Paid $580 before for this beginning of the year….

I swear Dell must have a huge supply of these monitors. They just keep getting cheaper and cheeper.

I bought two for around $410 around 8 months ago and thought I was getting a good deal. I didn't think they'd follow the same pricing trajectory as SSDs…

They are outstanding displays too. $310 is a serious bargain.

  • USB-C upstream only mean no power delivery right?

    • Yes .. its display only… also it has hdmi and display port… i use display port to keep my 10bit colour at high refresh rates

      • I know I'm late with this reply, but that's actually incorrect. It lists 15w power delivery which isn't much, but actually seems to charge my MacBook Air when it's not under load.

  • nice! bought 1

  • +2

This also has the PIP display feature where you can say, connect your work and home laptops to this, taking half a screen each. Just discovered this and it’s pretty good for wfh.

Bought one for Father’s Day as well, thanks OP.

  • -3

Great price, but would rather two 27 inches, then 2 32inch ones of this,

Why? Well my vesa stand cannot accommodate 2 32inches only 3 24's or two 27's,

I do like 3 monitor setups probably overkill but has nice aesthetics

  • +1

I have been using it for over a year. No noticeable issues so far.

  • +1

Anyone got their order confirmation with first name and last name reversed?

    • +1

      Mines the correct way around.

My order form has a business name, that I’m not sure I filled in, that has surname-comma-firstname, but my name is firstname-space-surname

  • Thanks OP. Picked one for WFH to hook to laptop and split the screen 👍

  • +1

use 27 4k and 32 2k for WFH? any good? what is the best WFH monitor combination. Thanks.

My dauther got my old Dell 32 Curved 4K UHD Monitor - S3221QS (https://www.dell.com/en-au/shop/dell-32-curved-4k-uhd-monito…) as her gaming monitor with 6800 GPU. She is playing 4k 60fps on her games, not sure if she want this and gaming at 1440p with more fps. Don't know what to do with the monitor if i am buying this as well. Any opinion?

    • +2

2k at up to 165hz is a much better gaming experience than 4k at up to 60hz

  • +1

Excuse the ignorance, but would this be suitable for graphic design and a bit of video editing? (no gaming). Or are there better alternatives?

    • +2

a 165hz monitor for that seems a bit overkill, prob better looking for maybe a 4k panel with better colour accuracy, maybe im wrong tho

      • This 32" dell panel has one of the best colour accuracy on the market its also 10bit ( its made by LG )

        • damnnnnn thats crazy good. Any downsides to this monitor for pc gaming?

          • @abjsdhasehasee: ITS not OLED .. but that could also be a good thing because it wont get burn in ever..

Also IPS glow… so its 90% perfect but not 100% like OLED

    • 100% yes.. its good for graphic design its a 10bit LG Panel .. RRP on this was $900

  • +1

    Many thanks OP ordered one!👍

  • +1

Thanks OP. I already have a 32 curved and 34 ultra wide curved, all Dell, and very happy with both, this is definitely a bargain. Grabbed one for my arcade cabinet. Will be a nice upgrade from 1080 to 1440p.

  • Thanks, purchased. How much can i sell my old Dell 32 Curved 4K UHD Monitor - S3221QS https://www.dell.com/en-au/shop/dell-32-curved-4k-uhd-monito… which is 2 years old and warranty until May 2024?

  • I placed two orders on two separate accounts. Both paid with PayPal. One received an order confirmation and has shipped, the second one has no order confirmation. Spoke to the dell team, they can’t do anything about it. What a mess.

  • -1

To me it shows $327.80 instead of $310

    • +2

Did you add the promo code?

      • +1

        I missed that part, thanks!

  • FYI the USB-C power delivery is only 15W

    Sold out?

I'm getting the following message when adding the item to my cart and clicking Proceed:

"Sorry, Dell 32 Gaming Monitor - G3223D is out of stock or no longer offered. We removed it from your cart."

Edit: Confirmed via online chat with Dell sales support. Apparently this model is now discontinued so Dell must be clearing out all remaining stock of it.

    • ITS SOLD OUT - Dell sold out of this monitor haha

      • +1

You know of any other monitors that are close in terms of specs for a similar price?

        • +2

          YES

The (LG 32GP750-B) uses the same panel
The two places below sell it for the same price. $430

          https://www.centrecom.com.au/lg-ultragear-32-qhd-165hz-1ms-g…

          https://www.scorptec.com.au/product/monitors/27-33-inch/1029…

          • @vid_ghost: Appreciate the recommendation. Looks like MSY also have it for the same price.

