    whats the savings?

    • +31

4.76% is the number you're looking for

      • +2

        magic number

      • +5

Noting this is larger than the 4% discount you'd usually get from other partner programs on Woolworths gift cards - this is slightly better.

However, a lot of partner programs provide 5% discount on Big W discounts - making this offer marginally worse.

        • +2

I usually end up stacking this with 10% off & Coles MC promos.

          • +1

@nsingh21: Just tried to buy one with digital Coles MC but payment couldn't be processed?

            • +6

@Craze: if you have paypal, add the MC to paypal and purchase that way. Works for me, I found Woolies block the coles MC's

          • @nsingh21: I used a Coles MC via PayPal to buy one for $250, successfully.

Then tried to buy a 2nd & 3rd but Woolies instantly said there was an issue, debited the amount from my card and said it will be refunded to PayPal in upto 10 days.
            Twice.
            Strange

            • @HiDave: Yeah, it is interesting indeed. I've had similar experiences across different merchants. More recently, PayPal didn't let me add new cards even after completing the 72hr cooldown period. Will suggest if you need more Woolies GC, you need to ask a friend (or use a friend's deets)

              • +1

@nsingh21: I emailed they about it yesterday.
Today they said they would manually verify next time.
I tried again twice and they both worked fine :)

                • 5% still vaid on the 22nd too guys.
        • +1

If you are a NSW senior you can get 5% discount on all woolworths affiliated gift cards, including wish gift cards

          • +1

@Monarogm: thanks mate, although when a Prezzee promo is on, they go upto 6.25%.

            • @nsingh21: Do you have a link to that past Prezzee deal? or is the $10 bonus on $150 deals?

              • @neezy: yep, the $10 bonus on $150 purchase, effectively 6.25% off if you use the $10 wisely (^ - ^)

          • @Monarogm: Sadly Vic is too cheap

            • @Mokr: Can definitely do this with senior's card in Victoria.

Having tested it, you don't get the 5% discount and +5% bonus however, no double dipping :(

  • +1

Promotional eGift Cards can also be bought through Everyday Gifting in the Everyday Rewards app and will be automatically added to your Everyday Pay wallet. Everyday Pay lets you collect points & split payments between your Gift Cards and bank card in-store (Woolworths & BIG W), letting you use every last cent on your Gift Cards.

    • +13

      You must be new here

    • +34

Please do not sunset the Woolworths Money app.
Not everyone wants to use Everyday Pay, especially when you can't make it say use Woolworths gift cards before Wish gift cards.

      • +1

I will be using Stocard over the Everyday pay for that reason, when Woolworths money is discontinued.

        • +2

or Catima (if you're on Android) without all the junk and permissions that comes with Stocard these days.

          • +1

@bamzero: Will use this - Cheers. Always looking for libre alternatives.

      • +2

Actually you can open Rewards app, then go to your wallet. Bring up the gift cards and then show barcode and PIN on any of them by tapping the gift card. So you can choose which specific giftcard to use by doing this

        • +5

yes that works, but is (deliberately?) a very slow & tedious exercise.

The money app was much faster at doing this.

Also EDR Pay makes it harder to switch between household EDR accounts (without having 2 devices / cloning apps)

        • +1

Money app is just easier when I have 4 everyday reward cards I cycle through a month for 10% off each week.

          • @Frozensage: It looks like you haven't realized that the App is to be phased out.

    • Tell em to stop trying to force us on to Everyday Pay.

I'm quite happy with the Money app thanks…

    • Too easy thanks

  • Does anyone know whether or not we can use this to buy the Ultimate Home Giftcard (x20 rewards point)?

    • would like to know as well

    • +2

No. Woolies and most retailers don't let you buy gift cards using gift cards

      • -1

Yes you can do that . I was for over 20 years until someone mentioned it openly on here . Genius

    • Nope.

    • +1

You can't use gift card to buy gift cards. Not sure about using Everyday Pay with gift cards linked inside though.

