this weekend. Ferny Grove, Willawong, Chandler and Nudgee.
Pretty self explanatory really, time to get your garden ready for summer!

Did you check your council rates bill to see if it includes green waste processing fee?
Don't Brisbane City Council charge rates?
Green waste bin is optional in Brisbane. I can see a specific charge for the green bin collection fee in my bill.

I wouldn't even look at that…. Every single house in our street pays a different amount for rates.
It is the council's job to dispose of waste, that is why we pay rates.
@BennyHe2018: Gheezz I wish the green bin was optional on the GC. Tate has just gifted all GC residents with a green bin that sits out the backyard and does jack shit (in my case). Plus it conveniently bumps the rates up.
@BennyHe2018: If it's optional that's a bit unfair of them to offer it for free. My council in their infinite wisdom made recycling bins an optional extra WTF?
Maybe thats because you live in Victoria and not Brisbane. In Brisbane we need to pay to dump our waste, however this weekend it's free meaning people are able to save money.
It might shock you that the world doesn't revolve around you, but you learn something new everyday.
You learn something new everyday or you DIE.
So you don't pay rates?
I do and through that we are given 10x100kg waste vouchers per year. This is however in addition to that meaning I can use them on dumping other stuff. Some people will find that useful as they might be doing home renovations or something which will use up their vouchers, some people probably won't find it useful as they already struggle to use all 10 vouchers. Everyone is different though.
@EFC94: Some people that find it useful should shoulder the entire cost, rather than everyone else subsidising them.
jv has found a new level of unhelpful pointless comments
yet you keep choosing to read them…
Residents only?
Do you need to reside at the dump ?
reside at the dump
Yes, Brisbane residents.
In assessing whether a free green waste weekend is a deal for them, Brisbane residents should be aware that in many other areas in the country there is no charge for green waste taken to the dump. Other forms of waste, yes, green waste, no. Perhaps they should suggest to their council that they don't charge for green waste either.
Yes I agree with you :)
Bcc Won't even give us a yearly green waste kerbside collection like our lowly bogan cousins in Logan City. So given the context, yes, unfortunately this is a deal.
Nice of BCC to provide limited notice.
Anyway also on 7-8 October & 11-12 November.
If you install the Brisbane Bin App it will remind you. Also I think green bins are 50% off at the moment. Invaluable in summer !
And for everyone whingeing. Move to any of the other council areas aside from BCC and its free. You even get free mulch at Moreton !! Amazing how do they do it. Best to ask Schrinner.
As a resident of the Redlands (an LGA in the greater Brisbane area) we get access to the waste and recycling centre's included in our rates.
Genuinely surprised BCC area's aren't the same.
Hello fellow Redlander!
Wait.. Brisbane charges for compostable waste as extra but landfill is included in the rates?? Or am I reading this wrong?
My green waste has dried out and now it's more a light brown. Dr said it's normal. Hopefully the council accepts it
Red bin is part of the rates, green bin is an added extra yes.
I just paint all my garbage gre……
How is this a bargain ?
My green waste gets collected for free every week
