I bought this at the last deal. Highly recommend for this price. Love vacuuming now.

    • Agree. I am looking for a stand . Any recommendations pls

    • +2

Me too. Nowhere near as good the Dyson (v8), but then nowhere near the price of the Dyson. (Hoping son learns to love vacuuming…)

      • +1

Is the Dyson V8 at twice the price twice as good as this Viomi A9? Genuine question.

        • Dyson should have interchangeable battery. Most brands have this option now except Dyson. I have moved from Dyson to Bosh, no regrets. And the bosh is super quiet.

          • +5

@Bluering48: Do Dyson still make you hold in a trigger for the entire duration of the vacuum? That was always a fantastic design decision, if I wore my pants on my head.

    • +1

Agreed! Initially, I was unsure whether to buy after reading some mixed reviews. But it has been almost 6 months and it has been great (for the price). The only slight niggle is that the little rollers catch hair easily and it can be difficult to cut it out. Buying another one! Thanks, OP.

      • +1

That last bit happens in the Dyson's all the time too.

      • +1

Happens all the time with Dyson models as well. I guess it’s meant to catch hair which it does too well.

You have to remove the roller brush when it’s really bad.

  • A really decent vacuum. Absolutely does the job without the price tag. Highly recommend.

  • How does this compare to those Kogan ones? The office has one of the Kogan ones and it struggles to pick anything up without spitting it back out the moment you lift it off the ground

    • +1

These are undoubtedly better than the very meh kogan ones

  • Not a bad vacuum only.complaint is that hair gets stuck easily in the rubber rollers and makes it not so smooth to roll. Requires snapping out the tiny rollers to clean the hair.

    • Is this easy to do? Just worried I'll break it! What do you use to pop it out?

      • +1

        Flathead screwdriver

  • -2

Love this one. My subconscious knows it probably won't live past 4 months but does the job during its short lifespan, like a rabbit

    • +5

Mines been going strong for 1.5 years now. I vacuum daily

    • I have been using it 14 months now. Been using it 3-4 times a week too. No issues at all till now.

  • got 2 of these bought at higher price. this thing is value for money.

  • -1

This reminded me to cancel my ebay plus membership after getting the $309.60 dyson V8 deal. Thanks!

  • +4

I've had numerous mi/mijia vacs over the years. I find the vacuum itself are very good, but the batteries aren't. After one year they start becoming imbalanced with some cells dying, duration goes from 10+mins on high to about 2mins to flat

    • This is the reviews we need. <3

    • I still have the original Dreame V9 battery still good….

      • Same here. I've had to replace the motor but the battery still holds a decent charge.

        • Same here, almost 1.5 years on the Dreame v9. Battery is definitely not as good as it was when it was new, but its still more than ok. The vacuum in this post does seem to go on sale regularly, so no need to panic yet. Might grab one next time it comes up.

          • @HappyPants: I had mine for almost 4 years before it reached a point where battery life was inadequate. Did a great job over that period which exceeded expectations

  • +1

Last night I was trying to shop for something similar to my Xiaomi G10 for a friend who moves out at the end of the week, and couldn't see any good deals. Perfect timing. Thanks OP.

  • "60 minutes of continuous work"

Does everyone get an hour of actual work from this?

    • +2

Closer to 6 minutes at full power.

    • Yes. 1 hour on low, 30 minutes on medium and 10 minutes on high. Medium is easily better than my ageing Dyson and does the job.

I do a quick once over every week and the places my robot vacuums miss and can't get to, i.e. stairs and under furniture.

  • Need them to make a spot cleaner. Kmart one had decent reviews but zero stock anywhere

  • thanks got 1, been looking a new 1, since my old one (3+ years) the battery is dying

  • can anyone comment on how good these are with pet hair?

  • would anyone please tell me whether you have to press the trigger all the time when using it or does it come with trigger lock?

    • +1

https://youtu.be/8XT_Qz2JXvo think this is it, not certain.

      • ah thanks mate!
        it looks cool…advertisement :D

    • +1

No you dont, you just push the one button and it stays on.

