    wow,ACDsee

  • Bizarre to call the product gemstone photo editor - I had to look up the info to determine that it wasn't for actually editing photos of gemstones.

For anyone wondering, it is a photo editor with integrated AI garbage.

    • I think v14 might have AI integration but this is v12, which debuted 2021, so could be garbage free?

  • bloatware

  • ACDSee started emailing me recently, after like 20 years perhaps ? This was fun. I have unsubscribed promptly.

  • Are there any decent free alternatives to ACDSee? Nothing fancy, just light image editing and file management…

    Ahhhh … ACDSee!

I still use ACDSee Classic v2.43 on my system. Never upgraded, because they just kept bloating it. This is one of the few bits of software that I actually paid for!

Also used Picaview for years and years, until I upgraded to Win10 and it just wouldn't work. Thankfully, found a good alternative.

I've tried many viewers over the years, but none do as good a job as ACDSee. There's plenty of calls on their forums to bring back Classic with support for all the modern formats, but they seem hesitant.

  • I used to use ACDsee for reading manga zips during my scanlation days in the early 2000s. I would probably still use it today if it were able to read all modern formats. What a nostalgia blast.
