I have some reservations after reading the info on this corporate relationship map

    • +4

As I want it for legal purposes it does not bother me. Autorenewal already cancelled, payment info - don't care with disposable card. Trash Email used for registration. Used in the past and it is one of the faster VPNs out there. For the price, I can't fault it.
But I agree, if you are very privacy cautious, whistleblower, spy, investigative journalist etc… Please use some other VPN.

      • +1

        Any other suggestions?

        • +1

I've read that Proton VPN is the best for privacy with true 0-logs etc etc. However it is only what I've read when googling and reading VPN guides.

Never used them, or done thorough investigation, but everyone seems to say they are the best for true privacy.

But 98% off Nord is extremely tempting, but like they say, "when a product is free, you are the product".

      • Legal or illegal purposes aside, hearing you've purposely used a burner email and card sounds to me like you don't trust them with your personal data/ID?

        • Using burner emails and/or card numbers is a no brainer in this day and age. Given the amount of data being unknowingly shared with third-parties, any form of protection of personal details (versus blindly trusting a company at their word) can hardly be a bad thing.

      • IIRC a while ago I read that cashbacks were getting rejected because auto renewal was turned off? MIGHT not be for Nord, i just remember one of the vpn doing it and people were turning it off only after cashback approval.

        • I changed my debit card after paying lol (said i lost my old one and got my bank to send me a new one)

          • +1

@Bladeyyy21: I put one down that's expiring next year, got the 2 year plan haha

  • I currently have nordvpn with my Hotmail (same email as my shop back account), and account is expiring soon

Can I sign up to nordvpn with my Gmail and use my Hotmail shopback account for this

And yes, I know, Hotmail is for boomers.

    • +4

Previous deals say you just need to use a new email when signing up again with Nord.

You don't need to create a new shopback account, you can use the one you have already.

  • Does it connect to Indian servers

    • +1

      No Indian servers.

    • Other than for Indians themselves, why are Indian servers popular?

      • EPL

Does Nord work with all the dodgy Turkish (and others) subscription hacks?

    • Yup. I've had it running with Turkey for Netflix, Spotify and Apple ID as well as Argentina for YouTube Premium.

  • +1

code doesn't work anymore, price before cash back is $153.50 AUD

  • Yeah takes the code but price remains the same

  • -1

    please post tracked amount too

  • Does it support port forwarding?
And does it reach 100mbps on their servers?

  • +6

I used this same deal from ShopBack about one week ago.
I paid AUD$153.50 and it got tracked for AUD$151.58. So only AUD$1.92 for 2 years + 3 months of NordVPN.
Apparently the cashback should arrive by early November.
I used a c/c that has no international transaction fees and I also selected a country with no tax to get the price of USD$102.33 and no more.
I have used NordVPN for the previous three years with no issues and it works great for what I need it for.
I just used a different email to sign up to NordVPN but the same ShopBack account as always to get the New Customers Only deal.
I hope this info helps someone.

  • +1

    I'm getting $102.33

  • +1

Hmm mine expires in Dec, dont really use it tbh but for $5 its good to have incase. Is everyone else's tracking ok? Will changing the country affect the cashback, since they can come back saying 'this is for Shopback Australia and you've signed up for Macau' or something… lol

  • So nobody can get the lower price/purchase tracked with this deal?

When I open my Shopback app and search for NordVPN it shows a thumbnail with NordVPN logo and "upsized" tag and says "98% cashback" and "was 20%", same in the splash screen when it takes me to NordVPN.

But the code from this post is not mentioned anywhere and NordVPN website loaded in my Shopback app says $86.13 (+ VAT/GST, that's all USD, I assume) for the first 2 years + 3 months. The code from this deal doesn't seem to lower it in any way.

I'm hesitant as it's too different from what the OP described and after reading the comments.

    • I can see the code in my Shopback app. https://ibb.co/RHMQTjV

I haven’t used this exact deal yet as I am still on the 100% Cashback from TopCashback.

But again, I can see both the upsized cashback and the mentioned promo code in my Shopback app. That’s why I posted it

    • same here

    • +4

I paid A$129.20 and received confirmation from Shopback for A$126.29

      • Thank you for sharing! Hope this helps others who are still in doubt.

        • +3

BTW I chose a tax free region (British Virgin Islands) at checkout

          • @wots: Did you use the voucher code?

            • +1

@[Deactivated]: Price was the same with or without the code, I think I didn't use it

              • @wots: how long it takes for the cashback to be tracked?
also how can I cancel auto subscription so I won't be charged in 2 years time?

                Thanks.