I noticed the LG 32GP750-B also has the option of a 180Hz refresh rate overclock, so it's actually got a slight edge over the Dell G3223D.

I think that'll have to do unless the Dell online store manages to find some more stock soon.

            • +1

@Miami Mall Alien: You could wait until tomorrow and check Dell online again… my guess is they HAVE LOTS of stock and are making more but not at that price point so we may see it back in stock at RRP within the next week

              • +1

                @vid_ghost:

my guess is they HAVE LOTS of stock and are making more

Well the Dell sales support rep I chatted to said the G3223D is definitely discontinued/out of production but I'd also agree this won't be the last promotion we see on this model given how popular it's been in the past and the fact that it's still available on the Dell US store.

so we may see it back in stock at RRP within the next week

Yeah but the LG would be the cheaper option in that case.

                • +1

@Miami Mall Alien: I think thats why this Dell was reduced… why buy the Dell for $430 when you can by the LG for $430 … LG IPS gaming monitors also has more reviews on you tube praising them.

My next monitor will be a 32" OLED PC gaming monitor when the price drops to around $450

I'll be using my two Dells G3223D screens until that happens or replace them with LG if they die in the next year or two

                  • @vid_ghost: Well you were right, they're back in stock now. I just grabbed 2.

Maybe a bunch of cancelled/failed payment transactions from before or more stock being made available after Dell saw how fast these were selling before?

  • +1

if anyone changes their mind on this and no longer wants it let me know please :)

  • +2

    OOS

    • +1

can also confirm ive tried my hardest to speak to a few people and get one although to no avail

      • They list it as out of stock on the link

  • in stock

    • +1

Yep, confirmed as I just ordered 2.

I've notified the mods to remove the "out of stock" tag to give this deal more visibility again as there'll no doubt be plenty of others that are keen to jump on it.

      • It has been shown that there is no stock, I am so sad, because I just wanted to buy a large monitor today, but the result is out of stock again, may I ask when you know the stock will be replenished?

        • All I know is that this monitor was showing as out of stock on Dell's website on Wednesday, so I contacted Dell sales support to see if it would be back in stock anytime soon and they told me this model is discontinued/out-of-production. Yet somehow on Thursday morning it was back in stock and still on sale for $327.80 (without the affiliate discount code). That's when I asked the mods to remove the "out of stock" tag on the deal. It seems that stock levels lasted for at least a few hours on Thursday morning before running out again.

Now if you attempt to go the deal link though, the listing/page for the G3223D doesn't exist on Dell's online AU store as you just get redirected to a generic landing page that shows the following error message: "You have been redirected. The page you tried cannot be found; it may be an incorrect or outdated link."

Whether that means this model is now permanently discontinued/unavailable for Australian customers or whether it'll be back, I don't know.

One thing that's odd is the fact that this model is still showing as for sale on Dell's US store.

There have been a lot of deals on this particular monitor recently (5 deals since December 2022), so whether that means Dell was trying to clear out the final remaining stock of this model before retiring it or whether Dell is going to continue manufacturing it due to popular demand, remains to be seen.

          • @Miami Mall Alien: Thank you very much. Is there any 32-inch 144hz monitor that you recommend recently?

          • @Miami Mall Alien: I contacted Dell support the other day about another monitor (G3223Q) which didn't show up on the website and gave me that same error message, they said it was permanently discontinued. A day or two later it was up for sale on the website again, so definitely possible this one could come back.

  • Which one would be a beter monitor, between this and the MSI Optix G271CQR 27" WQHD 165Hz Curved Gaming Monitor?

    • I don't see how that MSI is comparable, especially for the average price of $300 dollars that it seems be retailing for currently.

It's a VA panel, which is definitely not the best choice for gaming, it lacks Nvidia G-Sync compatibility or USB-C connectivity and the overall colour reproduction/brightness specs seem worse.

    • All from googled (could be wrong)
Is VA or IPS better for gaming?
IPS is the clear choice if speed, color volume, and accuracy are a priority for your gaming needs. It's also better for competitive gamers who want the highest refresh rate.
However, VA panels achieve much higher contrast than IPS panels. Their main advantage is that they produce deeper blacks and more detail in shadows, so there is less loss of information than with IPS panels. The contrast levels of a VA panel, can be up to 300% higher than that of an IPS panel.

      Dell 32 inch (or 31.5), IPS panel, G-Sync/Freesync, USB-C
MSI 27 inch, VA panel, only Freesync
Your preferance size, IPS/VA panel, price should be considered first. Then features like G-Sync, USB-C ect. MSI have Sharper image due to higher PPI (as both 1440P, but MSI smaller), Dell will have around 93 PPI which is similar to 24 inch 1080p PPI. Advantages for VA/IPS already explained above.

