    Cheap as chips!

  • this works with AMD right? Going to get the 7700x and a MSI mobo

    • Yeah got it for my 7600, one of the better options too

(profanity) I just bought this exact kit for 190 from msy

    • mate i brought this for $469… albeit it was 10 months ago. RIP.
Actually mine was Z5 Neo, not sure what the neo is but i doubt it warrants $300 extra :D

Is there much performance difference between this and their 6000 CL30?

    • Price difference is bigger than the performance diff

    • +1

I'd take a guess that the CL30 version would be Hynix chips though which would allow for much better tweaking if you're up for that.

    • I bought the team vulcan 6000 CL38 @ 1.25v, it can do 6000 CL30 @ 1.35v

I use a 4k oled and honest cannot tell the difference between them.

      • Interesting, what's your CPU? Mainly amd CPUs benefit from timings as far as I know.

        • 7600x

          • @netsev: Nice, I ordered the 7600, also on an oled 4k, there might be a small fps difference, say like 5% but it would be hard to tell without an fps counter🤔 anyways since you're at 4k things are way more bottlenecked so it makes sense for it to not make much of a difference.

    • If it helps, I've ordered this yesterday 6000MHz CL30 for $184..

      • I considered the vengeance but they look a bit taller and I am building in a Dan A4 H20 and I need as much clearance as possible maybe

    • There is. At least that's how I justified paying the exorbitantly extra money :')

  • This is almost on parity with DDR4

    • What ?

      • +1

He's talking about the price. I did pay around this much for a DDR4 32gb about 1.5 years ago.

        • Oh I see is there a big difference between this and the cl30/32 specs

  • Perfect timing, was just looking for ram

    • Pun… unintended! ;)

  • Cheers OP! Looking to build an AM5 PC. This will be the first piece.

Any recommendations for a motherboard to go with this RAM and the 7800x3D?

  • +1

Perfect to pair with the 7800X3D deal

Previous deals suggest this is best paired with Ibtel systems, not AMD. Something to do with XMP

    • +1

What ram do you recommend for amd

      • Going by comments of previous deals, it should be Kingston Fury i guess check if it has expo support

        Xmp means tuned for intel

      • +2

G.Skill Trident Z5 Neo is the AMD EXPO equivalent of the one in this deal. G.Skill Flare X5 is another EXPO option.

        • I was looking at the z5 neo earlier but also found this KF564C32RSAK2-32, which do you recommend.

          • @Believ3r: I'd get the neo personally. The fury renegade is ugly as hell lol. I run a window side panel though so looks matter for me. If they don't to you than that kit is good but likely not worth the extra money over the neo's for price to performance..

            • @Tythefly86: Ye I also like the look of the neo might go with that thanks, when it comes to timings is there a big difference between cl32 or cl36

          • +1

@Believ3r: Imo, 6400mhz isn't worth the premium for such minor gains. 6000mhz is the best value at the moment.

In regards to timings, it's up to you how much you want to spend. For EXPO the G.Skill Flare 6000mhz CL32 is decent value https://www.umart.com.au/product/g-skill-32gb-2x16gb-f5-6000…

If you want RGB though, there's Corsair Vengeance RGB or like Tythefly said, the Z5 Neo RGB. Prices will vary depending on timings.

            • @Phade: So not much difference between 32 and 30 when it comes to timings ?

              • @Believ3r: Yeah hardly any difference in performance, especially if you have an X3D model CPU
