Until stocks last*
Seems like a good deal. Just bought an ultrabook myself but this would have been tempting if I hadn't of.

Agreed. Thats a lot of money for a Sandybridge ultrabook.
If you really want this, you can get a 10% coupon from Powerbuy: http://www.powerbuy.com.au/dell-xps-13-laptops-coupon/
Also I'm not sure but you might be able to apply the usual NRMA/club % discounts on top.
That's if you really want a sandy bridge ultrabook though because the superior ivybridge ones have been out for a while (samsung series 9, asus zenbook prime).
Generally you cant apply multiple coupons, let alone even 1 coupon to a Dell if it already has cash off.
Damn, I was editing it but it didn't let me.
Most the time it's better to call up and order from the dell outlet: http://www1.ap.dell.com/content/topics/segtopic.aspx/product…
You can get them for ~$800 if you don't mind a refurbished one.
when are they going to upgrade to a 3rd gen I-core cpu?
Soon, I would say, hence the clearance sale :-)
and with windows 8 just around the corner, its a pretty bad time to buy a sandy with w7.
still seems too expensive
I herd Dell XPS 13 Ultrabooks is or already has come with a new feature called DragonSpeak developed by Intel a bit like Siri or Google Now but for laptops.
If it isn't on this model, it's better to wait because it is coming soon.
It's called Dragon naturally speaking.

Who the hell uses this crap? Why base the purchase of a laptop just for a software that can be purchased/bootlegged?
Not quite, it actually is more of an assistant, rather than their usual Naturally Speaking line. Intel is working in conjunction with Nuance to get the software onto Ultrabooks, and integrated into other OEM software. I believe it will be on the XPS 13.

Nothing to buy a laptop over, but an interesting feature, nonetheless (I suppose it's usefulness is still up for debate, but it is interesting at to where it'll go)
I don't understand how Dell can still sell that when you've got deals like $1399 Vaio T ultrabook with 3rd Gen I series cpus: http://www.scorptec.com.au/computer/47620-svt13117fgs
