Here is something a lot may enjoy. Just been reduced to around 10% off.

Compact 160mm utility scissors with very thick blades. Handy to keep in the car, for example. Powerful enough to cut seatbelts, thick wires etc. May be useful for first responders or people who intend to administer first aid to wounded.

The price may not be lowest ever, however, very close to that.

PS nice review https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4G6B6OoSy9Q

PPS It looks like it's price go on swings - up and down around 20% quite regularly. So, don't buy when it is up.

    Perfect.

Needed one of these to keep in the car in case of emergency to cut the seat belt.

I'll put it in the boot when it arrives.

    • +26

Seat belts in the boot. Your Amazon entry must also have.”People who bought this also bought duct tape, cable ties, rope and cloth for gags”.

      • +2

Do they sell Chloroform on Amazon? Asking for a friend.

        • +3

          Yes. A friend told me.

        • +2

My friend told me it's easy to make at home

        • Can make it at home.

    • I'll keep them in my boots everytime I leave the house.

    • +2

Get a ResQMe and keep it on your car keyring so it'll be within reach if you ever need it rather than in the boot. Can cut belts and break windows easily.

      • +13

You don't think that maybe it was humour?

        • +3

He probably keeps that in the boot. Permanently.

    • This is a good tool to keep in the car:

      https://leatherman.com.au/products/raptor?variant=3583987902…

It has a strap cutter and glass breaker.

That price is nonsense BTW. I bought mine for way less than $100.

    • +11

And when you do get into one, a scissor in the boot could have saved your life

      • -3

How do you get to the boot? Lol. Most people can't get out of the car, let alone open a crumpled boot.

Better to have a car window glass breaker.

        • +38

In a crash, the boot comes to you

        • +1

Yes we keep it together with the scissors in the boot.

    • +14

In the context of car crashes for regular people it is a bit of an insurance really. Hope you never need them, but may be handy on a picnic anyway. But I am a first responder myself, so yeah, have been to many TA including fatal ones.
But no one makes you use them in car crashes, these are just good utility scissors that will cut through anything. I just pointed out one application regular scissors will not work with and these will.

      • +10

        first responder

Hey just want to say thank you for what you do.

        • +9

          You are welcome!

    • +2

I was in a pretty bad crash a few years ago which involved the car rolling off the side of the road down a small embankment. We landed right side up and I could get the kids out easily enough but all I could think about was 'wtf would i have done if we were upside down and the car was on fire'

I've now got a few seat belt cutters and window breakers in all our cars. It's cheap peace of mind.

Search Ali Express for “paramedic scissors” to find some great options for your safety kit. $4 and they’ll power through seat belts, jeans etc

I tried posing a specific product but can’t work out how to make an acceptable Ali link

    • Ali paramedic ones are a lot lighter duty, handy to cut light clothing yes, but these will cut steel or copper wire and thick rope as well as kevlar fabrics apparently.

  • This or ENGINEER PH-57 also around same price on amazon au

    • +3

57 is lighter duty and normally cheaper.

      • +9

Yes and last time when I was in a car accident, they were harder to get out of the boot than this model.

  • I have a couple of these and find it really well made.

  • Back to $34.90

    • +1

Pick the right option… I still see the low price from Amazon JP.

    • Desktop showed $34.90 but when I used my phone, price was still $21.

      Ended up buying 2.

  • +1

    no bottle opener ?

  • +7

I feel i would get $21.03 value at very least just from an afternoon of 'will it cut?'

    • +3

Now I just hear Doug Marcaida saying "It will cut."

      • +4

        I prefer 'it will keel'.

  • Thanks OP - been looking for some good scissors.

  • Would these work as a pair of overqualified kitchen shears?

    • Of course but these are not very big.

  • +4

Is everyone jumping on the made in japan I'll buy it Ozbargin tour

  • These scissors are great, paid quite a bit more importing from England at one point. Engineer makes excellent tools, I adore their sidecutters.

  • +2

I wish the handle was bigger. It's a pass for me due to that.

  • No rush, I'll wait for the lowest-priced tomorrow.

    • +1

Last lowest was only $1-2 less in 2019. So you may need to wait a while.

  • +1

    Great find OP….

At last, something I can use to trim my toenails…

    • +3

Now you just need a heavy duty shaver and a calendar that shows when the full moon is.

  • Thank you. Bought two

  • 34 now

    • Not yet, pick the right store.

    • Updated URL to force Amazon JP via AU.

  • Bought thanks op

  • +2

If they can cut seat belts, can they cut flesh and bone too? Asking for a friend.

    • only toes….or so ive been told!

  • Can you recommend a good pair of scissors for the kitchen please?

    • +1

Mundial 666 Classic Shear Scissors are an Ozbargain favourite for a very good reason. I got them at $15 on Amazon (currently $19). Very happy with them

      • Thank you

        • Whichever ones you get make sure they are pull apart so you can clean them properly.

    • I just use some crappy ones for now. One day will try to find something maybe.

  • $21.33 now I think. $0.05 cheaper had me convinced i need a pair.

  • Don’t need one, bought one anyway.

Damnit, this site is supposed to save me money but always seems to cost me.

    • You can cut seat belts now though.

  • How do you search tools on Amazon Japan? I just tried but everything wasn't Prime and couldn't be ordered.

    • No idea. One method is to just open the amazon.jp website, find the brand, search for that brand on amazon.com.au. The amazon.com.au does not let you choose only the goods from JP when searching.

  • seems to be $34 now clicking on the other Prime option refuses to add to cart?

  • OOS folks. Will definitely come back in stock at some stage, but even the full price at Amazon JP is good. Was roughly around $25 I think.

    • Need direct link (to Japanese page) and does that include delivery Japan to Oz? see above-can't find any Prime offer on Amazon JP.

      • It is OOS at this stage, so not showing at Amazon JP at all.

  • Thanks.

  • Back in stock for $20.92

    • Thanks, updated.

  • Back to full price for now. ($24.25)

  • +1

    Now $20.13
