At $159 how does this product stack up against the likes of Logitech?

Being able to hotswap is really useful, get this. Better build quality and features like QMK/VIA support and better customisability as well.

And is it worth the extra $59 for Cherry Switches?

      No

I'm using a GMMK with gateron switches at the moment and I think I prefer them to cherry.

Logitech used to be the king of peripherals, but I don't think they are anymore. I still like MX Master mice, but I wouldn't bother with their keyboards anymore.

  • I just jump on this K4 Blue switches. Hopefully order going through

  • Is it better than Logitech MX Key? I'm currently using Apple Magic Keyboard and quite enjoy it, but I'm looking for a keyboard that can also be used with my gaming PC.

I’ve got both the MX Keys and a K5.
I use the MX solely for work and love it but it’s pretty terrible for gaming which is why I bought the K5 when it first released.
It’s also low profile but much much better for gaming and perfectly usable for work too

I use my v3 for work and games. Came from MX and before that Ducky.

I backed the K3 on Kickstarter and chose Brown switches but paid for an additional set of Blue switches. The Brown were atrocious, super inconsistent activation and unusable. I’ve been using the Blues since then and it’s OK, but with frequent of glitches.

I contacted Keychron support with video demonstrating the issue with Brown switches and was told that I’d either receive replacement brown switches when a fixed switch design was manufactured, or a refund. I’ve received neither. I’ve followed up since but never had another response.

Not saying everybody’s experience would be like this, but I’ve not be able to recommend Keychron to friends.

  • @ezpctech any info on the S1 availability in Aus? I've emailed keychron Aus but they haven't replied.

  • K4 says sold out. How to catch?

  • I have a K10 blue switch which I bought from eBay. I had to return it initially, as the OS selector switch was stuck on windows side but the keyboard led indicated Mac mode. The replacement is working OK. I like the clicky keys and the solid build of K10 but there are some issues as well. In order to save battery, the keyboard goes to sleep frequently. It does that even if it is connected to a charger. So the first keystroke (while sleeping) is never registered as the keyboard takes a second or two to wake up and connect to the device. Also switching between devices in bluetooth mode is slow. I had a Logitech multi device keyboard before this and never faced these issues with that.

  • Just bought the V6 brown w/knob from here,

    https://www.jw.com.au/product/keychron-v6-qmk-100-hot-swappa…

$143.10 + shipping, not a huge discount, nevertheless better than nothing I supposed.

  • What is the difference between RGB and RGB-B backlight?

The keycap colour scheme for modifiers, function key row and numpad are inverted from the other one.

Placed an order for the K4 Pro at lunch time and it has been dispatched just now. Did not expect it to be dispatched that fast.

  • I wish I had bought a Q4 to replace my pok3r when it died, but I ended up with a ducky one 3 sf. Can’t really justify it now that I have a working kb.

  • ew any brown switches ?

Another option for similar money would be a GMMK from amazon at $102 delivered - costs $140+ from other sellers.

Too many negative comments about BT performance unfortunately. Are the Royal Kludge any better ? I was looking at the Royal Kludge RK98

    • I used to have bulk problems with a Logitech BT keyboard a long time ago. All the same issues that people are describing with this one. I suspect that it's just bad BT connections and bad drivers.

Personally I don't feel the need to have a wireless keyboard on my desk; my keyboard stays on my desk.

      • Yes - I have gone away from Logictech keyboards as well. I have multiple keyboards and mice on my desk so the the less cords the better.

So I get a neg for saying there are negative comments on this thread. Awesome

  • I had K4V2, did nti like that everything was squished together. Would there be anything different with K4 Pro?

    • Your K4V2 is a 96%, it's meant to be compact. The K4 Pro clearly isn't if you look at the product images? It's a 100%, where everything is spread out. So obviously yes, it would be different. It's laid out like your traditional 104 key office keyboard.

      • But it is supposed to be smaller than tha k1