  • Would this be a huge upgrade on my DC59 (yes it's still going). Replaced the battery once but at over $100 now seems like a waste to replace the battery again.

  • how's the battery, is it easy to replace and does it wear down easily? i never own a cordless vaccuum as im skeptical of batteries and stuff but would this suit a general pupose cleaning? Thanks a million for any input :)

    • +1
      • +1

Battery is more than half of the price of the device. These things are becoming more like printers.

    • Battery is super easy to replace. I have a replacement one which I swap out for a big vacuum.

      • Which battery you replaced the original one with? Is it a generic brand or a branded one? Also how much it costs? Please update.

    • I bought one of these in the last deal, battery died in the three months I have had it, only used it a handful of times (I have two robot vaccums, so the V9 only gets brought out for corners that start to get a bit scruffy, or the car or couch occasionally).

Currently going through attempted warranty replacement battery with mobileciti. They replied to the first email within a few hours, ball is back in my court. Hopefully goes smoothly.

      • well, getting the classic dodgy seller 'send the whole thing back and we'll investigate, but if we find nothing wrong we'll ship it back to you again and charge you shipping and inspection fees'. This is after I have shown them videos of the charger not charging, and jumped through all their hoops. Also trying to tell me they'll be assessing if it is covered by manufacturer's warranty, and not mentioning Australian consumer guarantees.

I've brought the ACL into it myself now, hopefully they'll adhere to their obligations.

  • How does this compare to a Dyson V7? They go for about the same second hand.

  • Perfect timing. Was almost going to pull the trigger on Amazon for $180-ish.

Wasn't keen on paying $299 for an equivalent big name brand version.

  • +1

Got the v7nfor 299$ and got this as well. Will see which is better and return one maybe

    • +1

Let us know how they compare when you get them, thanks

  • Got this last time. Very average to be honest, poor battery life, suction, capacity. I guess you get what your pay for. Nothing special.

    • +1

I have this model, battery life and suction power (with 3 different settings) is quite good in my experience. For this price, I think it is a really good deal.

  • +1

I’ve had one for about 2 years now, using it mostly on medium pretty much everyday. I could get about 30 mins in medium when it was new but now it’s around 15-20 mins. High lasts only 2-3 mins these days. It’s been great while it lasted but I’m looking at possibly upgrading to something else.

    • New battery perhaps another option?

  • Is this any good on carpet? Couldn't find a carpet roller/head thats made for this but the connector does look very similar to the VAX style vacuums

Edit: OzB way; have bought it and will find out.

Thanks OP, 4 year old VAX finally died and replacement battery is over $100

    • +1

      yes works great on carpet

      • Thanks, good to hear!

  • +1

My dyson V7 still works great but this review was enough to convince me to pull the trigger. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_sdTYkSDSxU&t=336

  • +1

It has free returns so I did the OzBargain approach and bought first to avoid FOMO. Now that I've bought it, I have to work out if it's decent enough to keep. It seems like most people say it's pretty good, but some people think it's crap? Other than battery life, are there any major watch-outs?

I have a robot vacuum (a Eufy 11S that has been going strong for a surprisingly long time now) that runs every day / most days, so I just need something for spot cleaning and getting into nooks and crannies that are too narrow for my little robot friend. I live in a small apartment so don't need a lot of runtime for this, and I do have an old-style vacuum (body on wheels + hose) but it's big and a pain to get out of the storage cage so the size of this one appeals. Ideally (but not must have) this vacuum would be stronger than the Eufy 11S so it can pick up dirt that is missed on the daily cleans - e.g. dirt/dust in my jute rug.

Anyone who already has one - do you think it'll do what I need based on the above, or should I prepare to send it back once it arrives?

    • We have a decent size house with multiple kids and cats and highly rate it.

    • This is ideal for spot cleaning. The roller head is pretty good in picking up dirt from any type of floor. The turbo mode is very powerful.

