Details below. This makes me curious for two reasons.
First, each set shows 4 balls. They offer a deal of two sets - $34 for two sets. $19 for one set. Would someone shove 8 balls in there? Or does a dude buy two sets, one for his GF and one for his DW?
Second, why no PO Box. This pisses me off to no end.

  • No blue balls?

  • DW?

Inc ban because ozbargain mods are prude? :/
I have zero aversion to Adult posts, so I have no idea where this 'banned items rule' came from. My only aversion is your use of the word "shove".

The copy on this groupon is hilarious:
"Exercise is a mood booster, much like chocolate, laughter and looking fantastic when running into an ex"

  • DW = Dreaded Wife? Oh wait, no… Darling Wife? Dear Wife? Dead Wife?

  • -1

Sex toys are banned on here.

    • +1

What does that have to do with this deal?
Kegal exercises are mainly used for treating urinary incontinence or pelvic prolapse ….

      • Yea and vibrators are designed to give back massages.

        • Well…. Some are, but the majority are designed as sex toys…..
These are not….. A potential effect of Kegal exercises might be an improved sexual experience, but that is way down the track, not whilst using them. The primary reason for using these is to improve pelvic floor muscles, often weakened through pregnancy and childbirth.
The efficacy of these types of device, however, is debatable

    • Hi PainToad

Thanks, there's been a change to the site.

A new NSFW flag was created. This item is allowed as the NSFW flag is ticked on.
More information about the NSFW and how it works with your settings is here
      http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/71304

      • I'm puzzled as to why this would be considered NSFW……

        • Probably because of the way it was described by the company as something to enhance one's sex life.

        • Where in the description does it say that?

        • Love balls. Enough said.

        • Have we suddenly turned into giggling schoolboys?
          What does 'enough said' mean?
Where in the description does it describe anything about enhancing one's sex life?

        • Well andy19363,

Let me say more than enough.

The picture shows a rather captivating woman in lingerie, with the caption "Exercise Love Balls". Call me old fashioned, but this does not conjure thoughts of weakened pelvic floor muscles with me. It conjures thoughts of strong pelvic floor muscles, quickly followed by a cold shower.

No, it doesn't actually say "enhance one's sex life", perhaps because the law & order of our fine federation precludes it (ie: may constitute misleading or deceptive conduct).

        • but this does not conjure thoughts of weakened pelvic floor muscles with me.

That's as maybe…. I guess we all interpret things differently…. but how does it make this post not safe for work?
There are many pics of captivating women (and indeed men), here on ozbargain….

          all seem ok to post

Is it because it's about 'ladies rudie bits'?

No, it doesn't actually say "enhance one's sex life",

So where has this idea sprung from?

        • Well andy696969,

To be blunt, if the product works as it claims in strengthening pelvic floor muscles, then most people as sexually aware beings would generally then go further in their thinking and consider the possibility that it may also improve ones sexual function.

The implication, for most people, is there. I'm not entirely sure if you're pulling my chain or not…

As far as NSFW, the other links you provided are all about under-wear, while this post is about internal-wear. It's in another dimension, and the mods are dealing with a continuum where a judgment on balance needs to be made. Different people will make different judgments. They run the site, they make the call, and i'm relaxed and comfortable about their call.

        • I'm not entirely sure if you're pulling my chain or not…

no….. I enjoy discourse and debate…. I don't imagine this discussion will change the course of civilisation, nor do I have any great interest or need for the product.
I just found it interesting that it was posted as NSFW and presumed to be something it was not.
I assume the poster posted this to enable a couple of amusing comments…. based on, (presumably), ignorance about the product. Perhaps ignorance/confusion also encouraged by the retailer's use of the word 'love' in the title. The use of the NSFW tag by the poster also increased the perception that these were something they are not, evidenced by paintoad's mistaken assertion that this is a 'sex toy'. I do not believe this would have been posted if the offer was for "an aid to improve urinary continence"….

In terms of NSFW, there is nothing here that should be considered NSFW….
The woman in the pic is clothed (I'm not too sure what other type of pic they might have used…. a man perhaps?)
There is nothing offensive in the written information, certainly nothing sexual. This is as offensive as an ad for tampons or bras….. and we have surely outgrown blocking our ears to those particular topics

This deal, of course, should never have been posted in the main bargain section…. There is no comparative pricing, no reasons given as to why this may have been a good deal, etc. This would have been better placed in the 'off topic" forum.

Lastly, I note no-one has made comment on the benefits of Kegel exercise for men… ;-)

        • I'll put in my 2 cents. I was the moderator who marked it as NSFW and I could be wrong (I'm still questioning if this is NSFW). I'm happy to admit that NSFW is entirely subjective and is one of those grey areas. Marking a deal as NSFW doesn't remove it and those who want to see it will see it. With that in mind, if it's a grey area, we're going to err to the side of caution and mark as NSFW.

My first instinct was to unpublish the deal. Why?

          • Adult toys are banned. After reading the description and website, it is pushing Kegel exercises. I am familiar with Kegel exercises (not sure why) and are useful for a number of reasons mentioned. Thus I considered in this context for it to be a medicinal/theraputic device.

Additionally, Groupon is a mainstream site. If it were Adultshop or similar, then it would fall under a banned site.

          So why NSFW?

          • The way Groupon describes it errs on the side of adult toy rather than it's intended therapeutic use.

          • The poster's first sentence:

First, each set shows 4 balls. They offer a deal of two sets - $34 for two sets. $19 for one set. Would someone shove 8 balls in there? Or does a dude buy two sets, one for his GF and one for his DW?

A deal that leads with shoving balls into "there". While not said eloquently, that is basically what this item is.

          • Experience with these kind of deals, especially when posted right before bed means I can wake up with loads of reports in the morning. Loads of off-topic comments, inappropriate comments etc. Looking at the comments here currently, there hasn't been a comment that's actually about the deal. Is it a good price? Reviews? Quality?

So Andy is correct, this probably belongs as an off-topic forum post but technically it meets deal posting standards. The moderators are not in place to judge whether something is a deal or not, that's up to the community. I'm not an Kegel ball expert so I have no idea how much these go for or if this is a good deal. Over 1000 have been sold, so I'm guessing at least the Groupon audience think this is a good deal.

I wish I could give a better answer that wasn't so subjective but just letting you know the thought process.

P.S. The picture of the woman wasn't the reason for NSFW as Andy pointed out there are similar pictures on this site.

  • Well this is a weird way to start my morning.

  • Cute chick describing usage (115k views):

    …no demo tho.

Wouldn't want to lose your marbles…

This thread survives, but appears to have been shunted off the deals page, which is fair enough.

    • Oh i see - the deal's been marked as 'NSFW' (see above).
Makes much more sense than simply excluding it altogether.

Personally, the deal doesn't bother me, but that's not the point - the point is that for some users it can be an issue.