                • +3

@lansome: Took 35 minutes to track. I've turned auto renewal off on NordVPN's site: account, billing, subscriptions.

      • +2

I can also confirm. Purchased the 'standard' package for a displayed '$86.xx' - ignore the line where it says it's AUD; it isn't. Paid via 28 Degrees card for A$129.20 and received confirmation from Shopback for A$126.29 as well. SB took about 30mins to send the email.

        • Thanks for the info!

      • Thanks OP! And @wots! I just purchased the 2 yr plan +3 months sub - cost me $129.60 AUD.
Wondering, how long did it take you all for receiving the shopback confirmation (roughly $126)?

Edit* never mind, I just received the email from SHOPBACK that my $126.98 is being tracked!

  • Does anyone have any comments re Shopback's reliability in eventually paying the Cashback, despite it tracking? There are some comments here https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/793365

    • +1

NordVPN has got a 30 day money back guarantee. If it doesn't track and you don't want to take the risk, you can always get the refund within this first month

    • have been using it for few years, very reliable.

      • +1

My comment had nothing to do with Nord or their money back guarantee or tracking. It was about some comments made in the thread I linked about having to chase up Shopback for the actual cashback. The cashback date would be well after 30 days. The comments were about the difficulties they'd experienced in getting the cash after successful tracking.

  • +1

Thanks OP. subscribed to 2 year plan. Waiting for shopback CB to track..Also tried various countries vpn server like US, Singapore, NA and Australia but unable to view any indian content channel website like disney+hotstar.

    • You are most welcome!

      • CB $126.29 tracked just now. Although I was looking to access indian content. Do you know which vpn still allows to access indian content?

        • So the exact amount as the commenter above. Perfect.

No sorry, no idea. What about the surf shark deal? There was a comment on that deal about Indian vpns

  • I've been using PIA for two years, and I like its ad-blocking feature (MACE). However, I've struggled with frequent Google CAPTCHAs. Before renewing my subscription, I'm considering switching to NordVPN. Can anyone share their experience with NordVPN's ad-blocking and CAPTCHA bypass? Is it better or worse than PIA in this respect? Thanks for any insights!

    • have Nord for couple of years and its absolutely easy connecting
less CAPTCHA for sure depend on the site/ sever you trying to use

    • Thanks for that.

What is the most popular package here: Standard, Plus or Complete?

  • Nord or Surfshark ?
    please share your comments

    • Will05, mate I have 1000/50 superloop internet with deco x68 mesh system. Performance wise both seems liittle slow in comparison to no vpn usage but surfshark is more slower than nord especially when you dont opt for fast connection and choose indian virtual vpn server. Thats my experience maybe others dont face the same issue. Thanks

      • Thanks for sharing@toyapple9
I will stick with Nord then, got 3months as bonus too (24+3)

Thanks OP! And @wots! I just purchased the 2 yr plan +3 months sub - cost me $129.60 AUD.
Wondering, how long did it take you all for receiving the shopback confirmation (roughly $126)?

Great! It’s nice to hear when posts are appreciated.

I just received the email from SHOPBACK that my $126.98 is being tracked!

        • +1

Sweet! Don’t forget to turn off auto-renewal and enjoy your cheap VPN!!

  • +1

Cost me 129.20 and shopback just confirmed 126.98 cash back. Confirmation email took about 20 minutes after purchase.

    Great deal.

    Thanks OP!

    • +1

      <3
That’s what I like to hear. Don’t forget to turn off auto-renewal

  • How long after tracking it takes to actually able to withdraw money ?

    • +1

      Couple of months

  • +1

Has the price of the Standard plan just increased from US$88.xx to US$102.33?

  • +1

I see shopback shows only 20%cashback.

    • Same here..only 20% cashback.

  • Bought last night, cashback was shown in Shopback app, but I have yet received the confirmation email from Shopback, is it normal?

    • Usually once it's in the app it's confirmed so no need to worry.

  • Is NordPass any good? Better than Google ?

  • Thoughts on the Standard version?

    • +1

Got it from the 100% TCB deal a while back, happy with it for streaming

  • +1

Paid $129.20 with 28Degrees this morning. Shopback shows $128.36 cashback.

  • Can I get cashback if I sign up through a new email on nord? I've never gotten cashback but I did join nord for 1 month ages ago?

Shopback isn't tracking yet… I hope it will

  • Does this work for the Complete Plan?

  • I did it in incognito, how long does it take to track? it shows that i clicked in shopback dashboard
129.20 aud with Wise, (so i can cancel the virtual card later)
edit: ok i just got the email, 128.48 cashback, ($0.72 total cost)

  • Looks to be expired now. "New NordVPN Customers Only
