EOFY mixed pack - same price as 24/6

Langhorne Creek show pack - same price as 30/6

Lakeside cab sauv - $6 more expensive than 09/06

Best of both worlds cab sauv - same price as 29/07.

Canada export pinot - same price as 01/08.

    Chenin Blanc - $11 cheaper than 20/5.

One cheaper (clearly not selling), one more expensive and the rest the same prices as previously posted. This isn't a bargain, it's just advertising spam, reposted.

    • +8

But its 12 wines delivered for $78. Also you ca t get it cheaper anywhere else.

          • +3

@Ham Dragon: Nah, RD has a bit more nous and decorum.

I envisage dav3 from Adelaide more as the oh-so-passionate but unappreciated mail boy or IT assistant, with a teeny, tiny axe to grind…

            • +5

@UncleRico: @Uncle Rico You're right, not least beacuse I struggle to maintain one account.

Seriously, and for the avoidance of any doubt, and because I know sockpupetting is a breach of the rules, to the best of my knowledge no-one in our business (there are nine permanent team members including Bec and I) has an OzBargain account.

Nor do we have a mail-boy and IT is outsourced :-))

        • +3

You've voted for plenty of their deals as well….. and I'm sure those pink kitty ear headphones look great on you ;)

What can I say? I like wine, and their wines are generally good deals….. and no I don't work for them, I just order a box or two from time to time. This weird "if it's not the cheapest price ever" attitude that certain clowns like the two mentioned previously is just odd, especially when one of those clowns has recently posted deals where they said it wasn't the cheapest ever, and especially when they're crying to mods about non-existent rules being broken.

    • +1

      Funny story bro.
Can you please go through every deal you've ever posted to see if it's ever been cheaper?

    • wow this is a good point, unlike woolworths or coles et al, these guys are keeping their very low prices low. thanks for pointing that out The Judge. username checks out! so off the back of this im going to support Bec Hardy wines the only way i know how. with an internet post.

oh and money. im going to buy stuff. with money, so they can have money for their work.

      • +1

@yahms thanks for the kind words and look forward to you enjoying the wines. Cheers! RD :-)

  • +2

Thanks for the summary and spending your time doing that, especialy on a Saturday morning.
Two deals in the Top 5 of the last 30 days - I'd say there's still some regardng them as bargains.
FYI - Chenin Blanc around 76 cases left from a run of around 768 doz - swing away.
Let's see if the Moderators agree with your report for 'Spam'. Glady abide by their view.
    :-)

      • +7

Please do feel very welcome to report the post as 'Spam' as The Judge has and I'm happy to abide by the Moderators position. Cheers! RD :-)

        • +2

The Judge has made their decision. Guilty as charged. Please report back for sentencing

          • +2

@Ozb101: @Ozb101 hahaha. Gold. That deserves an upvote but sadly the site precludes me! :-))

      • +2

Things go on and off sale. You should know this by now, considering how many times you've posted the SD1970

Anyway, time to go crack an excellent bottle of pinot, thanks RD

          • +4

@WatchNerd: Here we go, this is like the "spirit of cricket" argument. Three reports for Spam for the post today, incuding I believe perhaps one from you and the moderators took no action. We can now invoke the spirit of "a bit spammy". :-))

I'd have struggled to mention all six deals in one title and have in the past sought guidance from the moderators on the best way to post a deal such as this.

Equally keep in mind, Ozbargain is not the only audience. The (hidden) AfterPay Day page is a consolidated page of targetted offers made into our own subscriber base over the last few months. They've been consolidated here into a single and then presented in a subscriber-wide sales event.

Posted here with free shipping for OzB subscribers (which our own subscribers don't get).

All of the to and fro though has most definitely created a more successful post than otherwise it might have been so thanks to you all - the team will have the popcorn out on Monday for a laugh!

            All the best. RD :-)

              • +3

                @WatchNerd: "I believe perhaps" - not a categorical assertion.
As for criticism, I'm a 52 year old Yorkshireman and former senior exec in an ASX listed company - skin thicker than a rhino old chap. The only way I've reacted is by having a little fun with it, afterall it really isn't all that important…..
                :-)

                  • +1

@WatchNerd: hahaha - enjoyed the exchange. Off for a glass of vino. Have a good night. Cheers for the banter. Richard :-))

                  • @WatchNerd: Guess you can add them to the list of vendors you stalk and repeat random irrelevant negative comments in their posts. Maybe when those backpedals you found go on sale you can post them here ;)

        • +2

@freefall101 Enjoy the Pinot. I've been decanting it a little time beforehand, it's still a little tight - if you've no decanted, into a jug and back into the bottle will do the trick!
          Cheers! RD :-)

    • Any red only packs?
      Or Shiraz only packs?

      • +1

        @bashar20
The Langhorne Creek Wine Show 12pk is all red.
        There’s also a Shiraz deal here -> https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/792791

There tends to be more Cabernet available as we export a fair bit of South Australian Cabernet to the US for Costco, so always have some odds and ends to run out. 👍

        Cheers! RD :-)

    • -1

@RD ADL do any of these bottles match well with spam? That's the only way I could call your post spam.

  • +12

Give them a break, these guys are awesome. It's very rare to get a dozen wines from a 5 star winery for less than $100.

  • +2

    Agreed.

  • +3

Have bought from these folks a number of times now, always top notch service and great product.

Any upcoming deals on the Rose??

