I dunno, esun PLA+ on sale for $21.60/kg and I've recently tried Kingroon PETG (10kg @ $14/kg) and it's really good. Is this worth the premium?

Can't really comment on PLA or PETG but I find their ASA good quality and value - better than eSun IMO. They are an Australian business and all that too so just depends. It's very hard to compete with those bulk deals from Kingroon/Sunlu on PLA/PETG though - and for the most part their offerings are good enough quality

      • Fair enough - I do think with the free shipping minimum, though, that you are pretty much buying bulk to get the discounted rate, putting it inline with how much you would have to buy from Cubic Technology .

Hi mate, could you post the link to the esun PLA+ that you mentioned are on sale?

  • Thanks OP, do you have any thoughts on ASA vs ABS?

    • ASA is the better ABS in every respect IMO. UV resistant, less VOCs (generally) and same positive properties. Only upside to ABS is cheaper cost and probably greater colour selection, so depends on what you're doing with your parts.

      • Interesting, for my use I'd probably be most interested in the higher heat resistance compared to PETG.

Have you noticed any differences in printability?
I tried ABS a while ago but had to run it outdoors and don't have an enclosure so results weren't great!

        • Definitely need an enclosure or the worlds best bed for ABS/ASA. Generally I find it prints nicer than PETG, ASA seems to flow better and doesn't do that annoying ball up on the nozzle kind of thing that PETG loves

  • Just bought a bunch of X3D Pro ABS 3.00mm 1kg for $10 ea… let's see how they are
