Another portable monitor on sale and this one is a big one at 18.5". While it's certainly less portable than others like this 13.3" monitor it's still more portable than clunky desktop monitors with large stands. Given this one has a 120Hz refresh rate it's good for portable gaming with a Switch or Steam Deck.

Featuring an 18.5" IPS display with 1920x1080 resolution, up to 120Hz refresh rate with Freesync support, 350cd/m² brightness, 100% sRGb / 72% NTSC colour gamut, HDR, 1000:1 contrast ratio, 178° wide viewing angle, VESA mounting, dual speakers and an inbuilt fold out stand.

There's two USB-C ports for display/power and power input, PD passthrough charging, Mini HDMI and a headphone jack. A Mini HDMI to HDMI cable, two USB-C to USB-C cables and charger are included.

  • Its a bit niche but its a good one! If you have a 17 inch gaming laptop it would be a great match for it, leas so a 16 inch macbook

    • I thought about getting one of these, but weirdly it's the only not to list freesync.

  • Aww thanks I know I'm perfect 🙂

    • Isn't that what my wife says?

      • +2

She said that to me the other day.
She also said "If I had a dollar for every time my *$#&@$ husband put a portable monitor deal on OzBargain I'd have enough money to… buy myself a portable monitor!"

        • +2

That's why I only give her 10.5" and not 18.5" over there.

        • i also choose this guys wife

  • Any cheaper portable monitors available? like under $200 mark

    • +1

There sure is. Are you after 14", 15.6" or 17ish? Are you after high refresh rate?

      • 15 or 16 i think mate

        • +11

Here are two options within your budget. I'm not allowed to share either as OzBargain deals due to store feedback being <95%. I've ordered a dozen times from the store and never experienced any issues.

They're pretty similar at 16", IPS panels and 60hz. The Uperfect has a larger resolution, 500nits brightness and full sized HDMI port. While the Zeuslap has a smaller 1920x1200 resolution, 400nits brightness and mini HDMI port.

Either way both are very good for the price.

          • @Clear: Thanks legend! Got the 16'' 2560x1600 one.

          • @Clear: JULYOT6 not working?
Would you perhaps be aware of cheaper 15.6 inch ones? Looking for vanilla (e.g.1080, 60Hz, no touch ,reasonable brightness (300cd?) - just need to work for few yrs) ones as I'll only be using it for work indoors.
Thanks for opening my eyes to things I didn't know I needed :)

            • +1

@assarabbiya: Yep AliExpress posting rules have been relaxed so I'll be having more deals soon. I'll let you know.

      • 60hz, good picture quality, touch screen would be nice.

        This one is great

        https://au.pcmag.com/monitors/87863/espresso-display-15-inch

        • under $200 mark

  • +10

This size in 4k oled would be so mint

  • +2

Bought one 17 inch one from the last deal on impluse and dont think I'll use it = Ozbargain!

Silly to buy first and think later =D

    • Why not?

      • +1

Thought I'd use it when travelling but it looks like a hassle to carry around with the stuff to bring around so I'm just going to sell it.

  • Good for Switch

    • You would need to hook up the dock to be able to use it though, wouldn’t you?

Defeats the purpose of the portability if you need to drag the dock around. You may as well connect it to a tv then.

      • +1

Im trying to post a url with a usbc to hdmi with pd cable but wont let me due to affiliate shit.

        Anyway, just search on ali
"Portable Dock USB Type C to HDMI Conversion Cable for TV Docking Mode Nintendo Switch Steam Deck"

        • Thanks - a few good options available. Good for travel :)

        • Wasn't there a whole issue with dodgy type c hubs bricking switches? Like it didn't use proper voltage management

          • @krisspy: If you use them in combination with the official switch charger it would be okay, wouldn't it?

Lots of these appear to have been sold, with okay review average:
            https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005005628635788.html?channe…

I selected this one as you don't need to take a separate HDMI cable with you to run from a hub - it's straight from Switch to TV - done.

EDIT: I purchased on last night to try - naturally hasn't arrived yet to test! Will take a couple of weeks at least to get here I expect.

      • I bought a portable monitor from Amazon (1080p, 60hz, 15.6") which works with the switch directly. No dock needed
No idea how it works but it does.
You do need to power the monitor separately though. But then the switch will charge while you play

Does the stand allow you to angle the display to 15-20 degrees and what are the viewing angle like?

I have a 49" ultrawide so was look for something to sit underneath it for additional multitasking.

  • +1

I'm after a small 2nd monitor for desktop. I don't have much desk space left. It'd be more for watching a vid while working on the main, referencing a document, or something like that.
How do these compare with a "real" monitor re colors, etc? I dono't really need it to be portable.

This is "only" FHD, so I could be happy with sth smaller in size.

  • Weird coincidence!

I recently encountered an "espresso" 15 inch, touch, portable IPS display which is powered and data through USB C

It was also particularly well designed, clean, stylish.

Only 1080p though and my god, expensive.

    Anyone rate this one?

how’s the input lag on these?

  • I have a monitor (dell U3223QE) that supports daisy chain connection to other monitors.

could I connect this to dell monitor in a daisy chain for a second monitor?

U3223QE is the Dell's first 31.5" 4K monitor which allows daisy chaining of an additional 4K monitor at full resolution via USB-C—enabled by Display Stream Compression (DSC)

  • not as good as the justperfect UU model

  • i'd buy it if it is glossy finish

    • same! cant stand matt finish

      • +2

You'll be able to, as it's got a inbuilt fold out stand.

  • +1
    • Is this better than Op deal

      • smaller, more compact and 24 Frames more.
I actually have it and use it with my Steam Deck, once you connect the Deck to it and connect the monitor to a USB C power source, you'll charge the steam deck and get full brightness from the monitor

  • +2

Noticed the mini HDMI ports already starting to fail on my urperfect monitor. So if U plan to use the mini HDMI a lot between many devices, be wary

    • My tip is use a HDMI switch dongle like the baseus ones on Ali express.

  • Anyone ever use these to do something like run Kayo outside next to the BBQ? I have electricity nearby, was thinking a Google Chromecast plugged in would do the trick. I don't have an outdoor TV.

    • +1

They work fine. You also don't necessarily need to buy a Chromecast depending on your phone. Samsung phones will switch to Dex mode on the external display so you can use your phone while watching kayo or Netflix on the display. I think Asus phones can do this too? My Oppo Find X3 Pro switches to screen mirroring (some image quality issues due to scaling the longer phone ratio to the 16:9 display), which doesn't work as nicely whereas dex mode will go with the resolution of the external display

  • 18 inch ,is not portable .how to carry around ?

  • What is the weight of this monitor? Looking for something more portable and light weight because of frequent international travel and WFH options.

    • +2

1.58kg. I've linked 16" options here but for travel I'd really recommend 15.6" or 14". I can find deals on those later.

  • many 17.3" touchscreens to choose from but im looking for 18.5" is there any at decent prices?

  • i'm lowkey considering one to play my PS5 on.
Or is there something else that could be more suitable?

    • For a PS5 you wouldn't need a portable monitor since the PS5 itself isn't portable. You're better off with something like the below monitor from centrecom, similar price, has speakers, 27inch 165hz 1080p, local shop and warranty.

      • thanks but want something small due to space constraints - i want everything on my study desk which already has a 38" uw monitor on it which I want to concurrently have my PC on.

  • Response time is 16ms?
