Big Bang Theory Season 1 - 5 Blu-Ray Set $~70 Delivered from Amazon UK

410

Spotted this recent release of the Big Band Theory Blu Ray Season 1-5 which is an Amazon UK exclusive. Works out to be $75.71 inclusive of delivery once VAT is deducted using the automatic Amazon converter.

JB currently sells each season for either $39.98 or $47.99, and Season 5 is yet to be released here. All up same seasons would cost $220 at JB. So….$15 per season looks like a bargain to me!

Even if you moved the decimal place one number further to the left, it's STILL the big bang theory.

And really, that's what I dont like about it.

Sorry for voicing my dislike of this show :p Tho a few people have said don't watch past the first season.

Sacrilege! You're off my Christmas card list LOL.

Seriously, if you manage to move a decimal place to the left we would all have to Broden it!

    • +3

So you don't like it because you don't like it?

    • +4

I agree with that somewhat. Watch the first season, maybe the second. If you understand the moderately intelli-babble, its fairly good. As the series goes on however, they increasingly become caricatures of themselves, and the standard of humor lowered to make it more relatable.

Despite that, a lot of the jokes are still funny, and at $15inc a season worthwhile.

People don't realise how unfunny these Chuck Lorre shows are until the laugh track is removed, and you see just how much awkward pausing goes on as the cast waits for the laughter to subside.

I still thought it was funny…

        • I find awkward hilarious. Is there a way to get every episode like that?

        • +1

Chuck Lorre needs to be tried for crimes against humanity.

Most people think the same thing until they watch it and realise there are so many parts to like about the show.

Just because there are reasons to dislike it doesn't mean its not worth watching.

Did you meant rubbish is rubbish ?

    • And yet, you just had to enter the thread of something you don't like to VENT - that's kinda like pulling a Sheldon - Bazinga!!

  • Whoops meant to reply, not post new comment.

    Bazinga!!!

Damn, I'd kinda stopped buying blu-rays, but this is very tempting, nice find.

  • +5

no need to buy a blu ray/dvd set.
Just put your tv on ch 9 or GO and its on there pretty much all the time

    • +1

not in HD however - HD worth it just for Penny, IMO

      • I'd knock on her door anytime

      • Short, chubby blonde with a pretty face? I can see 10's of them in HD3D at the local shopping center

        • +5

But Penny is an excellent actress. So much so she has even has been in a hemorrhoid commercial.

        • +6

          Kaley Cuoco - chubby?
          The f**k?

        • Charmed? :D

  • +3

I'll hold out for a complete set, but a very tempting find

    • +11

Yeah, but BBT doesn't exist in 2006.

    • +4

Do they still exist? People still use those?

Back in the dark days of the internet, I found BearShare the most efficient means of downloading files….awesome, amazing files like viruses and trojans.

I LOVE canned laughter. It's also great to go to sleep listening to. Sometimes I just play hours of pre-recorded laughter on the long drive to work - it always keeps me smiling as laughter is so infectious I just can't stop. People in the cars nearby see me and start laughing too. It's all so much fun.

Ever wonder how funny these shows would be without the contagious 'laugh now' prompt?

Painfully awkward. These shows aren't so innately funny that we laugh by our own volition. By inserting a laugh track, they remove the brain's quality control as to what passes for humour. Essentially by telling us what is and isn't funny, we cackle along like Pavlovian hyenas even when the writing and delivery wouldn't normally be enough to elicit even a smile.

      • actually this show was just on TV. I changed the channel. Picking up the remote was a funnier experience than the show.

        Woof!

    • Not sure if joking, or madman.

      • Both. Take your you're yaw pick! ;)

  • 720p rips do the job for me

    • Are you the sole seeder?

  • Thanks for this. I ordered the ste. Had first 3 seasons on DVD, but absolutely love this show and can't help but add to my blu-ray collection. :-)

  • EzyDVD has the local version for $79.98 Delivered atm too
