Thanks OP got 1, this goes great on Mango or Pineapple.

    • And watermelon!

    • +1

I'm guessing you're meaning unripe mango yeah? Like green mango?

Mum's Malaysian and taught me to eat pineapple and green mango and even apples on the sour side with this sort of thing, or atleast I think it's this sort of thing.

People who dig this stuff, are any of ya'll fans of Rojak?

      • +2

this would probably go well in a spicy rojak

        • +2

I think this thing is sort of thing she used. But maybe more fine? I remember it being almost like a salt consistency. Another thing it went well with was chinese-style crispy skin pigeon. Then she'd use the same thing for like pineapple at the end of the meal.

Haven't seen her use it for the last like 15 years and never really thought about it until it was posted. She passed away just before Covid so this gave me a little nostalgia. I'll be keeping my eye out on this and similar products to give a try one day. Might have to google a bit more tonight.

I put them on ice cream

This is strange. It looks like standard Tajin - not sure why it's labelled 'fruit' seasoning. Goes very well on chicken, eggs, seafood.

suggest marinating some cubed chicken thighs in this, olive oil, minced garlic, lime juice and rice vinegar, skewering and cooking on the bbq.

    • +1

      It’s made from fruit.

      • +1

oh so we're going to start calling hot sauce 'fruit sauce'?

        • +5

Next thing you know, they'll be calling almond milk, nut juice.

          • +2

@seamonkey: Almonds are not nuts they are seeds. Calling it seed juice would be harder to swallow.

        • Umm… You put tomato sauce on tomatoes? You put mint sauce on mint?

        • Looked at a bottle of Bull-Dog tonkatsu sauce lately?

    • not sure why it's labelled 'fruit' seasoning

You mean apart from it being a Mexican ingredient and Mexicans serve it on fruit, ditto chamoy?

Open a beer, squeeze lime over the top of the can, sprinkle some tajin.

  • +1

Wow, just bought some today at a jerky n nut store. Have been rimming it around my beers with a lime, can recommend 100%

  • +5

This is perfect for any rim job. I always freeze my glasses for 10 mins before making a cocktail then rub the rim of the glass with lime and rub the rub this spice all over the sticky rim before pouring my COCKtail in

  • it is mexican not chinese

  • It's very high in sodium!

  • Back in stock again

    • just checked its out of stock..

  • As soon as I posted that it appears to be oos again :/

  • I'm sure it's delicious, but the third picture on the website makes it look very average.

  • +1

This stuff tastes amazing on corn. Look up corn ribs. You cut the corn in long quarters, put a bit of oil on them and sprinkle this stuff on. Throw it in the air fryer for 10-15mins and enjoy.