    • Hi @jimboss Thanks for the kind words. Unlikely to see that this year. Yields down this year and much more of a market for that rose now it's in its fourth of fifth vintage. Last couple of vintages have sold out quicker than anticipated despite rises in production.
Best price will be Wine Club price which is $17.5/btl.
      Cheers! RD :-)

  • +9

'Spamgate' update: Three reports for Spam. All resolved. No action taken by moderators aside from a minor edit to the title. :-)

    • +2

      Congrats. Lol.

  • God bless this wine glut

I think australia's wine industry is still very expensive compared to where it should be say pre-covid prices. This is a decent deal though

    • +1

Hi @Drakesy. Yes, I saw that report during the week.
You're right, even from a producer perspective with routes to market, there's opportunity and so all are not affected by the "glut" equally. For us it's opened up a great US opportunity to beat the American's at their own game by delivering great value Cabernet at prices Napa and California can't match.

Whilst grape prices have declined, supply chain and packaging have seen some significant increases in the last twelve months and we are, afterall, a high labour cost economy comparative to global peers

Equally, whilst we grow around 40% of our own fruit from two Blewiit Springs vineyards we also source 60% from a cohort of growers most of whom we've worked for a decade or so across this and Bec's parents business. So fortunately, not crippled by huge vineyard holdings in lesser regions with excess invenotry. Sadly some are.

      RD :-)

    Great thread. Enjoyed the read.

Imagine getting triggered by good value wine.

    • +2

@Miso haha it was quite the day. You can't make some of this up, you really can't….. :-)

  • I bought both the pinot and best of both worlds cab sav last time round and both are very good and amazing value. The best of both worlds does need quite some time to open up. It is much better a day after first opening the bottle.

    • Thanks for that. I've been decanting the pinot for an hour or so before serving - it'll open up a tad more - won't have to do it in a few months but works for me for now :-)
Glad you're enjoying the wines. RD :-)

  • +1

If you don't like the deal, just don't upvote. Ozbargain has clear policies about store reps posting and Bec Hardy has followed them. Do you guys neg every singles Coles & Woolies posts because their prices is higher than 3 months ago?

Keep up the good work Richard, whilst I haven't enjoyed every wine I've ordered, your company gives me a good opportunity to try and experience new wines without breaking the bank.

    • @abetastic Thanks for taking the time to post and for supporting Bec's wines. Please do always PM me if there's a wine you've not liked, always happy to work that through.

Re the price increase on Lakeside Cabernet, there was a reason on this occasion it was set at $100/12 Pack. Whilst OzB has a free shipping code, our subscribers don't and they have to spend $200 for free shipping. By having the Lakeside Cabernet line priced with the other Cabernett at $100 the two of them can be bought for $200 and subscribers then get free shipping - spend an extra $6 on the wine, save between $9-$20 on shipping.

Enjoy the weekend. Cheers! RD :-)

  • I hope I will be as nonchalant as Uncle Richard when I grow up :-) Have another upvote from a happy customer who can recognise, and appreciate, a bargain.

    • hahaha @ifonlyiwasyounger - Bec would argue I've probably never grown up ;-))
Thanks for the upvote. Drink well this weekend. Cheers! Uncle Richard :-)

  • My partner and I had a good chuckle reading through this thread - Richard's tolerance and tongue-in-cheek banter with the haters continues to keep us entertained!

We knocked off a bottle of the Pinot Noir tonight - very happy with the quality, especially given it is hard to find cheaper Pinot for regular drinking, so we are very happy with the 12 pack we got.

Free shipped wine at this price sounds suspiciously cheap, but the wine is great! Starting to start like a shill myself, but just one happy customer!

    • @yuge Haha. Yes, like you the team will have the popcorn out on Monday morning, having a laugh as Bec and I did all weekend. Although sadly some of the posts are now being deleted by the posters!

Make sure you order up on the Pinot as that’s not likely to be around again at this price point, at least for a while if at all.

I’m sure you know the origins of the Wine Shed Sale but just in case, what it is and why it is is explained here -> https://bechardy.com.au/blogs/blog-news/what-is-the-wine-she…

Thanks for supporting Bec’s wines and for taking the time to post. Kindness and humour do mate the world a better place hey? All the best. Richard :-)

  • @RD ADL
I would like to order the Pinot Noir as I never tried it before. Usually I would like to use Paypal to do the payment, but I could not finish the payment when I clicked the "Pay with Paypal" button two days ago, I thought something wrong in my mobile phone, so today I made another try in the desktop browser, but failed again and the page won't redirect to Paypal to finish the payment. Is this the system error in paying with paypal or my configuration issue?

    • Hi @sizhier - that's odd isn't it? Paypal payments are coming through as recently as 1.38pm and we've had no other feedback that Paypal has been problematic for anyone and the website appears to be working normally with sales ticking through. I'm not the most tech savvy person so not entirely sure what to suggest other than completing the trasaction by credit card (we use shopify so all payments are encrypted and we don't have access to card details… Sorry I'm not sure what else to suggest….. Cheers! RD :-).

      • thank you @RD ADL
It is unusually as I always bought a lots online using Paypal, so I thought something wrong in your website as I had tried four different browser in two devices and different time to try. But thanks for the quick response, I will see if I can find a way to make the order :)

      • I tried again just now to use my iphone safari and it worked (not working two days ago) 😅
I am waiting for the Pinot Noir now.

        • +1

ah ha, wonderful - pleased it worked out in the end. Thaks for the order, we'll have it out to you tomorrow I hope. Cheers! RD :-)

  • Happy that I could sneak in an order this week for the EOFY Mixed 12PK before this deal expired @RD ADL :)

    • @GrandMaster pleased you snuck one in too! Getting ready for BFCM now, so hopefully you’re subscribed to the newsletter. Enjoy RD :-)
