But a dog with a Philips OneBlade ;)

  • +1

    Only good for the face?

    • -1

Manscape away, just never ATM ;)

      • +5

It's never my idea. These young girls, they get all horned up and they tell you to go ATM

        • +3

Sometimes, in the heat of the moment, it's forgivable to go ATM.

        • +3

You mean those machines which spit out cash to buy handbags???

      • what;s ATM?

        • +1

I am pretty sure it is also known as A2M. Google is your friend.

I haven't had a lot of luck with it myself but YMMV…

      • +3

I think you mean bass to mouth.

    • -3

Yes only good on the face, useless with body hair and your downstairs will look like spaghetti if you try using it down there

  • +20

Got one last sale. It's great for a close shave and if you have real sensitive skin like me, it is a bit easier on the face than a normal blade.

If you are expecting to use this as a stubble razor, don't. It is useless at that, even with its various guards that are supposed to allow this. I found it very inconsistent and made me look like I had alopecia! I have dark facial hair so the inconsistency is very noticeable.

I just use my old electronic shaver for stubble shaves instead.

    • +1

thanks for the feedback mate, I was looking at primarily using it for stubble, you saved me

      • +1

Try this one instead - much better as a beard trimmer: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/787471

        • +1

Legend thanks mate, I was just about to ask that exact question when I saw it pop up.

          • +1

@opti: EDIT Actually I have the OneBlade PRO, with the attachment pictured here - https://www.amazon.com.au/Rechargeable-14-Length-Precision-Q… which seems to be slightly discounted atm.

I've been using the OneBlade for about 6 months now as a stubble beard trimmer and have had no issues with patchyness… I usually keep it between 2-4mm and its been great. Still on the first razor.

I have dark brown facial hair too.

            • @clanton: Yeah I got that too and it just didn't work for me. Tried a couple different lengths also and even either against and with the grain.

  • +1

Any deals on one blade pro face and body.

    • +1

No. I checked. I would have got that instead otherwise

    • +1

Fwiw the pro often comes down to ~$120-130, I snagged it in May $125. Overall very pleased with it but pretty sure the actual blade is the same between models so at this price this seems a real good deal imo. The pro seems to be just a bit better battery and few extra plastic attachments.

  • Is it 10x better than the $5 'T9 Trimmer' off Aliexpress? That one has done me well for a few years.

  • +5

Good but the replacement heads are too expensive.
Reviewed in Australia 🇦🇺 on 21 May 2023
$40 for 3 heads that might last a month if you are lucky. Not worth it in the long run.

It's actually even worse at $39 for two blades, although it says it lasts about 4 months at 2 shaves per week. I wouldn't want the ongoing cost of this…

    • +2

Yup, great shaver but replacement blades cost doesn't make it a great value shaver.

    • Nevermind. Wrong product.

    • You might be able to get them cheaper off Aliexpress/Temu

    • +4

I find mine last ages, six months at least doing about 3 shaves a week.

    • +3

I've been using the original blade for nearly a year now and it's still going strong.

I use it about 2-3 times a week.

    • I think it depends on use case but i only plan on using it once every 6 months or more…

    • hah yeah I bought this deal for the 2 replacement heads, normally $39, extra $10 gets me a spare body, charger, and guards in case any break. (or just for the second bathroom I guess)

    • Blades last a LOT longer if you don't get them wet.

      • How do you clean hairs then?

        • +2

Use the small brushes that come with shavers, and wash occasionally.

        • tap it on the edge of the sink.

  • +4

Ive had one of these for years. Amazing and quick. Blades last ages.

  • +9

I have very sensitive skin and need to be clean shaven for work. I was umming and aahing about this for a while and bought the pro version. Very happy with it. Does a close enough shave to look clean shaven and pass the clean shaven “test” but not close enough to get under the skin and cause irritation.

  • Does it come with two blades or one?

    • +2

Two. The QP2520/20 on Phillips Website shows x1, the one noted here is the QP2520/30 and shows as "Extra Replacement Blade" = Yes

  • +3

Bought one last time and was disappointed after seeing all the positive reviews. Way easier cheaper and faster just using a normal razor.

    • +3

Same here. It's almost false advertising calling it a shaver. Takes ages to get an average shave, almost impossible for a close shave. Using it on my face dulled the blade really quickly.

      • +3

I shave with this once a week followed by a blade and it's perfect. Saves me so much time compared to my previous Philips electric shaver

        • So you have two shaves at the same time?

          • @KangaDrew: Yep. The one blade does about 95% of it, and my hand blade finishes with a close shave

  • Any recommendation for a safety razer and blades? Sick of using disposable razers.

Watching youtube this seems slow and doesn't shave close or evenly.

  • +2

Is this good for the scrotum and balls, or do you recommend something else?

I was thinking about a Ballber

    https://www.amazon.com.au/BallberTM-Groin-Trimmer-Happy-Nuts…

Would be interested to know which is better….

    • It shaves but like to take a bite and make you bleed.!

    • The Oneblade will absolutely chew up your balls, don't bother.

The ballber on the other hand has really good reviews, might look into getting one myself

    • They have a skin safe guard attachment kit that is sold separately for this purpose.
I've not been knicked, however you need like 100 passes to do the job properly.

    • I personally use a Gillette Skingurard razor, and it is not 100% clean-shaven but does not give me in-grown hair.
Balls are safe but be mindful around the shaft, personally tested on a weekly basis.

also never tried this one but looks fun.

      • +1

Tried Nutbags, it doesn't work. Your boys will bleed all over.

  • alr peace out broe

  • Replacement blades are so expensive .
    Similar to inkjet printer marketing.

  • +2

Bought one 2 weeks ago. Absolutely don't rate this product! Really weak, cuts you etc better off getting the pro Phillips clippers. They are way better.

    • Use it dry not wet.
I am not sure how you are using it?

      • +2

I've shaved weekly for about a year with this and never once have I been cut

        • +2

Yeah, I have no idea how you can get cut with this unless your like pointing it into your skin or something.

As someone with sensitive skin this thing has been amazing…

  • +3

    Literally the best shaver

  • +1

Thought it was another Ryboi deal at first