  • Anyone knows if we can do pic in pic (Dell Display Manager) and KVM in mac? I can't find the software for mac (only shows for windows). TIA

  • +2

Received mine today and somewhat underwhelmed with settings out of the box - will definitely need some adjustments to get the colours where I want them. Also, the stand doesn’t allow it to go as high as I’d like but was planning on an arm anyway.
On the plus side, absolutely no ghosting or dead pixels!

    • +2

You can also turn off that rear blue LED light :) if the option isnt there you can update the firmware from Dell while the monitor is connected via the usb and the option to turn off the blue light will pop up in the monitor menue.. that's what i did

  • +3

**Just a note for anyone attempting to update the firmware as I did last night/today and having trouble with the monitor connected via usb-c to a laptop -
Ensure the windows display settings for "extend these displays" is set to have your laptop as the primary display. If you have the new monitor set as primary, when the update is in progress and it restarts, it'll drop the connection and fail the update. If you have the primary as the laptop, it will go through.

Was on the phone to Dell support when I figured this out and have given them the information to help others if the call with the same problem.

    • Yes… its best to update using a PC not laptop

  • +1

What setting are you guys using?

    • for gaming

  • Any one got tax invoice from [email protected] ?

  • +1

Just got an email from them today saying the ETA for mine change from yesterday (16 Aug) to 4 Jan 2024!

    • +1

That's odd. I placed my order very late, the day after the deal originally expired when some more stock was made available for a brief period during the morning of 10/08/23 and I've just received mine today.

You must have gotten your order in after all of the Australian stock was depleted and now they're having to wait until more units are manufactured to fulfil all remaining orders and/or there's been a mistake on Dell's end and your order is actually going to arrive well before January 2024. I would be contacting them to confirm what the issue is.

      • Yeah I put mine through on the 10th as well, around midday though, so you're probably bang on.

I put through a support ticket to confirm, fingers crossed it's just an error haha

  • The front panel of mine seems to be a bit detached. Anyone else with a similar experience?

    • +1

The front panel meaning the thin bit of the plastic bezel at the bottom of the screen?

I checked on mine and they do seem to be a little bit loosely-attached (there's a small gap visible) but it's no worse than many other modern monitors I've seen.

  • Anyone who ordered this on 8th and haven't got the order processed? mine still shows as received

    • +1

same here ordered on 8th and still nothing but received

    • +1

Ordered on 8th arrived on 11th

  • +1

Got the monitor for few days, I updated the firmware (recommended) and monitor is working fine. Do I need to download and install “Dell display manager application” (Critical) and “Dell G3223D monitor driver” (optional)? I am using Windows 11 if that is matters.

  • I suspect the monitor is over sold. Bought on 8th and still nothing. I called Dell, it says it is on hold as there are no stock. Transferred me around a little, then said the online team will give me a call back…

I have to say pretty useless Customer serivce.

    • +1

I think you'll be waiting until more stock is manufactured as per zekamashi's comment above.

I do agree they were most likely oversold due to the overwhelming demand and because the exact same post-sales delays/cancellations have been reported on other very popular computing deals recently.

At least Dell seem to honour their orders regardless of how long they take to fulfil unlike Lenovo and other OEMs/vendors who just cancel without warning or explanation.

      • +2

literally got off the phone with DELL, the 3rd call. The member told me this will be the end of life of this line of product and there is no stock. I am trying to workout an alternative deal with them on a 4k monitor. I will keep Ozbargainers updated.

        • The member told me this will be the end of life of this line of product and there is no stock.

Yeah Dell sales support told me the same thing on 09/08/23 when the deal first went out of stock and then it was back in-stock on 10/08/23 when I placed my order (which arrived last week).

So their stock allocation/inventory management system isn't the best as you've clearly ordered well before me but somehow you weren't allocated any stock meanwhile my order was placed within the last few hours of this deal being available (before this model was removed entirely from their AU store) and somehow I managed to receive stock ahead of you and several other users who placed their orders earlier.

This model is still showing as available on the Dell US online store and the Dell Singapore online store for example, which means that despite being supposedly discontinued there's stock still floating around globally but Dell don't seem to be allocating any more to Australian customers.

I would just hound Dell support on that point until they caved and reallocated some global stock to your order (maybe mention that other buyers who ordered later still received their orders and that it should be a case of first-come, first-serve).
