Can't personally vouch for focal (haven't tried them) but compared to MSRP and other sales this seems to be a killer deal if you want audiophile closed back headphones.

Can I connect a bluetooth adapter / receiver to this and make it wireless?
Something like the Fiio btr5 will do the trick for this. I love mine! Use if for my sennheiser hd560's and my letsuer s12 pro IEM's and works perfect for both those. Connects to my ipad, phone and my apple tv perfectly.
Thanks
Bought these on sale last week, so far they sound incredible with some EQ.
share EQ if you can? Equalizer APO?
Equalizer APO/Peace - using Oratory 1990 Elegia EQ settings. Also tried this EQ and sounded great as well https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bqi54jd83uM&t=998s&ab_channe…
Thank you! Will give these a go
@Paavam: This reddit post links to a bunch of EQ targets, including Crinacle and Headphones.com (although their Elegia EQ is missing from the list). I find the IEF (Crinacle) target suits my ears a bit more. For me, the Harman target (which is what Oratory 1990 targeted) has a bit too much treble for my liking. No hate on Oratory the person who has done the industry much good!
Guy at work paid $700 a few weeks ago, ouch
Also the closed back design made me feel sea sick after awhile
A strong seal with the sound pumping through would create a somewhat pressurised environment. If you're sensitive to sound pressure changes near your ears, I'm not surprised you felt nautious, though motion sickness with closed backs is more common in ANC headphones.
You can improve this by creating a less perfect seal and/or reducing the head clamp force by adjusting it, then perhaps stretching the headband a little over a suitable stack of books or a block.
Got these the other week. They are nice for the current price but I'd be unimpressed for the retail price.
I'll be buying the dekoni focal earpads, which apparently improve the bass and running them with a ifi dac for a warmer signature. As others have said, the oratory EQ also works well for me.
Overall, Im happy with the purchase at this price as they definetly feel like a premium product. And with some slight work they apparently shine.
They also run fine off my lgv30 with plenty enough volume so don't feel I need an amp.
These earpads?
https://addictedtoaudio.com.au/products/dekoni-audio-midnigh…Getting a Dac with bass boost maybe a better option.
These ones. There are good reports online about them.

My ifi zen DAC has a bass boost feature, can't say I ever use it really (and using as more of a pre-amp to headphone amp and/or exclusive mode in tidal).
You shouldn't really need that though, or have to EQ but alright to try it out. I've tried peace EQ before, probably ok if you use Foobar and windows etc.
Yeah, EQ would probably be the first option.
Thanks
Surely at this price they are well worth it without worrying about the competition
They're old, poorly tuned closed backs with deficient lower midrange and horrible deficiencies in pinna gain region. To the non technical people: this means thin male vocals, unclear female vocals, and that EQ is compulsory for these headphones.
I am personally against buying headphones only to eq them immediately after. HD600 or 6XX is better in almost every regard. and to those arguing that they're closed back and 6x0 is open back: these don't even isolate sound all that well in the first place for sound coming in (although it does reduce sound leaking out much better).
I bought Elegia on sale at a different time. To this day they are my most regretful purchase at $799ish AUD after trying to go higher end in terms of headphone purchase. Music sounded so lifeless, dull and off. Bought HD600 soon after and would rather hands down pick the HD600 over the Elegias. I haven't tried the 6XX but apparently its a warmer HD600 and would still go for that. Also the stock Elegia cable is garbage.
Have you heard the Clear's?
I have but only as a demo. Comparing to the HD600 when I was at A2A. It is better than the HD 600 but the increased mid bass and subbass kinda put me off since I wanted neutrality. Also I have a large head and fairly large ears. Mainly head since I felt that the Clears to be a bit small for my head and the earcups were a tad small. To put how big my head is. I have the HD 600 fully extended and it barely fits. Thats also including the head dent of wearing headphones for about 10 years before I switched to IEMs as my source of music.
Have to give props to AddictedToAudio. They have had some amazing deals over the years.
People complain about audiophile gear being too expensive, but we in Australia actually get much better treatment than other countries, at least with headphones and speakers (not so much amps). I picked up a pair of Sony MDR Z7M2s from AddictedToAudio for just $420 back in 2019. Can't get them for less than $1200 now.Yeah the Zen DAC has gone up 100$ since I got mine for $199. No one said it has to be overly expensive.
Is this a better deal than Radiance when they went for 700? Are they comparable?
Not a huge audiophile but have Sony M7s to go with a Hidizs DAC + amazon music which is the extent of my HQ set up lol. Not sure if worth it to get closed headphones since I never used a pair and unsure if I'd even hear any difference compared to the IEMs really. The price seems amazing tho.
Opens for home listening, you already got IEMs for Isolation and portable. Need at least one pair of headphones, different experience and comfort.

If you don't already own a HD650/6XX, grab the 600.
Better closed back headphones are coming through now that will be of better quality than this, such as the Audeze Maxwell.
