Is it easy to cancel and is their billing cycle transparent? Looking at you iinet!

    • +5

      And Exetel

        • I had forgotten about this, and signed up with AB. Now, I have to call AB to pause the connection and then Superloop to give the notice :(.

        • Sorry what’s the issue with Superloop I’m missing, it says no cancellation fee just give 30 days notice? I’m with Superloop but will soon reach 6 months and want to switch

    • +2

I just had to cancel because I'm moving house, and it was trivially easy.

      • Was it pro rated? Because Exetel had a 30day cancellation requirement with no pro rated option.

        • They once met me half way but claimed they had to pay nbn regardless

          • might have been Superloop, can’t remember
        • Not sure as I just gave them 30 days notice anyway :)

          • @jje: I have a couple of months remaining, can i give them the notice now not to renew 30days before the 6month agreement ends?

        • Aussie BB does pro-rata refunds.

  • Works with speed20 code?

    • +1

Conditions state that 2 promo codes for the same product/service cannot be used together. If you plan on sticking with them for six months then the $20 off per month code is a better deal (assuming you are a new customer and not a relocating existing client).

    • +1

      Is SPEED20 active?

      • +2

        Offer ends 11:59pm AEST 31 October 2023

        • Any restrictions on this code? I got Promo/referral code invalid

          • @etan: SPEED20 is for new customers or if you haven't used Aussie BB in the last 6 months.

            SPEEDUPGRADE20 is for existing customers.

For a limited time, upgrade to an eligible high-speed 250/25Mpbs or 1000/50Mbps plan and we'll take $20 off your monthly bill for six months.

To take advantage of this offer, simply call our friendly sales team on 1300 880 905 and ask for the speedupgrade20 promo.

Eligible customers Existing Customers who have not have downgraded from the 1000/50 or 250/25 plan in the last 4-months.

I must say they are pretty easy to sign up with and cancel too unlike iinet.

Looks like I am headed back to ABB. Joined superloop at the beginning of this month and although speeds are fine the latency is not so great so my son is complaining about gaming. Blame the lag seems to be his excuse for being a noob

    • Also I have been with many different NBN providers and Superloop are the only ones that keep having to do emergency repairs or maintenance in peak hours even around 6pm. I would say it's a 1 off it only happened once, but it's more than 10 times at this stage, this is when I was with them on 3 different occasions. Never have this no internet problems with the other providers during peak hours

      • Ice been with them for a couple of months now and hadn't had an issue 🤷‍♂️

      • I've had many dropouts with them that only affect my service, not full outage to my area. Called them up multiple times and just switched to AussieBB instead, no issues with other ISPs, but looking for a new one to jump ship after my 12 month discount is over.

    • Superloop / Exetel, I agree :). Latency sucks to gaming servers, not to mention packet loss. The maintainance during peak hours was the last straw.

Tried a month, gave up and came back ABB.

    • I've tried SL/Exe/ABB/Telstra on HFC in GC, QLD. Never had any latency issues, best routing was on ABB & Telstra

I've now moved to FTTB, tried gaming on TPG-Wholesale (vision network) but its impossible because of Interleaving option enabled by default, adding 20-40ms with rubberbanding.

Now switching to ABB Nbn FTTB to trial, Interleaving profile disable by default with FASTPATH mode enabled

  • Does it stack with referral?

    • +1

      Nope

  • So moving home costs $$ to set up usually?

    • $0 if nbn has been previously connected. $300 for nbn new developments.

  • +1

After promos run out, just call them and say you are thinking of leaving and they'll often run another one for you.
eg 10/mth off for a year

They told me they were coming up with ideas on how to reward loyal customers.

I just signed up. Here is proof
    https://res.cloudinary.com/dgblclbfi/image/upload/v169231357…

    Honest Review
    Good:
the speed it took to connect is really fast. 15 minutes
Their staff was really professional. He confirm i was using the CAT6 cable that is capable of reaching those speed.

    Bad:
I order 1000 download speed. It did not reach 1000, only 50 (might be due to my HFC, im not sure)
If you want to cancel it, you will have to call them. Around 30 minutes of your time.

    • HFC limited imo. My 1000down HFC connection at older 1980s premise topped out at 700down during offpeak on ABB and SL, verified cvc chart wasn't being slammed

But everyone's mileage may vary based on various circumstances

    • I am on fibre 1000/50 and my daily speed tests show at least 900 down every time, usually around 920.
      HFC is a clown show.

      • I’ve hit over the 1Gbps on fast.com and high 900s on Speedtest.net and I got HFC. ISP definitely matters. Launtel just do it right.

    • Since it's almost perfectly at 50 I would have assumed maybe there's some misconfig somewhere along the line.

I have HFC in SE Melbs and my eero speed tests are consistently between 940-970Mbps with ABB. Once it gets to my laptop it's about 450 but I can't blame them for that.

  • Was about to sign up - but I wanted to use this alongside my existing Exetel connection on another port (FTTP) but there's seemingly no option during signup. It just says that there's an existing connection the address. Don't want to cancel my current $53.99 for 50/20 just yet.

