Original Coupon Deal If you're trying to setup a 10gbit network at home a lot of the cheaper switches and NIC's are SFP only ones. Connecting to these can be done using direct attach copper cables or fibre, but if you've already got cat6 in the walls or cables pre-run this is a good way to connect to those cables.

Also check your switch as they generally can only power a limited number of these RJ45 SFP+
Yeah seems to be the way with copper SFPs. Even my Cisco GLC-Ts get toasty.
If only it worked on humans… could have stuck this in to get my message across quicker…
the problem is laptops never come with an sfp port, so need RJ45 on the switches.
You have a 10G laptop? Would have thought the usual use case here was switch to switch or switch to router.
Probably has a USB4/Thunderbolt 4 connection built into the laptop
This is literally an SFP+ to RJ45 adaptor….
Was going to poo poo this deal but wow 10GBase-T transceivers are way more expensive than I realised. Equivalent item from FS costs $116.60 whereas an SR SFP+ fibre module is $34.10 from there.
I'll just stick with DACs and fibre.
Yup, they're annoyingly expensive, to the point I've considered converting to DAC's and fibre, but my desktop has an integrated 10g NIC with RJ45 connector and cbf adding another NIC to it.
Like this company, but beware, these rj45 ones, these things get super super HOT. hot to the touch hot.
