Not sure if this is an error or a genuine $200 off. Really good phone at $497.

The newer A54 is often cheaper.

This phone is exactly 1 year older than the A54. For the sake of having an extra year of OS and security updates I would pay a litttle more and get the newest model.

The newer A54 goes for $547 on Bing Lee eBay (code PLUSAUGSNS) right now but it has often sold as little as $451 before.

  • Save up for a54, much faster processor

I have the A53. Solid phone. Battery can last 2 days with my regular use. Lots of browsing, no games. Having a slower processor helps with this.

But yes, I too would suggest going for a newer model just for added year of Android upgrades and security updates.

  • I paid $531.05 on Wednesday for the A54 from officeworks, price matched Amazon who were $559, looks like they dropped their price by $10.

  • I just got the a54 for $487 eBay afterpay (+shopback bonus). At first I wasn't sure but since delving deeper into the Samsung feature I'm pretty stoked. Routines is awesome.

Though the recent 6a deal from the Google store is pretty legit too. I don't know what would be better option.

Can't comment on a53 but surely a54 is the better buy when you consider the minimal price difference.

    • Try Bixby text call. It's not 100% accurate, but it's enough to weed out scam calls.

Definitely worth paying a little more for the A54: https://nanoreview.net/en/phone-compare/samsung-galaxy-a54-5…
Having said that, Exynos is rubbish compared to Tensor.
The Pixel 6a is insane value for $399 at the moment.

    • Is pixel 6a better value? Lost my pixel 7 pro on a plan otherday looking for new cheap phone to replace for now as broke. I can get the pixel 6a for $339 with student discount code too

      • Pixel 6a has faster processor but weaker battery. It has the best bang for buck though if not invested in Samsung ecosystem.

        • invested in Samsung ecosystem

What ecosystem? Samsung phones use Android - it is the ANDROID / Google ecosystem?

It's not like Apple which uses the exclusive Apple ecosystem.

          • @smartProverble: Samsung watches and earbuds for example has exclusive features (such as blood pressure monitoring and art-fib detection) which only work with Samsung phones.

There's also a lot of Samsung apps features that you might be too used to to move to a non Samsung ( e.g Samsung routines, Samsung notes, gallery, One UI). In general you'd probably only miss these if you've been using Samsung for a while.
