    • Where did u buy?

    • shenanigans?

    • Where to buy? I want one.

    • brand new $350? or second hand from eBay?

    • Friend got a new contract and i bought it off her brand new.. Sorry if that got yous excited

      • +2

It's ozbargain… what did you expect? That people wouldn't get excited? ;)

  • +3

was thinking the same re. the price , wayyy overpriced , would prefer an s3 anyday at almost $300 cheaper.

    • Early adopter premium. Was the same when the S3 first came out

  • +2

It's debatable.. If it was Apple, nobody would say anything. Am I right?
Android phones get released too often…

Although, it's pretty cool that it has 2gb ram. hopefully it'll become the new standard now.

    • I don't think 2GB ram worths a couple hundreds dollars more than current phones. And it's shipped from Hong Kong.

      • It's not. Hopefully the price nosedives soon. Very soon.
I just think it's good that the amount of ram is finally increasing

        • Hopefully the price nosedives soon. Very soon.

yep, 5 minutes after official iPhone5 announcement. Anyone ordering now gots balls for brains.

      • You're paying for that 5.5 inch screen basically.

It's Samsung that's releasing too many phones, they have 152 in their range on their US website.
Cut that shit down by 80% at least.

      • +2

        *90%
I think you made a typo

      • Then you are happy to pay $800+ for a phone?

      • +1

You can't compare the products on the US site. Every carrier in the US demands their own special handset in order to be compatible with their networks. Most of the handsets in the US are variants of the same model. Compare the number of products on the UK/AU/Asia sites to get a more realistic number.

That was because Apple's product retain its value. Have a look at the price of S3 and Apple 4s'

  • Oddly the spec is not listing 4G-LTE

    • I'm pretty sure the 3G and 4G come in 2 seprarate variants.
Don't think 4G outright will kick off in Australia, unless you buy it on a Telstra plan in a few months time

  • +1

How good is this price compared to other places?

    • it's the only place i can find which gives a price

      • +1

Ok so where's the bargain then?

  • +7

For the first time I must ask this question. How is this a bargain? :/

  • This is pretty expensive… Hopefully it will drop down to the sub $700 mark once the new iphone is released.

  • +5

Exactly how is this a bargain? To my knowledge, the pricing hasn't even been announced.

    • +5

+1, how is first site offering a preorder of something that hasn't been officially given a price a bargain?

So the next few sites whom advertise their preorder prices lower than Kogan's will become another bargain?

  • I dont think this is a bargain. There is nothing to compare the price to. Should probably have been put in the forums until there is some sort of gauge on if the price is good or not.

  • http://www.handtec.co.uk Preorder

    £444.99 + £26.90 DHL delivery = £471.89 (currently $723). Plus some currency fees = $730-735?

So pretty much smack on getting the iPhone 5 16Gb from Kogan.

Actually pretty hard decision which to get (I use a Mac as my primary computer).

    iPhone:
Pros - better OS (a bit - in my opinion), longer battery life, better Mac integration.
Cons - no microSD, no Flash, pretty much fixed price.

    Note II:
Pros - bigger screen (mostly for browsing), microSD, Flash capable, multiple battery capable, price drops if you wait.
Cons - a bit clumsy with Mac, OS not so slick,