  • +1

Thanks, grabbed one. I have the white one I bought 3-4 years ago, still going strong except the battery lasts only 15-20mins so time to change.

  • +1

Can we get Ryobi battery converters like for Dyson?

  • +1

Went out of stock and now the price is $160….

    • From the rep

We allocated 200 units for this deal. The deal allocation quantity sold out, so now it’s resumed back to the usual selling price

    • $151.19 if you stack DASO20 with PLUSVIOMI

  • +1

    Got 1 thank you

  • Ordered one of these last night - https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B0BVDNRNRX?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_p…

Hopefully it will be ok, otherwise would have purchased this!

  • Was actually cheaper to buy this than the battery replacement lol

  • +4

Good deal. Mobileciti thinking they can just auto subscribe me to their spam newsletter because I bought something off the can (profanity) off, though.

    • +2

Yeah totally agree, and there's no unsub button on the email that confirms the subscription? Dumb.

    • One more thing to the list to prove they are crooked.

  • Damn, missed it

  • Over the past 3 years I have bought like 4 battery operated vacuums including 2 robot vacuums and 2 cordless vacuums including an expensive Viomi S9 UV, Tineco S9, Xiaomi and Dreame. The degradation of these lithium batteries is pretty bad and they struggle to hold decent charge after a year or two of standard usage.

Replacement of battery is not a viable option in most cases as the cost is often too high. I love cordless vacuums but can't afford to keep throwing these things away after only 2 years and the upfront cost isn't cheap either. On the other hand my miele vacuum has been used and abused, is probably more than 15 years old but still has strong suction and works like it did when brand new.

    • Yes convenience comes at a price. granted corded vacuum lasts much longer but lugging around the house and keeps plugging/unplugging in different rooms can be a bit of a pain.

    • +4

I think viomi must just use garbage charging circuits. I have an old roborock robot vacuum going fine on its original batteries 5 years on (not great, but fine). I have a viomi s9 UV who's battery went to crap about 12 months in. I bought a replacement and pulled the old battery apart, separating the 8x 18650s it was made of. I checked their charge levels, and half were nearly full and half were only 1/4 charged. So I think the cells all get unbalanced and it stops charging fully, stopping when any one of the cells is full, and then thinking it's nearly run out soon after running.

the viomi A9 i bought 3 months ago has already stopped charging at all. If I get a replacement I'll pull the old one apart and see what's going on inside it.

  • 'Such Dark Corners' - coming to u soon as a new trauma-based horror title from A24!

  • Anyone received the item from this deal? Why are they taking so long to post it ?

    • +1

      Tracking was provided last night.
Arrived just now. Im in Melbourne.

  • +1

Got mine today… works well but … i dont like that you have to plug the charger manually each time. Why not implement it into the wall holder? Really stupid.

Also, overall quality feels quite thin and plasticky … my Xiaomi Dreame V9 is much more sturdy and feels better built. Lets see how this goes.

  • Received mine…
Quality is ok… But power and suction is just awful.

The max power losses suction after 30-40 seconds. You can hear it and feel the motor slowing.

    Returning it.

    • Good luck getting them to accept it. I've been struggling for 2 weeks to not get fobbed off to panmi by mobileciti. Clear fault on my a9, battery just doesn't charge at all after only a few months. Looks like quite a few people have also had trouble with returns - https://au.trustpilot.com/review/mobileciti.com.au

      • +1

Managed to return by requesting return from eBay.
They refunded %50 saying the unit was dirty and had no fault.
Opened a case with eBay and requested full refund and 5 minutes later, full refund was processed.
How do they expect ppl to find out if the vacuum is faulty or not. You have to use it as it intended and obviously you don't vacuum just air, you vacuum dirt hence the unit gets dirty.
They are arrogant mob. Will never buy anything from them even if it's free.

        • As much as I hate eBay as a seller, for these kind of things it is great for the buyer. I've had my vacuum for a few months and I'm reasonably happy with it. Yes, the max power mode does last very short time indeed, but even on the middle power it's got pretty good suction and lasts long enough for me.
