haven’t wired it into HomeKit bridge or there’s any network issues.
You can 3d print suitable mounts for this doorbell too!
    (Just look on thingiverse)

    • I just installed mine with a 3d mount. Looks and works great. Super easy to set up.

Reolink Video Doorbell PoE/WiFi can replace the existing mechanical doorbell of your house. It can be installed to the existing doorbell wiring that offers a compatible power supply. Reolink Video Doorbell works with a power supply of 24V DC or 12-24V AC, 50/60 Hz. And it is compatible with most power systems of mechanical doorbells (16V AC, 50/60 Hz, 30 VA).
Note: Reolink Video Doorbell will not work with the existing mechanical chime you have installed before. Please use the video doorbell with the paired Reolink Chime.

They probably don't see what your point is?

Sounds a bit too good to be true. How can cloud storage be free, especially for video?

    • +2

It's something Reolink is pretty well known for. You're only getting 7 days of footage in the free plan, so on day 8 the day 1 footage is deleted.

Internet-connected cameras are absolutely a no-go for me to connect to a main network…
I'd rather it be re-flashed with some other firmware (preferably open-source or from someone with a good reputation in privacy), or if it can't be re-flashed, then connected to another network away from my other devices.

    • +3

You should look into creating isolated VLANs. Problem solved.

      • +4

exactly, an IOT network is a must have

      • +1

I’ve done this camera and many others and it works fine.
Add your home assistant on both the trunk and VLAN and you are good to go

    • Interesting, so what’s the danger. Someone stealing your doorbell and then accessing your wifi/other devices? (Non tech savvy person here)

      • Exploits/backdoors allowing access to the rest of your network from the outside. Or a dodgy device with malware on it.

  • +1

How would you go about installing and getting power out of the doorbell if you don’t already have an existing doorbell to use the wiring from?

    • need to call an electrician

  • +1

Can WiFi version of this doorbell be used as POE as well ?

  • Only the US version is $68.84 - the AU version is $73.34…

    • More accurately the price has been increased and the deal is over.

    1 for Inaccessible to Australians

Whoever reported this is silly. AU stock inaccessible to Australia. Check out works perfectly fine.

  • Scrypted recently adef support for this device, so you should be able to use it for HomeKit, if you’re in that ecosystem. I’ve successfully used it for some hacked Xiaomi cameras - worked a treat.

  • Still in stock for the WIFI model @ $77.84 USD! Thanks Clear!

EDIT: Nvm I can't read - the WIFI model still needs wiring for power and not powered by battery :(

    • Personally I’d recommend just running an Ethernet cable if you can, battery powered doorbells are a dicey proposition especially with video

Fyi for eBay plus members, this POE version is $105.82 (free postage) on the official reolink eBay page

    • Could only find @ $124.49 after coupon. Got a link?

  • Back in stock at original price.

If OOS again is $119.99 via Amazon
