@gotyourback THANKSDAD code doesn't seem to be listed on Shopback - might invalidate the 13.2% CB??

Says the following on discount page but code itself not listed.

Says Up to 55% off ThinkPad & Yoga PCs + earn reward points on all purchases
Give dad the gift of tech. Up to 54% off a range of PCs & accessories

Expand notes section in shopback, says cashback is eligible on any promo code listed in lenovo website regardless of whether its listed on shopback. However it does state 2 oyher promo codes that are ineligible

Fingers cross it will track, this laptop fit my requirements so pulled the trigger.

        • If it doesn't track, and it's a deal breaker, you should be able to cancel with Lenovo. They normally take a few days or more before they start building and it's basically an automatic cancel until then

        • Please let us know if it tracks, considering pulling the trigger myself.

          • +1

@JaiQiBoi: it does say it will take 2 days to track via the shopback app, provided the deal is still on by then! will keep an eye out for it.

          • @JaiQiBoi: Mine tracked within 2 hrs or so, no problem. I went through the app, already had the cart ready

@nigel deborah: Thanks for getting back to me!

            • @nigel deborah: This could be a noob question, where do you check the tracking? Is it under "Cashback Overview"?

              • +1

@Dlinnz: You'll get an email, and you'll see it in your lifetime earnings under pending

It's cheap but I've got 5 Monitors, 7 notebooks with 3 still in the box, 1 SSD 1TB, 3SSD 2TB brand new, and 2 iMac mini just bought it a couple days ago. Thanks to oz bargain's buy now and think later spirit!

    • That's hoarding my dude, save your pennies

    • imagine all the eneloops and Big Man Tyron's videos you could have ordered instead..

      • So. How many softserve cones could YasimKudomi Pape could have bought instead? I wonder. 🤔

        • enough to get a heart attack for every liberal member of the parliament, to the moon and back

          rough estimate, give or take

  • Blimey this is nice. I don't seem to have others ability to work the lenovo site - do they have a 14" version of basically the same specs/price? (obviously smaller battery, and likely a U CPU)

    • I'd like to know this too :)

      • I posted some 14" ideapad 5 versions here, but unfortunately the sceen isnt as good on the 14" models.

Would prob need to look at a yoga 7 pro

        • They're all 16gb however, which is why this one is such amazing value lol. 32gb is commonly a huge price increase.

Cheers for the tip about the yoga. I'll go have a look =)

  • Any rec for model on sale with RJ45? Need to use regularly so not keen on dongle

    • +1

Not sure but it feels like these are slowly being phased out of thin and light laptops and therefore laptop options with these might be limited. Maybe an rj45 to usbc adapter would be more practical and open you up to more laptop options, or even a hub

      • Yes seems as if gaming laptops are primarily models that retain port. Thanks might need to get adapter

        • Yep they are thicker for more cooling so they don't mind the extra space needed

As above, just get a dongle, plenty fast and reliable enough

  • Would welcome recommendation similar to this but with RAM slot. Cheers

    • +1

Ideapad and yogas seems to be soldered… so you may need to look at thinkpads…also noticed HP seem to retain ram slots on a few models but they also cost more

      • +2

For some reason the ThinkPads at Lenovo, at least in Australia, all seem to have crappy screens..well spec'd otherwise

        • Thank you both. Will keep an eye out

  • Where can I see full configuration? How much is the weight?

    • I believe this is the full spec sheet, seems to match with processor (but dont hold my word for it), weight appears to be from 1.93kg: chrome-extension://efaidnbmnnnibpcajpcglclefindmkaj/https://psref.lenovo.com/syspool/Sys/PDF/IdeaPad/IdeaPad_Pro_5_16ARP8/IdeaPad_Pro_5_16ARP8_Spec.pdf

  • Pretty good, ends up (with upped cashback) to be cheaper than the deal from the other day with broken cart

  • +1

Pity this is Zen 3+. Would've been great if we got a Zen 4.

Also, wth is wrong with AMD and their stupid naming schemes. It's always been that the first number references the generation, now it's the third number.

  • Cashback website saids 3.2% cashback not 13.2%, am i missing something?

    • Yep, you missed the upsized cashback

      • Damnnnnn

        • Cashrewards has 15% cashback today, so heres your chance to get this at a lower price

  • There is two wireless choices

    1) Wi-Fi 6 2x2 AX & Bluetooth® 5.1 or above vs 2) Wi-Fi 6E 2x2 AX & Bluetooth® 5.1 or above

Both free, any ideas what the difference is and which one to pick?

    • Wifi 6E supports 6GHz on top of 2.4 and 5GHz. An example of when it's better is somewhere very crowded, since it's not common so you don't have heaps of devices taking over each other.

To make use of it though, both devices (e.g. both router and laptop) need to support it and it's very uncommon at the moment, so unless you've very recently spent a chunk of money on a new higher end router then chances are you're not going to use 6GHz anytime soon, even if your laptop has WiFi 6E.

It should get more common, so you might say get better signal at an airport or coffee shop in 5y time. No point making purchase decisions around it, but you may as well get the upgrade since it's free

  • Hi. Will i still eligible for shopback if i use $2 reduce to the price. Example: If i buy a laptop its price $2000, then I applied Reward point as $2 reduce to the price, and I be charged at $1998.

I wonder because I read on the note of Shopback they said: Customer might be not eligible for Cashback if you use Reward Point as payment.

Hope to hear from you soon.