      • Tried to pay for Ultimate GC with EDR pay with gift cards added - nope, full amount was charged to linked credit card, not gift cards.

  • Can they be used at petrol outlets?

    • You can use the essentials purple gift cards at EG Ampol. However it's not in the promotion.

      • umm..and that's available with this deal?

    • No, supermarket and metro only.

    • +7

I highly doubt it, as EG Ampol is not listed as a retailer accepting either of these gift cards.

I tried redeeming a Woolworths Promotional gift card at EG Ampol a number of months ago, because Woolworths Promotional gift cards were a relatively new type of gift card and I thought there was a remote chance Woolworths Group forgot to correctly restrict the redemption of a new type of gift card. However, after entering the PIN, I got an error message saying my gift card’s balance was $0, even though the gift card’s actual balance was more than $0.

I suspect the same thing would happen if you tried to redeem a BIG W Promotional gift card at EG Ampol.

As an aside, Ampol service stations not operated by EG no longer accept any gift cards issued by Woolworths Group. This includes Ampol Woolworths MetroGo service stations, which is not at all confusing…

      • +1

I love you so much 😂

        • 2nd this ^ I pray to WookieMonster every night 🙏🏾

      • My local EG Ampol said they ONLY accept Wish GC from WW. I'm not sure if it is worth asking a try with other (fuel) GC.

        • +2

          These two also work:

EG eGC sold by Woolworths (also via Prezzee, etc.)

Physical Ampol giftcard (say EFTPOS payment)

    • No. Woolworths Group gift card specifically branded only work at the specific brand.

To use at the petrol outlets you need to get the specific brand or purchase one of the mutiple branded gift cards like wish.

    • No you can't but you can get 3% off EG Ampol gift cards from Student Edge or a Automobile Association (e.g. NRMA, RACV etc)

      • Ok, thanks. 3% is around 6c/ litre. Not too bad

      • Extra 5c off per litre with RACV too

  • Ever since upgrading my IOS to 17 I can no longer pay with credit card on your site. I get “something went wrong” error. Paying via PayPal still works. Not sure if it’s Woolworths issue or bank.

    • +2

Try spraying the phone with windex. It got rid of my gonorrhea

  • +1

I wonder if this combines with senior card 5% off WW gift cards

    • What is the URL for the senior gift cards? T&Cs state "Purchase a Qualifying Gift Card^ online at giftcards.woolworths.com.au/offers or through Everyday
Gifting in the Everyday Rewards app and receive an additional 5% face value on top of your base purchase amount." which normally excludes all the referral/partner programs since they have a different URL.

    • Is the senior card 5% off WW gift cards:

Pay $95 to get $100, or pay $100 to get $105?

      • Since you can choose the amount of the card, so really it could be either!

        • No it can't.

          Pay $95 to get $100 = 5% off
          $100 to get $105 = 4.76% off

    • +1

      It doesn't.

  • Is anyone able to login to the Everyday Rewards app using an email one-time verification code?

    • this is what happens when you have multiple accounts - lol

Anyways, it doesn't work for me either, but will work on desktop.

  • +2

Got an email saying my order is been rejected.

Thank you for your interest in Woolworths Gift Cards.

Unfortunately, there has been an error processing your order.
As a result, we are cancelling the following item(s) from your order

    WTH, never happened to me.

    • There must be an issue with the payment portal as I have also just received the same errors when attempting to pay with PayPal (Pay now and Pay in 4) and a Visa Credit Card.

      • Try to buy it again but the "Proceed to Payment" button is grey out.

        • make sure all your details are entered correctly 🤷🏾‍♂️ mine was autofill, but the address wasn't completed

  • +1

I feel like the 4% deal through most partner programs will suffice.
That way i just buy $100 at a time, anytime i need a top up. Compared to this deal that requires you to buy now for minimal savings.
If you dont have access to those platforms though this is a good deal

  • I have access to 4% at any one time. I would rather put my money into variable home loan interest rate > 5%

    • +1

The 4% is instant. The 5%+ home loan interest is paid over a year.

