I've had my eye on this one for a while, very well reviewed and can cut decent length grass without a struggle.
Unlike the cheapies, this is normal mower size, has a steel frame and a dual charger for the 2 batteries.
Not much else to say - hope someone finds this useful!
If it wasn't too long ago you could always return it and say you're unhappy with the performance, then upgrade to this.
Do bunnings do change of mind returns? I bought the 18V one, wish I returned it now :(
Granted, it was cheap and I have a small lawn, so it's only mildly annoying.
How long was not too long? I also bought a smaller one and wish I could upgrade it to a bigger mower.
Same with the line trimmer.

The plastic key is the issue. It costs $15 to replace when it breaks (which is guaranteed) and 2-3 weeks to place a Bunnings special order. Don't bother trying to circumvent the process as ozito won't bend or break unlike their keys.

Are you removing the key? I just remove the batteries when I'm done and figured that was safe. I thought the key was some silly legal requirement.
The key that came with mine is pretty sturdy, it has metal pins unlike the one in the YouTube video which had a flimsy plastic one
I bought the 370mm 36V Ozito Lawnmower in May this year (https://www.bunnings.com.au/ozito-pxc-36v-2-x-18v-370mm-cord…) and it's been great - no complaints however just a bit too narrow/small for my liking as I've got a corner block.
Saw this post pop up and thought I'd try my luck to get a store credit (I kept my receipt) and to pay the difference for this Steel Deck Lawn Mower which is slightly wider at 460mm cutting width. Gave my 370mm lawnmower a good wipe down, brought in the charger, 2x batteries and lawnmower itself without any packaging but with receipt. There was a lady from Bunnings who seemed a bit too interested and asked me why I wanted to return it (she wasn't the one behind the Refunds/Exchange desk). Get to the front of the line of the Refunds/Exchange desk and the two staff are all so understanding and said they're happy for me to pay the difference to swap up to the 460mm steel deck lawnmower. Said Bunnings lady who seemed overly interested in why I was returning it was quickly making a few phone calls to what seemed like her close friend.
Once store credit was all issued, I asked them what they would do with this lawnmower - they said they'll just sell it cheaply to the Bunnings staff at the store. It all made sense! Said lady was very keen to buy my lawnmower for cheap as soon as I had returned it!!! I told them my observations and they all cracked it, they said there's a few bargain hunters within the store who always pop by throughout the day to see what's been returned haha…
I couldn't speak more highly of Bunnings and their customer service, I've been going regularly for the past 6 months since I moved into a house from a small apartment and I've made my fair share of incorrect purchases (over-ordered, wrong item but unopened, wrong item but opened and no packaging, with or without receipt) and I've never had any issues.

wtf - i bought the self-propelled version of this for that price…
This is waaay lighter than the self propelled. Parents have that one, and i prefer this. Both are great though.
The newer self propelled one is only 23kg compared to 19.75kg for this one.
The new one looks much improved. Any feedback on it?
@scphotos: I don't have the old one so I can't compare but the previous self-propelled one was closer to 29kg I believe.

I've got the self propelled… It's heavy and cuts way too high, the wheels spin, and it can cut out in thicker parts.
I contemplated returning it for one of these, but for all it's faults, I do like mowing one handed
I hated the high cut as well - I bought a blade adapter off gumtree and it makes a big difference. I don't have a massive yard so I can go over it at a few heights if the grass has gotten too long.
The blade adapter can be 3d printed or purchased - here's a thread about it from a previous deal.

6 to 1 now, I bought it, I've been waiting for this price drop for more than 6 months.
I have it and I'd say it's pretty good but could definitely be better - e.g. it's not particularly powerful (esp compared to old petrol powered mower) so it chokes on longer/heavy grass - basically I have to set the height a little higher; the catcher is pretty ordinary and the channel from the mower deck to the catcher is smaller/more restrictive so it can sometimes clog up a little
It is however much cheaper (like half the price or less) than other battery powered mowers that are more powerful and likely solve some of the issues I mention above
I don't have this and am not sure if it's great.
Might you be getting mixed up with the self-propelled one? I have that one, and it is a bit painful to use.
Just to clarify I am talking about the older self-propelled one that weighs 30kg. Not the newer self-propelled one that is lighter.

Yes, me too. Just don't let your grass grows too long and thick, otherwise you won't be able to mow it in one go, at the lowest setting.
I bought one a few weeks ago (for $499 hmm). Way better than my old Worx one I got from Masters. Definitely worth it at $399.
I have one, put my petrol honda and briggs mower out for hard waste collection, only have small yard and nature strip, love the 36V ozito.

