I had an LG 43" 4K LED for 5 years. And it was big. 48" is going to need to sit a fair distance back if you dont want to crane your neck.

Good price, just a very big monitor.

Indeed. I was using a 50" TV for my computer setup and it was so bad. Got a 34" utlrawide monitor and it's the perfect size for work and play.

      • I'll be moving from a 43" to a 34" soon, your comment is just what I wanted to hear

This would have been a good buy, https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/783066

I have the Xiaomi 34" Ultrawide, same screen tech VA but capped at 144hz while the Samsung is at 165.

I bought mine for $620 but it has been much cheaper, really good entry to mid level monitor.

I have a 34 and would like bigger.

    • +1

Yeah I agree, been 27 inch for years then got a 32 inch Dell. 32 inch is fine but wouldnt go any bigger, especially for FPS

I don't even know how people used the 42" C2 OLED for a monitor. I've got a 32" and it's massive. You'd have to have a pretty deep desk to put the monitor far back

    • exactly, i got 4k 32'' monitor via last dell deal, and almost regret it. I beleive 27-28' ' is the sweet spot for monitor size.

      • I'm loving the 32" but certainly would not go any bigger

      • was reading 24" is the best (pro players prefer it, less eye strain etc)

      • +1

Same but the IPS glow makes me want to go OLED so badly.

    • +1

yep, I went back to 27" from 32"

Deep desk + monitor arm works great for the 48"

    • I have a colleague who uses a similar size monitor as a secondary or tertiary monitor positioned semi-overhead and mostly showing video and/or server alerts. It's pretty impressive as they sometimes have F1 or some other sports playing and can switch back and forth to their apps easily.

I have used curved 34 curved as a primary and find it sometimes too large and fiddly with the snap-in software.

Currently using a flat 32inch with a smaller flat 29inch ultrawide on the side as personally find it the goldilocks size. More comfortable with less head turning.

    • you basically have every window on tiny sizes, over its gets really annoying when you’re constantly turn your head around the screen. It’s like a whole neck stretch.

    how is 48" a monitor ?

    • +2

gaming monitor - use wireless controls maybe.

    • I have a FO48U, its great using it as a monitor mainly for gaming and video, short session for web browsing and emailing is also ok.

    • +1

It has DisplayPort which TVs lack, but it's somewhat of a moot point since HDMI 2.1 bandwidth can handle the full capabilities of this display.

Too bloody big for a monitor though.

    • all I can think is neck pain

  • +1

This not curve? At this size, gotta be curved then everything will be hunky-dory.

  • +2

I went from 2x 32" 4K to 2x 43" 4K and love it - so much easier with spreadsheets, and other Office apps. Watching the occasional movie or TV show also nicer.

Appreciate it's not for everyone though - my eyes aren't what they used to be when I was 25.

  • Are you guys saying that this is too big because you play first-person shooter (FPS) games a lot?

I hear that these size monitors are good for racing games. How is your experience with them?

Anyone playing open world action RPGs e.g. Assassin's Creed, Horizon Zero Dawn, etc?

  • In the description it say 1 yr warranty that can't be right can it
