        If you're trying to use a streaming service it might not work if it recognises the traffic is coming from a VPN server. You could try using a different protocol or port if this VPN provider has that feature.

        @s0805: Yeah it should but if it detects it's a VPN it might block it. What are you trying to view and what is happening?
        
        Most VPN's let you connect using different protocols e.g. WireGuard, OpenVPN etc. try different ones. If it gives you a "Stealth" option that might work. Or if it lets you connect with OpenVPN via TCP. Or if you can select port 443. Those may appear to be standard web traffic to the site you're visiting.

        I can access that site and watch the videos while connected to Windscribe VPN's Indian server. When connected to HMA does the site give you the location error or a different error?
        
        While connected to HMA's Indian server does https://dnsleaktest.com recognise you have an Indian IP address and location? You can use it to validate a VPN or smartDNS service.

        I tried loading that page for something to do. With the vpn on it loads the html but none of the resources, they arent even trying to load them according to the network tab in devtools. Without the vpn the page loads but complains your not in india. It tried all three protocols they have. When checking the ip in the dns service you suggested it intially says your in india, but if you do the advanced test eventualy youll get a fail saying your in singapore. This https://www.iplocation.net/ip-lookup site sums it up quickly, halfy half india or singapore. Refreshing to rotate the ip didnt help and was always on the same server.
        Only thing you can really do is contact HMA and tell them all that and hope for the best. Woiuldnt hold your breath tho, cheap services like this dont usually have the best customer service because to do so cost HEAPS.

        Windscribes free tier doesn't include the India server unfortunately. If you only need it for this they have a plan where you can buy one location for $1 per month. If you do buy it FYI I was connecting with the WireGuard protocol (select it at top left in the client). It will likely work with any protocol but WireGuard is the fastest.

I just purchased the 36 month plan with revolut using the steps above however after i've activated my account with the email from HMA, when I log into the MacOS app it says 'no subscription found'. Also says that when I log into my account on the web. Anyone else encountered this issue and resolved it? Thank you

  You need to wait for the activation code which might take from 15 minutes to more than a week. Use it to activate the subscription. Also check if the transaction has reverted.

Working fine with Citi debt. $14.83 and subscription confirmed through to August 2026. Activation email came through within a minute.

I find Citi debt to be great with all of these Türkiye deals, never had a issue. I use it almost exclusively for things of this nature and only keep a small amount in the account at any one time.

      In the HMA install dir there is a folder with openvpn.exe. Made something in Deno to record the arguments that where passed to it, I think it might contain all you need to use the proxy in your router. Updating my previous comment (now deleted). Paid with Commbank Ultimate Awards.. appeared to work, got the welcome email, set up password. Could see the transaction in my pending transactions list. After not receiving a code for 2 hours I checked my pending transactions list again and it has disappeared… so they've cancelled it even though payment was successful. Not trying again.
