This is one notch higher than QHD with a few more vertical pixels.
Honestly it's fine at a sane desktop viewing distance.
MacOS has some weird scaling thing where it makes text look blurry and stuff like that. Not sure why but you seem to need a 4K display to make it not blurry.
Hmmm… shame it is so pricey, it would make a good backglass monitor for a virtual pinball cabinet… but not at that price.
Thousands of cheap used monitors on ebay since you're probably pulling the case off anyway.
Not a huge amount of 30” 16:10 monitors though. That size fits nicely in a standard pinball backbox. 16:10 is also a bit closer to the original aspect ratio of some pinball backglass images so less distortion.
There are plenty since Dell have been making 30 inch Ultrasharps at this ratio for like 15 years lol
@Merlict: They have been making them for that long yeah but they rarely come up on ebay from what I can see. They occasionally pop up on Gumtree or facebook marketplace.
It may be different outside Australia, but on ebay.com.au at the moment there are no listings for U3011, there's 1 3007WFP, 1 3008WFP in Western Australia for pickup only it seems.
That's not heaps in my opinion.
@Merlict: For what it's worth, I'm not the one downvoting you.
That's a lot for not being 4K!

Or oled
Pretty good monitor. One of the only 16:10 options available.
better option?
BenQ 32 Inch Designer Monitor, 3840x2160 4K UHD, IPS, 100% sRGB, Hotkey Puck, Dual View, HDMI, DP, PD3200U https://amzn.asia/d/7lMrHM4That's 16:9. People buying this monitor are after the 16:10 aspect ratio, otherwise there are plenty of better options available, even in Dell's ultrasharp lineup.

Most people don't seem to get the benefit of 16:10. Finding anything above 24" these days is really hard.
The fact that Dell still make this, and are updating it every few years, shows there is still a market for it.
I've been seriously considering this monitor for a while, but my 24" is still going strong …
3840x2160 is still more real estate than 2560x1600 though, even though it's 16:9
@m3ndL3: To say that just shows you don't understand why 16:10 is desirable for some.
That's OK, though. If you're happy with 16:9, you do you.
Please explain the benefit
@bleeder: I'm not about to try and convert you. If you see no benefit - which you clearly don't - then be happy with your 16:9 monitor.
No one who prefers a 16:10 monitor will think any less of you …
@photonbuddy: To me I feel like I would prefer a little bit of extra height, I'd probably prefer 16:10, but the difference didn't look like that much

It might not look much different, but one difference I appreciate is being able to watch a movie/TV show full width, and still have the taskbar visible.
I have a 27" QHD, and found that the resolution is a bit low when connected to a MacBook. Is 30" QHD too low?
