Norton 360 Deluxe 5-Devices: 24 Months ₺319.99 (~A$18), 12 Months ₺249.99 (~A$14), New Users @ Norton Turkey (VPN Req'd)

44

Hey everyone,

I recently received a notification from Norton about my expiring multi-device subscription. To save some money, I decided to take advantage of a workaround using a Turkey VPN and an Olbibil Account with a Virtual Card. It worked perfectly for me, and I want to share the steps with you all.

Pre-Requisites:

Turkey VPN
Olbibil Account with Virtual Card (For details on obtaining one, check this link: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/784047) - Thanks to @ismellpennies
Step-by-Step Guide:

Connect to a Turkey VPN.
Go to https://tr.norton.com/products and create a new account. Use Incognito Mode for added privacy.
Choose your preferred subscription option. In my case, I chose the Deluxe plan for 2 years.
Enter your Olbibil Account Virtual Card details. I used the address and state as Istanbul, and it worked smoothly.
Subscribe to Norton using the provided details.
After completing the process, please note that you'll need to uninstall Norton and then reinstall it to activate your subscription successfully.
Cancel the auto renewal

If any of you have tried different payment methods and succeeded, please share it with the community, and I'll update the post accordingly.

I may not be the best at explaining things, but this method worked for me, and I hope it helps you save some money too.

Best of luck to everyone!

Microsoft defender one the best on the AV market, plus it didn't have it source code leaked $0.

Maybe they just wanted to be open source

      • Wow they support FOSS, what a lovely bunch!

    • How about Malwarebytes?

      • +1

Norton and Microsoft Defender provide much better protection. Malwarebytes is great as second opinion scanner, but not as an antivirus.

        • +1

          Agreed

I will say as a second opinion scanner Malwarebytes is BETTER at detecting and removing PUPs than either of the others mentioned. It will often find PUPs that defender or Norton pass as acceptable.

I don't personally think any PUPs are acceptable.

I usually install Malwarebytes, let it deal with things others have missed, then uninstall it again.

Norton getting hated on again, I do remember trying to remove Norton early 2006 and it was worse than a virus. Recently gave norton a second chance and it has been very light on resources which is confirmed by AV-Comparatives and AV Test. Thanks for the work around OP. Will go back to Norton once my bitdefender ends in 2027

Agreed, when they rewrote it from the ground up in about 2009 it's been a solid AV and always been at the top of the ratings and having the lowest impact on system resources.

Look at the Cashback offers with Norton. The Cashbacks are up to 90%. I just got my refund back.

Fair comments. I think the sheep have been regurgitating old Norton propaganda every time a deal comes up - it's tiring and childish.

      HOWEVER

I will concede I stopped using Norton myself about a year ago, but only because of the nagging. Apps should just shut up and do their job if I tell them to!

AND it's a fair pain in the arse when Norton blocks my company's paid for remote software on client's machines every time without making it very easy to allow or exclude. If the customers need remote help it's very easy by downloading our agent off our web site but once Norton is in the mix it becomes a hard slog getting it running for the client.
