It has been a disaster for sim hopping ozbargainers since this new financial year.
Kogan 1c sim is gone
Boost free/profit sim is gone
and I've just found out today Amaysim no longer gives out cashback from CR & SB.

So we've to start hunting for cheap sims again.
Looks like the cheapest sim currently is Lebara (Vodafone network) for $6/30days.
This deal is not in Coles' catalog this week. But it runs frequently between Coles/WW.

You may use Coles digital gift card to purchase sim cards @ Coles, but you can't use WW's gift card to purchase sim cards @ WW.
Update: As per Neoika's comment, there is a $4 pack, depending on your local store, which gives you 8GB and limited intl calls.

2nd cheapest would be Catch (optus network) $21/90 days, that's equivalent to $7/30 days

It also runs frequently. but it doesn't come with free intl minutes, I don't like that.
You may get 3.5% cashback from CR, or I think you may use catch gift card (exchange from Prezzee) to pay for it, although I haven't tried that.

3rd option would be Belong (Telstra network) $45 100GB Starter Pack, that's $24 for 3 months, equivalent to $8/month

    Customer support have responded to my email and have unlocked the SIM but now I have to pay $14.90 to purchase the 8 GB plan? It was already paid for how have they managed to mess this up twice. Won’t be using Lebara again

        mine doesn't work as well…
        It says sim number not found…
        you may try to enter your sim number on the activate page first, without actually activating it.

        If you email now they will fix the sim without activating. You can then activate when you're ready.

        Fortunately no issues with SIM activation, and porting from Kogan Mobile to Lebara went pretty smoothly, even outside of the Mon-Sat 8am-8pm porting hours.

        There was approximately 8 hours of downtime where it appears that neither SIM had service while stuff happened at the Vodafone back-end.

      I emailed about this too and they said login via web instead of app. 4gb bonus is mentioned there for me.

    Just an update of my activation:

    Sim card not found error.
    No one replied online chat.
    Sent a photo of the sim card number at the back of sim card + Coles receipt to [email protected]
    no one reply for 36 hours.
    Called 1300 126 122
    Told CS I've already sent an email
    CS found my email, sim card is ready to be activate and credit applied within 5 mins.

    At least I get my credit…

      Lebara SIM deserves to be ignored. I was actually only with it once long time ago.

        This is my first time and probably the last. lol
        I usually switch between Booast and Amaysim (with cashback) monthly until this July.
        There is no other $4/m sim on the market at the moment. :(

    Similar, maybe worse experience to Taneda and others…
    In short, not recommended!!

    • unable to get past 1st page on activation
    • sim card not found error message
    • no online support
    • followed instructions from others, emailed support with photos front and back + coles receipt (thanks Ozb!)
    • called support, escalated activation

    • wait for email confirmation to proceed

    • couldn't get past 2nd page on activation

    • porting number
    • number already in use error message

    • rang support and had to do manual activation over the phone.

    • only received 4gb
      *used them years ago, were ok, but never again!

    Hope others fare better than me.
    Will use Boost and someone else next time for sim hopping.