      • Its close why? 4.76% - 4% - (5%/12) < 0.3% (the difference)

    • Did you finish school?

      • +1

Rofl, some people think they are real clever!

      • Have a look at my calculation above

  • +1

Good offer, and nice to see PayPal's pay in 4 is available as an option at no extra cost. Two of the repayments will be in the next credit card period, saving a little bit more money on interest (card paid off every month).

  • With my interest rate on my home loan at 5.84% I'm better off keeping my money in my offset now then buying these. Could be same for a few of you too.

    • Yep, in the past I would buy up to 1 year's worth of cards. Now I limit to how much I use up in 3 or 4 months.

    • +3

Buy this GC on CC. Pay off CC in 30 days time from HL. Win-win.

    • Only if you plan on keeping the gift cards for a year or more and not using them. The home loan interest rate 5.85% is per annum while the gift card benefit is 4.xx% immediately p

      • I'll take ~4% right now, inflation is pretty rampant right now, easy decision.

  • Of course this pops up the day after I bought some from RAC with 4% discount…

  • +3

Remember, you can get 5% off wish card if u know someone with a senior card.

    • +1

      how?

    • Are there any known limits on how many GCs can be bought by one cardholder? Wouldn't want to start borrowing my relative's card only to realize later they hit a roadblock.

      • +1

It's not advertised, but if you buy 2 X 2.5k blocks rapidly, it shadow bans the senior account and Woolies customer team doesn't know how to unlock it.

        How I know:
Because I've done it before, and the same credit card that was denied in the seniors portal (WISH, woolies portal) is accepted when clicking through the Woolies mobile portal (lower discount)

Luckily my extended family are all seniors so I have many accounts to fall back on to permanently access the 5% WISH e-gift through

        • Thanks mate, I definitely don't expect to need $2.5k in quick succession but this is exactly what I'm worried about in relation to account sharing. If blocked, its gonna be hard to go back to the owner and tell them you rekt it. To be fair, 2x 2.5k is a lot in my opinion, I might at best be doing $200 every week (but unsure if this is enough to trigger any fraud rules)

          • +1

            @nsingh21:

I might at best be doing $200 every week (but unsure if this is enough to trigger any fraud rules)

$200 a week will be okay in my experience

To be fair, 2x 2.5k is a lot in my opinion

            COVIDflation hitting hard these days..

            • @cwongtech: Thanks a ton. Will report back if any issues arise.

  • @GC lover Hey mate - bought the Woolies gift card and received the link. When I click on the link, details don’t show up. Can you help?

    • Open the link on a desktop, if not "There's a eGC resend request under the main page".

  • The fact that they're still hiking prices of goods makes me cynical about a 5% discount. A dozen Woolworths barn eggs for example just recently went up again to $5.00 from $4.60 in Brisbane, or ~9%. This is after multiple price increases since 2021. What's the point of 5% off if they're continually increasing prices?

    • to keep up with the price increases 🤷🏾‍♂️ or are you saying shop somewhere else?

      • Just saying, it's not quite 5% off if they turn around and raise prices at the same time. Although, it might pay to look at Aldi or something, to see if they're cheaper overall.

        • yeah, just saying, still cheaper to get the gift card discount thn no discount gift card 😅

yeah, already did a "Aldi cheaper… really?" post.

SPOILER: they Aldi aint cheaper for me 🤣

  • 5% off BigW gift cards via MyNRMA app

  • Mark

    • Mark doesn't work as it may be ended earlier like before.

  • +1

So much hate for a simple 5% off grocery gift card, no stupid activation fees, straight into my everyday pay paying with my linked card, the easiest transaction for a gift card I’ve ever done. Compare this to the dramas I had with that coles Amazon deal

  • Anyone knows why the payment transaction keeps getting rejected? Is it fully sold out?

  • Keep getting payment failed. Such a terrible ecommerce website.
