  • I have a 3060 ti Aorus Elite + i5 11400+ B560M AORUS ELITE combo with the ram in use being Gigabyte AORUS RGB 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4 3733MHz.

    https://www.mwave.com.au/product/gigabyte-aorus-rgb-16gb-2x8…

Would replacing my 2x8gb with this 2x16gb give me much of a performance boost in gaming?

I literally only play CoD MW2 / Warzone & Battlefield (occasional Battlebit but I know this will not have an impact on that Fun but PoS looking game) @1440P

    TIA.

Probably not. If it did, it wouldn't be noticeable.

    • Some games does chew up considerably RAM space. So 32gb is a nice upgrade.

DDR4-3200 CL18 is subpar so you are really counting on dual rank to make up for that gap. If your current DDR4-3733 is good quality ones, don't be surprised to get a performance downgrade.

      • I second this. I think it's more likely you'll get a regression or lose 1-2 fps due to speed, unless you can get a guaranteed dual rank 32gb kit. And if you think capacity is the issue just close random stuff in the background before loading the game

    • My understanding, this depend what games you are playing and the apps running in background. 16gb RAM currently is enough for most games with few apps running in background. But there are few games will need more than 16gb RAM, especially add up the few apps running in backgroup.
32gb RAM definately a good choice for mid-range gaming PC, but not a must for budget gaming PC. As more RAM then you need will not increase your gaming performance, but less RAM then you need will deeply decrease your gaming performance.
As netsurfer said, RAM speed will impact your gaming performance too. I will skip this deal if i have your PC, except there are apps or games that you sure need more than 16gb RAM. But still 3200 cl18 in this deal is pretty slow.
https://youtu.be/yTPDR2tHH5g (all games ok with 16GB)
https://youtu.be/d99XekWSm-I (Some games not good with 16GB)

  • The same thing that happened to ddr3 will happen to ddr4, there is so much of it out there 2nd hand that it is worthless buying it new now.

3200@ 18-22-22-42 is awful, if you want RGB get the Teamgroup T-Force Delta RGB 3200@CL16 for the same price.
The Corsair Vengeance RGB sticks with cl16 are 115$

Not really a deal unless you absolutely need RGB. Slow timings. There are faster kits for less
