It is a good sharpener.

This one has push button at back to toggle between blunt or sharp point.
Pencil holder has rubber instead of metal teeth so doesn't damage pencils.

  • Next thing I want to see is a Tesla lighter

      Never heard of Mitsubishi TVs?

      • The Boring Company has nothing to do with Tesla. The only link is Elon Musk. It's more closer linked to Space X than Tesla.

Linking them would be like saying PayPal are now creating brain chips (neuralink).

        • In that case, instead of a Tesla lighter, I'll buy a boring company electric car

    • Mitsubishi have been making pencil sharpeners since the late 50’s. I’ve been using a vintage hand crank one daily to keep my pencils sharp, but some of the balls occasionally need realigning from time to time.

        Meirl

      • Apparently, they make cars too.

        • I dont think they do anymore. I think they sold the business to Nissan a few years ago and now theyre all just rebadged nissans with some small cosmetic changes.

Lately, a lot of their cars have been lighters

  • +7

These sharpeners are so satisfying to use.

I used to have one… like 30+ years ago.. looks exactly the same! :)

    • +1

I had one on my homework desk back in the 60s, LOL. Though the one I had was all metal and looked to be a lot sturdier than this one.

      • +5

I still own my father’s Boston Standard metal pencil sharpener from the 60’s. It would have sharpened at least 1000 pencils in it’s life and the burr cylinders are still sharp as new. I think things in those days were made to last unlike new ones which fall apart with a year or two.

these things bring back unwanted memories

    Please consider.

I remember we had the same style sharpener when I was younger and me as an 8 year old kid didn't have a clue that they had metal teeth to grip the pencils….I was pretty upset after I ended up sharpening my new set of Derwents and then noticed they all had teeth marks afterwards. Good to see they now have rubber teeth.

I haven't used mine in years but would still highly recommend them to 90% of users.

I personally have been using an electric helical sharpener for quite some time now since it's easier on the wrists and so much faster.

  • Get the Dahle 133 if you're serious about sharpening your pencils.

    • +5

How serious can one be? Can you be a radical?

      • +9

I'll tell you what, it's definitely better 2B than not.

        • +4

          2B or not 2B?
          That is the real question.

      • +1

        You're not getting the point.

        • +3

          He is not sharp enough

  • Back in the days, we had this in every classroom.

    • +3

Yep, until Mitchell thought it was a good idea to sharpen his finger.

  • Expired?

  • Missed it :(

    • +1

Still available. Go to the bottom of the page "other sellers on Amazon"

      • +1

Aah I missed that. Thanks ordered one.

  • -6

Instructions unclear….. got my p***s stuck in the thing.

    • +3

Fair enough but WHY DID YOU CRANK THE HANDLE TOO?

      • Not sharp enough to know what not to do.

  • -1

why would anyone want these lol

    • +3

I can't speak for others, but once you use these, you won't want to go back to the other types of pencil sharpeners. These are so effortless.

  • Potential alternative, the Carl CS-108-R is on sale for a couple dollars more, and also shipped from Amazon Japan.

While I do not have the same model, I do have an older Carl "Angel" range model and can definitely vouch for it!

    Whats a pencil?

    • +2

It's John Wick's weapon of choice.

  • +1

Does it work on an Apple Pencil ?

    • +1

Sure. Your Apple Pencil might not though.
