Good price for the size, but you'll honestly wish you went OLED after purchasing. OLED is far superior.

    • What's the biggest oled sony these days?

      • +1

83" A90J. 2021 model but still sold in the lineup.

        • +3

Thanks, and $5.6k is still the bargain price!?

          • +1

@Kammi: Give or take a couple of hundred, I think.

It's a WOLED panel, hence why their top range doesn't have bigger than 77". QD-Oled hasn't caught up in size yet.

    • +8

i don’t agree. I have an LG 65” oled. So much burn in … I wish I didn’t have one.
I just bought one of these :):)

      • +1

Which series LG do you have?

        • I bought it in 2017. It’s a LG B7 or C7.

      • +1

I've got Panasonic and LG OLEDs… No burn in. What are you watching to cause burn in?

        • Only a bit of YouTube and Netflix after work. I don’t use it for extended periods … like all day or nothing. It’s bizarre … I’ve got the screensaver thing enable too so even if I did leave it idle it’s shouldn’t be for too long. and the power saver so that it turns off after however long.

      • +1

I've had an OLED for 5 years now, TV at most times is left paused on still images and never had burn in

        • same here 4yo OLED - OLED55B8STB - No burn in spotted

        • Burn in is cumulative, still images doesn’t cause it

        • I have 65" Panasonic OLED that is from 2018, it's our daily driver, no burn in.

      • +1

        No you don’t.

You’re just trying to justify this purchase with the obsolete “OLED’s have so much burn in” comment.

        They don’t anymore.

        • +1

LG haven’t changed their software tricks or the general WOLED panel structure since the C8. If there are plenty of C8’s with burn in, what makes you think they don’t do it anymore?

        • +2

See my commend in reply below:
I bought it in December 2017 and I noticed it like mid 2020 during lockdowns.
          I don’t let it idle.
I always have brightness up to the max.
Here’s some pics I just took:

      • I do not believe in you mate!

      • Interesting.. have the C2 and play games on it.. no burn it at all.

      • Do you turn off the TV at the wall? If you don't leave the TV in standby mode it can't run pixel refresher so burn in gets much worse.

        • Nope. I never turn it off at the wall. I have the pixel refresher on too.

    • +7

OLED for dark rooms, mini led for bright rooms, and if we're throwing out price as a factor the X95K or L will be the best step up from here.

      • -1

Or go OLED and have joyful pictures at all times =)

        • Joyous if you can see it properly in a bright room

          • @cille745: I have a C2 - not even considered super bright but still brighter than the other LG LEDs that I have.

    • Not a chance, the 85” is far more striking than a 65”.

    • I would like to wait for the burn in to be a complete null issue.

We play games for a start, sometimes for a long, long time.

Right now, there's a bug with the chromecast, with a green dot, coming up in the top right corner and staying there, if you use the microphone, it's been on for hours and hours and would be a worry on OLED.

    • I will never understand why people always post on LED bargains saying OLED is better. Yes it is better but also $8000 for the same size

    • Ahhhh, yeah, maybe for $10K. A bit of apples and oranges here.

  • This or C735 TCL?

    • +3

This. C735 doesn't have local dimming, as well as a weaker processor. This also has better motion.

    • +2

This of course. Sony is obviously better. By image processing and better support at least.

    • This, TCL has rubbish image processing and motion handling.

      • In the past yes, but their new top end models are pretty good

        • +1

Compared to Sony and LG - they're really not. Compared to Bauhn and Ffalcon - perhaps.

  • -5

Why not be a true Bargain Hunter and just get a $500 TCL Smart TV, works fine for games and Netflix etc

    • +2

Is this a bait account/post? If so I am biting

    • That's what I'm after for the garage/pool room - 43" tcl C735 or sony x75k.

      • If you intend to watch sport, don’t get the TCL.

    • +1

This has an RRP of $3999.95. So a saving of nearly 40% off RRP.

The cheapest 85" TCL I could find was $1695.75. 15% discount from RRP.

      Which is the bargain?

    • Bauhn tv’s also work - they’re just horrible to watch.

  • Fastest delivery for me is 17/7, no thanks.

  • -1

What the best alternative to OLED right now in the $2k-3k price range 65”?

    • LG C series is in that price range

    • Try to get a Samsung sb95b, since they are now selling the new sb95c, not diff between two. I think Samsung OLED is the best

      • S95C is 20% brighter and has a better sound system S95B is comparable to other OLEDS in the market and S95C is slightly above the rest.

        • I have a soundbar for my s95b, both system are so thinnnn, their own sound system is not enough.

    • +1

Probably this mini led $2499, although may not be the best price.

Got it price matched at Sony and ordered with free delivery. Applied 10% Cashrewards cashback at checkout. I guess I did it the ozbargain way :)

    • I thought that pricematched (or anything that reduces the advertised price) was excluded by CR.
If it comes through, then you scored a true bargain

      • I received an email from CR straight after confirming the amount of cashback applied and approximate date of money release. I believe that should be it.

    • Hey Archie, how long it took to get a response from Sony after you put the price match request ?

      • It came through within 10 minutes after my request.

  • +3

Can tell you this tv is awesome. Black levels are so good. Bright, and colours pop like there's no tomorrow. Couldn't be happier

  • +2

I'd take this over a 65" OLED all day

  • "EXTRA15" doesnt work anymore :(

  • +6

People saying OLED better but they owning probably no bigger than 65 inch OLED. I have the older Sony X900H 85". I sit 3 metres from my TV, and I'm waiting for 98" prices to drop, it could definitely be bigger. I would take LED 85+ size over 65" OLED any day of the week. Gaming and movie experience far superior. You'd have to be sitting like 1.5 metres from a 65" to get the same effect. I bet most people have put these 65" OLEDs in their lounge rooms 3+ metres away. All the gear and no idea!

    • +4

This. Everytime there's a deal on non-OLED tv, there's always people "I'd rather go OLED" which cost 3x the price when we are talking about big TV(75" +).

      • Exactly. They've probably never owned anything above 65 inch so they don't understand. I can't understand people who say 85 inch is too big for their lounge room. when 90% of lounge/living rooms are probably 3m viewing distance at a minimum. 65 inch is actually too small for most lounge/living rooms for gaming and movies. As long as the TV is still well within your peripheral vision, the same way you would sit closer to a computer monitor, the TV is not too big.

      • +1

The next time someone post a meal deal, I will comment "I'd rather go Rockpool" 😜

    • You'd have to be sitting like 1.5 metres from a 65" to get the same effect. I bet most people have put these 65" OLEDs in their lounge rooms 3+ metres away.

No you don't if you have a Philips OLED. They have Ambilight which makes the screen feel far bigger.

  • +1

Great price. I paid more for my 75 inch X90…

just got email from bing lee saying my order is cancelled due to no stock. :(
