[Android] Free $0 - Xproguard AppLock (Was $16.99) @ Google Play

410

Details: Xproguard AppLock is an AppLocker or App Protector that will lock and protect apps using a password or pattern and fingerprint.
Choose a lock model, lock apps you want. Xproguard AppLock is the best way to prevent intruders who want to open your locked apps without your permission.
Your privacy is important for us. Keep your apps safe with this locking app!

I specifically wanted an APP Locker for my Car-Play unit to lock Outlook email access in-case of the car getting stolen. This works really well to provide a minor layer of protection and NO, I'm not holding any national security interests, just don't want people trying to change my passwords thru forgot password links etc. I tried many others, this worked best and really like that it has a setting to enable 10 sec - 60 sec time out and re-lock after using an APP.

This provides no layer of protection.

Neither does the the entrance door and lock to my house, but I still prefer to have it 😊

Except the lock on your door can’t be removed by clicking uninstall.

Apps like this are beyond pointless. You’re just wasting resources installing it.

        • Maybe we can get the devs of these security apps to put a setting with password administrative rights to stop uninstall? … just a thought? Maybe they have that already? Yep, they do😊

If I agree, I plus, if I disagree on Ozb, I normally just look away! Went to use a neg some years ago on ozb and message came up this is your first neg do you really want to use it? So I backed down. Haven't ever negged since joining Ozb. Lame? yes I agree, a true wimp when its comes to negs!

Samsung users will have Secure Folder already, which is much better.

So your car is going to get stolen with your phone in it?

So you're anticipating a car jacking?

I don't get it. Your car head unit has a sim card or something in it? Or has outlook installed?

    • +2

I have installed an android car play or head unit in my car. Downloaded Outlook from Google play as the head unit is an android device and have internet tethered thru Bluetooth from my phone. Hope that answers your questions.

Yep. Curious why you'd install outlook? When you have your phone handy and it'd be easier to type on your phone?

        • You are right, not really necessary to install outlook, so WHY? Because I can! Isn't that what life is all about? We do things sometimes even though they don't make sense, but we do it, because we can! 😊

@MMM: At least you solved the problem that didn't need to exist with a free solution ;)

  • Can i use this on my pixel?

    • Sure, but you shouldn’t.

      • +1

can I ask what we should use on Pixel? I've found applock is pretty ok.

I tried Applock but is now full of ads, so didn't get very far and uninstalled. If it works for you then that's fine, they all have a basic function to stop uninstall of the app by activating administrative rights. The reason I like Xproguard AppLock was NO Ads, and also the feature to switch the re-lock timing within 10-60seconds. I didn't experience this with others I tried.
