looks the same as Kmarts Companion https://www.kmart.com.au/product/campmaster-ultralight-hikin… $59. I do have other Firemaple products and they are reasonable quality however.

    • yep, looks the same.

    • same, I have got some firemaple products, good quality and nice designs

You can also combine with a butane canister adaptor like this https://www.snowys.com.au/butane-cartridge-adaptor for the elcheapo cans - I have seen cheaper ones than snowey's , just an example for pictures

It does not work too well with this adapter as the canister lays sideway which pushes the liquefied gas instead of gas, tried it before which made big fire out of the stove, might have to adjust the angle but its hard to work with while the fire is on.

No different than the regular butane square cookers with the cylinder laying flat?

      • +1

The line on the side is the side the straw inside the can lays - this is the same as the lunchbox stoves , just need to line that up

What's wrong with the BRS3000T, a Toaks Ti pot and a piece of foil? Heaps lighter and about the same price.

    • Thats the thing I have. Good point about the foil, bit fragile to survive for long imho. I just weighted it, the burner, pan and pot I have is 370g.

It was only ever that high price to justify the shipping to Australia. They prob bulk shipped some to Australia and can now offer regular shipping. Price is similar to US sellers to US customers.

  • Can you do anything with these cooking wise other than boiling water?

Ones with pressure regulator can be turned low enough for simmer. Check the Soto Windmaster.
