  • Hmmmm tempting

  • Yes, very tempting. A deal that makes you go hmmmmm. Need just the right combination of words of encouragement to send me on a cart filling frenzy.

I sold my car, wife and kids just for an SSD. Now my computer boots and shutdowns in 6 seconds. I have no regrets.

      • I hope she is not reading this post.

Her computer is still booting up.

    • I got 99 problems but game loading times isn't one of them

      • My computer boots up in around 30 seconds…if only it was 24 seconds faster

Do you also have an SSD caddy in stock so I can replace my optical drive in my Lenovo laptop?

  • so many to choose … this one or crucial M4, Samsung 830 ?

    • Intel has the best rep, but you can't go wrong with the M4 either.

Samsung 830. Unless you are favouring price over performance; then this.

      • How do i know if this http://www.shoppingsquare.com.au/p_401759_Samsung_830_series… fit to my laptop, It's a 1st gen i3 compaq HP presario cq41 209tx. Thanks

        • +1

It should. It's the same form factor as your existing laptop drive.

        • Thank you very much.

        • It might not - the Samsung drives are 7mm high, the Intel 330 is 9.5mm high. I recently bought a new HP G6 laptop (that $399 one from MLN posted on Ozbargain the other day), and it ONLY takes 9.5mm drives. The standard Samsung 830 won't fit, only the more expensive "laptop kit" versions but they are harder to find.

The Intel 330 and Crucial M4 are both 9.5mm drives though. :)

          FYI - My desktop has a 128Gb Crucial M4, my HTPC has a 64Gb Crucial M4, my daughter's computer has a 64Gb Samsung 830 and my new laptop has a 120Gb Intel 330. :D

        • SSD for the whole family!

        • I can't handle computers without SSD's these days. :D

Frewer, the easiest way to check is to actually pull out the drive in your laptop and take a look what it supports. Many will only fit 9.5mm drives (depending on how they're screwed or slotted in).

My HP specifically says 9.5mm high drives only, for example. :)

        • Where do you get that specification ?

        • +1

A ruler :) Measure the drive that you take out?

        • man im so behind all these techy

        • ok the HDD is in a 9mm case, the HDD itself looks like 7mm. So technically both 7mm and 9mm fit in my laptop isn't it ?

  • These are nice drives, but the 520's are kinda not displayed anymore.
    Still a great price.

  • for $10 more, buys 240GB Kingston SSD for $149. http://www.shoppingexpress.com.au/buy/kingston-svp200s3-240g…

    • Which, if size is the only spec you're going to look at, it way less value than a mechanical drive.
