JW Computers has stepped up to match the Scorptec deal for the AMD 7800X3D CPU, pricing it at $639. When you factor in delivery, JW Computers still comes out on top. They're quoting a $4.95 standard delivery fee, whereas Scorptec charges between $12-13 for metro postcodes. So, JW's landed cost ends up being cheaper.
At the moment, the majority of stores (Umart, MSY, Computer Alliance, Mwave, Amazon) haven't adjusted to this new $639 price.

It’s a gaming chip. It’s actually pretty ordinary for productivity tasks.
Could you elaborate here what "productivity tasks" are, and what chips are strong in that area? Does this means this chip faster with certain types of instructions? This seems to do well on CPU comparisons.

this may be foolish of me but with several stores stocking it at this price it now seems it would be smart to wait for afterpay day. surely they don't all go out of stock before then.. right?!

im really surprised by how little movement there's been with the mid tier ryzen chips, especially since intel has been so competitive in that sector. i guess everyone just wants to hop on the am5 train!