    • Callem and let us know. Have read on whirlpool you can do that ez

    • +1

You'll be able to provision more than 1 service provided you are not using 1GB connections as the NBN boxes are speed limited.

      • Great info.

Do you know what quality fiber leads are ran to the NBN Box for FTTP, OM2, OM3, etc

    • +1

Aussie BB automatically put your new FTTP service on a spare port. The exception being if you already have Gigabit and try to order Gigabit with Aussie BB.

    • UPDATE: I backed out of the online sign up as it wasn’t clear, but someone from ABB called me. Confirmed it would be Port 2 for FTTP as my Port 1 is in use, all working within 20-30 mins of the call. $0 first month 1000/50. Confirmed just call to set a cancellation date prior to the month end

  • Can I use a referral AND a discount code?

    • Nope you have to pick one.

  • Would other modems work with this? I want to try avoid paying for the $179 netcom cloudless. I have an optus one from a couple of years ago

    • +1

used a my republic modem and a telstra smart modem 2 with no problem

  • I am getting promocode invalid error.
Is anyone else facing this issue?

  • Superloop is $119 minus $20 for a while , ABB is $149 minus $20 for a while. Am I missing anything? That difference is a bit more than I really wanted to be paying

    • Superloop is actually $109 ongoing for 1000/50 so the difference is quite significant

  • sad thing is no static ip unless requested and then it costs and speeds with aussie broadband have dropped, no longer who they use to be.

  • +1

Just download the entire internet in the first month.

  • +1

Now just need their Free Month on Mobile Plans deal again

  • What current churn deals are there going atm? About done with Tangerine and did Superloop last year. Any others out there to use?

    • I usually jump between ABB/SL/Exetel unless a banger deal shows up. Haven't tried Tangerine, launtel (free 7days), or Leaptel yet.

Heres the price book if you want to experiment and shop around
      https://drive.google.com/file/d/1--gBAdj3Wzvd0Btf2UxfOX-ikPh…

      • Thanks for that. Do Superloop let you jump back on to their discount deals again? Tangerine have been fine. Superloop were probably more consistant speed wise. Is there a list of providers doing 6 month deals for the lower speed plans, specifically the 50/20 plan? Or are Superloop, Tangerine, Exetel pretty much it?

        • SL is 6 months last I checked, has been working if not put in partner ls name.

For a list idk, I just shop around when its churn time but, EX,SL always discounted last 2 years

        • Look out for Aus Post if they do similar deal to this. My 6 months with them just finished and I switched back to Tangerine as am a Bupa customer so have a code to redeem.

Would've jumped on this free month as a bridge between Aus Post and Tangerine if I knew two days ago but already activated Tangerine yesterday 😐

  • Does it work on Opticomm services?

    • I'm not with Opticomm, but enter you address on the page, add plan to cart and enter code to verify.

      • It worked!

  • +1

Can i sign up for a month free and then quit? I am moving house in 3 weeks and my current service only runs to this Friday - haven't been able to find info on their website.

    • sure, why not.

    • +1

      Yes.

  • Can anyone advise on the cancellation policy of these guys?

I'm curious to sign up for only the promo month, but I don't want to be stung by any additional fees or time frames of the cancellation notice period.

Many thanks for considering my request.

  • Getting "Promo is not valid" at the checkout …

    • Yep didn't work for me either :(

      • Livechat rep said it expired Aug 31.

      • +1

Just try it every few months :) I've set it to expired

      • I've just gone in and typed the promo code and it worked - https://ibb.co/sjgnF05

        • +1

Yep. But when you actually put your CC details in and confirm the order, it fails. In my experience anyway.

        • +1

Yeah, but it fails at the final screen

        • +1

I went one further and submitted the order and it says promo is not valid

          • @1jwoz: Update they rang me an hour after I tried to order online and I got the first month of 1000/50 for free

        • +1

Ah okay. Thanks, I've just tried and it's not working

  • It worked for me after I called them and signed up over the phone, it didn't work for the rep as well, but she got a permission to apply a credit for the first month from her line supervisor.

  • Still worked today via phone call moving properties:

    Your add-ons
Promotional code applied to your account: First Month Free (MOVING)

    • I reckon if anyone calls at any time of the year they'll prob throw in a month free to get them to join ;)

  • I just ended up going with Exetel, did it thru Shopback/Cashrewards so will hopefully just get a month free doing it that way, I think there is a $60odd cashback etc. And Exetel has better prices than Aussie I think.

    • Exetel have PPPoE which kinda sucks for some configurations.

Have a link for the cashback you used? I usually churn every promo to stay 'cheap'

  • I just tried the "moving" promo code and encountered an error stating that the promo was not valid. Has anyone else come across this? I've tested on different browsers and P.C.s and still get the same result.

    • +1

Scroll up a little and read comments. ;)

      • I called them, and they could authorise it over the phone. The rep mentioned they were regulating the use of the promo code.

        • Great stuff, well done. Sounds like others had the same experience.

        • How annoying

  • deal still working, ordered today.
