$799 is way too much for watching peanuthub imo.

    • Agree. My 3 years old samsung phone note 10+ has 12gb ram

Thry can just put 16gb and increase price by $50, they make more profit from each and more people will buy

          • +2

@CyberMurning: It's a good thing you're not in business if you think that works.

            • @plmko: Why not, the cost for extra 8gb memory chip could be less than $10 US. However, 16gb for this laptop will look much decent right? Would you consider an update for additional let say $30 dollars? It's no brainer

so where do you buy that pencil thing and which one !!!

Last time I bought a flex it came with a stylus, which I sold on ebay for like 70 bucks iirc

EU and rest of world should crack down on soldered ram to cut down on e-waste, as they are doing with non-replaceable battery.

  • Hijacking post, any recommendations for a good 16" lappy with a budget around $1200-1800? Just had by Dell Inspiron 16 2-in-1 returned (touchpad design is flawed) so looking for a replacement. Touchscreen is not required, good battery and performance specs, not used for gaming so no need for beefy graphics card

Been keeping an eye out on OzB over the past few weeks but nothing has jumped out

Sounds like my post a few weeks back would have met your needs

Im in the market for a 14" hence all my laptop posts recently but if i see another decent 16" ill be sure to post for ya.

      • Thanks mate, will keep looking

    • Avoid dell.

All dells I've come across in last few years flex pretty badly (especially when held up by one corner).

My personal dell has a vertical line of dead keyboard keys likely as a result of the flex. Unfortunately it developed it just out of warranty. Keyboard is impossible to replace without a lot of effort as it is held down by melted plastic.

Not sure about other brands but Lenovo's build quality in the later generations has been top notch.

      • That's a ripper, I hadn't got my refund then unfortunately.

Will have to look out for time machine deals also

    $797 at OW

  • these are made of cheese, friend had one, kept in a padded case inside a backpack, was dropped & the zip on the case cracked open the laptop, 6 months later giving constant electric shocks when plugged into the power, amazon took back under warranty. Can't believe how thin the shell was on the laptop

  • -3

Touch screen is useless unless you draw something, aside from that it was a very average laptop with a dull screen.

    • Someone should tell Apple this, they could save money and make their iPads without touchscreens

  • That screen is not decent - it's 45% NTSC, so poor washed out colours.