I had one for 4 years (the older 4x battery steel deck). It does a decent job. As long as you're not being a bit silly and keep the blades somewhat sharp you shouldn't stall it. I needed just more than 1x set of 4ah batteries to do our standard block. It's fairly heavy so the misso may not want to use it. Mine died after the 4yrs and because it wasn't in stock at the time I got a refund on it. Swapped to a 46cm EGO. Hands down the EGO is better, much more powerful and harder to stall, but to get it with the bigger 7.5ah battery was more than double the price of this. Horses for courses I say.
I have fairly smallish yard for which I bought a manual Victa push mower off gumtree for $50. I find it it be pretty much useless. Doesn't cut much even at the lowest setting plus I got a fair bit of weeds growing to which it doesn't do anything. Is this worth the upgrade? Have never had to mow prior to buying my current house which is my first
@Bargainolic: While I haven't used a manual mower like yours I can say with a fair degree of confidence that yes it will be much better. I was doing about 200m2 of grass with it. Would maybe just do it with a set of 4ah batteries if it wasn't too long. It definitely does the job, just dont let the grass grow out of control. Mow at least once ~3wks in winter and probably every week or at least 2nd week in summer (this is based on Melbourne climate).
@Bargainolic: Is this worth the upgrade from a useless manual push mower? Anything would be.
The added bonus is you can now keep an eye on all of the Ozito gear and buy into it when on sale.
@Hinee: Agree. Just a bit of concern that maybe the min cutting height has something to do with it. New to the world of mowing so please excuse my ignorance
@Bargainolic: Those are hard at the best of times, they don't handle sticks well, or bumpy ground, or long grass. I only use mine in summer when it's peak growing season and the ground is flat and grass is mowed every few days etc.

Anyone providing an assessment of a lawnmower’s performance should qualify by how big their lawn is, what variety of grass it is, and how high it is. What works well on a well maintained 12sqm couch townhouse lawn may be a completely different proposition on 1200sqm of kikuyu.
Ideally of course how it compares on the same lawn with the same petrol mower would be best. Maybe with a Honda 19 inch 4 stroke buffalo mower (which should be the petrol benchmark I would think…) or maybe a makita or Bosch 36V? But not many buyers of this would have previously had those I suppose.
That's why CHOICE seems to be the only reliable source of objective information on lawn mowers. Unfortunately they are slow to test newer models. Read any collection of user reviews and you will be dazed and confused by diametrically opposed views.

I'm a cord mowing guru! It's very convenient to just plug in and mow but the mowing is a little more painful but not difficult
I can't find this particular product on Pricehipster - is this actually a good saving? It has been down to this price several times, though not for a while now based on post history. I want an electric mower really badly, but also don't like buying crap.

Got the ALDI equivalent instead, which is self propelled as well for a nice bonus, but if it dies I can't swap instore.
Is this worth if you already have Makita stuff? this is so much cheaper than the Makita equivalent…
You can always use a couple of 3D printed adapters for your Makita batteries - Ozito batteries only expose GND and +20v to the device, so basically any DC power source or battery can be made compatible.
$50 on eBay is exorbitant for $1 of plastic and metal pins, but you're still going to be ahead in terms of value compared to a Makita mower.

Makita are annoying me lately, I'm not sure why they are not releasing a brushless plastic deck version (18 or 36v I don't care).
I have the old 18v version of this Ozito one and it's pretty good except it doesn't go low enough.

Things that could be better
This Ozito electric replaced a fleet of 3 Victa two stroke mowers that were always in some state of disrepair and always a pain to start.
Going electric means no more
If someone's saying it's not great, they probably should explain a little more about what isn't great.

Even so, the fabric catcher is not bad for dry grass.
You can mow without the catcher entirely if you don't mind some fine shaven clippings left behind, it's even more incredibly light and easy to mow without the catcher.
This already cuts pretty low, regardless grass shouldn't be cut too short with rotary mowers.
The only thing to maintain are the blades to keep them sharp and effective.

You can cut buffalo with this? I have the plastic deck version with hard plastic catcher. Not sure if motor is weaker, but in summer, mowing buffalo weekly it struggles and stalls every half meter or so. Actually pretty frustrating to use. So need to mow at higher setting then do a 2nd pass at desired height.
Yes, easily cuts buffalo grass.
This model has a 36V brushless motor which produces a lot of torque (twisting force), it has an automatic 2nd speed step up when it senses extra load to deliver more cutting power.
There's a vast difference betwen the old style brush electric motors and a new brushless type. The brushless type is electronically governed to produce optimal and continuous torque and is ideally suited for applications that require a lot of 'pulling force' like automotive motors, aircraft motors, lawn mowers….. Unless it's very light duty, avoid electric mowers that don't have a brushless motor.
With this model Ozito most of my buffalo lawn will get cut on the low speed (longer battery life), and when it does step up it powers through the heavy stuff.
It's not unstoppable though, if it hits 4" - 6" of wet buffalo then it can be stalled, but if I've let the grass get this high I've left it too long. The solution in that case is to mow in two passes, first on high, the second on the desired cut level.

most mowers will struggle cutting more then a third of the blade length anyway. Unless you have an old victa 2 stroke pinned
I need to cut twice a week in summer at max height, since I swapped to doing this its a lot easier too and less frustrating. If you have good, healthy soil your grass will grow well and look good, nature of the beast

I have the self propelled version, it is not great, but it does the job, i have a 120m2 flat grass area. If you have hilly big clock of land, don't get this.

I'm sure there is a plastic key but I have never taken mine out. Had my self propelled model since January and I was surprised how good it was. You never expect a low cost battery mower to be great but I found this mower is better than you expect. I didn't think I would like the self propelled model but it certainly sold it with the wife. I'm sure this current model (non self propelled) will be fine. I have tried other mowers but this was the first brushless motor. Have about 100m2 of lawn and it does it normally on one set of fully charged batteries. It wont if its wet but i have quite a few of them so no issue. Get it from Bunnings and after a month or two if you dont find it does the job you were expecting just return it. The non brushless mowers are not very good and would only suggest them if your lawn area is very small.
Damn. was waiting for this one. Couldn't wait any longer after my dinosaur powered mower rusted out so bought the smaller/plastic one a while ago. At least it is also 36Volts.
